Great half day winter trip around Banff
Mar. 2020
Carson and Ellie, our guides, were wonderful! They had so much local information to share with us about history, geology, restaurants, and more. The tour had multiple stops- photography at Two Jacks lake, snowshoeing at Lake Minawanka, touring Cave and Basin National Historic Landmark, photography at Bow Falls, and a gondola ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to take in the expansive views of the valley. Along the way they also shared local snacks with us after snowshoeing and at the top of Sulphur Mountain. It was a great way to see Banff on a tight schedule in the wintertime without the hassles of planning the day and driving yourself around. Next time we return (hopefully in the summer) we'll book another tour with Brewster Sightseeing. Thank you so much!!!

Winter Wonderland Tour

Booked this tour through Get Your Guide. Fully worth the money. So much to see but you don't feel rushed. Still plenty of time to take pictures. Jon B and Taya were friendly and knowledgeable guides. This tour fully exceeded my expectations!

Winter wonderland tour-do it!!!
Mar. 2020 • Couples
We were collected on time by driver Micheal and host Ellie. Both made our day !

1st stop a view of Two Jacks lake. A frozen snowy wonderland. Then on to lake Minawanka where we donned snow shoes and headed out onto the lake. A great experience. Then back to bus fir hot chocolate
We then went to the cave and basin the start of the national park. Then bow falls and finally the gondola at sulphur mountain. All in all a fun educational and fab day. Thanks to the other 4 guests and Micheal and Ellie. A new tour and well worth it

We had such a great time on this tour. Ellie and Mona were exceptional tour guides! The winter wonderland sights were spectacular...like out of a fairy tale. Top of the gondola is something you must not miss. Outstanding value for the money.

Gorgeous scenery, great guides!
Mar. 2020
I took the Winter Sightseeing Tour with Banff Gondola this week and it was so stunning. It's off-season, so our tour group was very small which made the experience really personal. Ellie and Brad are great guides! Friendly, funny, and so nice. So knowledgeable about everything around Banff including giving me some good food recommendations at the end of the tour. Snowshoeing on Lake Minnewanka was by far my favorite activity, with the stunning view from the gondola coming in as a close second. We also got to spot some wildlife on our tour! Overall really fun way to spend an afternoon in a new place that you aren't quite comfortable venturing out on your own yet. This is also a great option if you don't want to hire a car to get to some of the more out of the way places. Thanks Ellie and Brad for making my trip to Banff even more spectacular than it already was!

Just gorgeous
Feb. 2020
We did the winter tour and it was utterly amazing. The scenery is, of course, the star of the show but the hosts made the trip for us. We did a snowshoe walk on a frozen lake and were welcomed back to land with a hot chocolate and homemade Nanaimo bars - many thanks to Bree & Dave!

Memories That Will Last A Lifetime
Dec. 2019
On Friday, 12/13/2019, I went on a tour called the Banff Winter Sightseeing Tour. This is a review I originally posted on another site but I'm sharing it here:

The Banff Winter Sightseeing Tour cost a total of $135.45 Canadian dollars (about $102.31 US dollars). The tour began at 12:30 pm and lasted until approximately 6 pm. Every customer was picked up at their hotel in a blue bus that had the word Brewster's written on the side. Even though there may have only been about 20 customers on our tour, I preferred riding that bus over the small shuttle vans I'd ridden on with another Banff tour company. We had more room to stretch out and breathe.

We had a bus driver and a tour guide. The tour guide was a short blonde who was originally from New Zealand. She got us all to introduce ourselves. We had tourists from the USA, Canada, Australia, and Asia.

Our first stop was at Lake Minnewanka. I had already been there two days earlier with another tour but it's so nice that I didn't mind seeing it twice. The edges of it were frozen and most of the land around it was thick with snow. It was here that this native Georgian got to wear snowshoes for the first time in my life. I thought they'd be awkward but walking in them felt natural to me. The tour guide was gracious enough to take pictures of us with our cameras whenever we asked.

Our next stop was the Cave & Basin National Historic Site. Some people tend to overlook this place when visiting Banff, but because of the sulphurous hot springs here the idea of establishing Banff National Park first began. While we were there we saw two of the hot springs: one outside the cave and another inside. There was a very strong boiled egg odor as we first approached them. While we were viewing the one outside the cave, a Native American woman told us about the history of the hot springs and what they mean to her people.

A long time ago people bathed in the hot springs because they thought it would cure various ailments, but that practice has stopped at this location. There's a tiny endangered snail called the Banff Springs snail that needs the hot springs in order to survive. We weren't allowed to put our hands in the springs but a small pail of the water was passed around and we could touch that if we wanted to. Then we entered a small building that was attached to the tunnel entrance of the cave. Inside the cave, we saw the second hot spring. A streak of light shone in from an opening in the cave's ceiling. There was a small platform built around the hot spring so you could safely get a closer view.

After leaving the Cave & Basin, we were driven to our next stop and the the grand finale: the gondola ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Each gondola seats four passengers and takes several minutes to reach the top. At the ride's highest point, you'll be about 7,486 feet above the bottom of the mountain. There are large windows for your viewing pleasure.

At the top of the mountain is a small indoor restaurant and a kind of family recreational center that features a live Santa Claus for much of the Christmas season, but he wasn't up there during my visit that afternoon.

My favorite part of the whole tour though was the outdoor observation deck on the mountaintop. It was like standing on top of the world itself. You could see the town of Banff in the distance and all of the other surrounding mountains. There were tables with small fires in the center of them so you could either warm your hands or roast bannock bread (a treat popular with local indigenous people that you roast like marshmallows on a stick). We were also given warm, delicious apple cider to drink. There were round, see-thru, heated, tent-like things you could sit in if you got tired of the cold air.

As the sun went down, it got very cold up there but the view made it more than worthwhile. I looked down and saw the town of Banff all lit up as it got dark. It was a photographer's dream. When I rode the gondola back down, night had fallen and I couldn't see much of anything but darkness when I looked out the window. Once I exited the gondola, I stopped for a minute in the gift shop, then boarded the bus so they could take us back to our hotels.

This tour was beyond 5 stars to me. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Banff.

Best first time experience
Dec. 2019
I had the best experience with Ellie, Bri and Mark as our guides! They were so friendly, nice, and even funny. They were knowledgable about the locations they took us too and it was a great glimpse of Banff National Parks best spots. Spots I would never know to look for myself. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the tour group was comfortable and enjoying the tour.

The tour itself was amazing. The lake they took us too and explained the history, snowshoeing, going up the gondola, the cave and basin were all so much fun. I would definitely use this company again for any tours there.

Breathtaking!
Feb. 2020 • Couples
We decided to do the Winter Wonder tour as a first activity to do in Banff because it included so many wonderful destinations. Our hosts - Ellie and Asif - really took care of us and we couldn't ask for much better hosts. The hot drinks and snacks are a great bonus to this trip! Thank you both for making our first day in Banff so wonderful and memorable!

The perfect way to see Banff!
Jan. 2020
My friends and I had such an amazing afternoon doing the Banff Winter Sightseeing Tour! Our guides Ellie and Mona were amazing - so accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, and great photographers as well! We were able to see/do so much in one afternoon - from snowshoeing on Lake Minewanka, to visiting Cave and Basin and various other lakes - we even saw a deer and some elk along the way! Finishing off the tour with the Banff Gondola was perfect - the views were spectacular, we got to try smores for the first time and it was snowing! My only feedback would be that there weren't enough snowshoes for everyone so we had to share - but otherwise I would really recommend this tour for anyone interested in seeing some key sights around Banff :)
