VOLKAN was so knowledgeable and attentive! ONE OF US used a cane. He immediately was at her side as we navigated the marble steps and pathways of the city and Mary's House . A GREAT experience!

Our happenstance meeting with tour guide Volkan will always be a highlight of our trip to Ephesus - He could see that I was apprehensive about reaching Ephesus from the van we were traveling in - and since he has just finished a nursing tour - offered to give our small group of 4 an afternoon tour ! He was a Godsend and made the whole afternoon a breeze - we are so thankful to have met him ! What a wonderful experience to walk where Paul once spoke to the Ephesians - thank you for everything, Volkan !

Volkan is an amazing tour guide, we met him back in 2018 at Ephesus and it made us want to book him for our next visit to Izmir. We had the most amazing time with him and took us on 5 days private tour to the most beautiful destinations! He was so kind to prepare a detailed itinerary and he responded to my emails on a timely manner. His daily rate was reasonable and affordable. To give you an idea, here are the main locations that we visited: - Tour of Pergamon - Priene, Miletus and Didyma - Aphrodisias and Pamukkale - Tire, Birgi,Sardis - Ephesus and St Mary's House He has all the information about the destinations and history that will take you back in time. He will also recommend the best restaurants and take you to the best places to shop and get delicious Turkish treats. As a small group of 2 ladies, we felt welcomed and comfortable through out the entire tour. We are looking forward to our next visit and will definitely book Volkan again.

Volkan gave us a tour of Ephesus and it was amazing! We were initially going to explore on our own, but thought we would gain so much more if we went on a tour. We're very glad we did because it made our experience a lot better! Volkan is very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about his work. We ran into Volkan at the gate and ALMOST didn't take his tour. That would've been a BIG mistake! If you walk around Ephesus without knowing the history, you can finish it pretty quickly. However, you would be doing yourself (and your group) a big disservice. The history is so rich there, and Volkan is full of interesting, cool, and fun facts! He is super knowledgeable about all of the monuments, buildings, roads, and everything and was able to answer any question we had. There are SO many things in Ephesus that don't look like much and we would've definitely walked past TONS of stuff, not knowing all the amazing stories and history behind it. Volkan was an amazing tour guide, his English is excellent and he is now certified to do Spanish tours too! Do yourself a favor and call Volkan for a tour. I promise you'll get so much more out of Ephesus than just walking around yourself. He also gave us tons of tips for our road trip along the Aegean Coast. I highly recommend a tour with Volkan!

Volkan Avci (Guide Ephesus) is an absolutely fantastic tour guide of the highest calibre. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the site and also knew a great deal about the current archaeological excavations that are being done there, which was of great interest to me. I honestly cannot recommend him more highly and as a professional art historian and curator, this is high praise indeed. We had a wonderful day together and I learned a great deal about the history and cultural aspects of the site. Volkan has a real talent for lecturing, but could easily do a fabulous tour for non-experts or families as well. My day in Ephesus was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Turkey. He is a superb guide and I honestly can't imagine anyone better or more knowledgable about the subject. Volkan our tour guide is genuinely very enthusiastic about showing and explaining to us the City of Ephesus. He is entertaining, witty and his knowledge of this site is incredible. Found out later that in addition to English, he’s also fluent in Spanish. Time flies in his tour as he brings you back to ancient times

We didn't plan to hire a tour guide at the beginning but were frustrated when wandering around in the Ephesus site following an audio guide rented from the site (with some of the numbering wrong). We were so lucky to come across Volkan at the gate, a professional tour guide with 20 years of experience, who kindly showed us around, introducing to us those well-known landmarks with great details and humor, and even to his cat and dog friends there :). It turned out to be such an enlightening and informative afternoon! Volkan had shared his great knowledge, interesting stories as well as his own thoughts and interpretation about the site and the ancient city, leaving me hunger for more after going back. Volkan is also very familiar with the neighbouring areas (as well as the country) and we wish we had known him earlier when visiting other parts of the area. We cannot say thank you enough to the Volkan and would recommend him to everyone!

We were hosted by Volkan Avci at the ancient city of Ephesus. We thoroughly enjoyed Volkan broad knowledge of history, people and culture not only of the ancient city but also for other ancient relics and tourist attractions in Turkey. We asked him for a tour of 1.5 hour and he ended up having spent time with us for over 2.5 hours. We had so many questions for him and took some of the questions and expanded them to give us a much better understanding of the history and people of the place. Volkan is an excellent tour guide, one of the best we have experienced. I would highly recommend him.
