You will be picked up from your hotel or head directly to the ranch (whichever you prefer) and come and enjoy of this wonderful and unique adventure. On this ranch located close to the Pacific Ocean shores, you will go hiking with a Mexican donkey in a attempt to recreate how the older generations in Mexico used to transport big cargos of food and water. You'll begin by being introduced to your donkey as it will be handed to you. From then on you will have the control of it On the way up while hiking, you'll have the chance to feed the donkey and even interact with it. Your guide will take you to different attraction points where you'll have the chance to take pictures and walk for a while for wonder. Once it is time to go, your guide will let you know. Enjoy the walk and marvel at the incredible and unique views. After the tour, you'll head back to your hotel. Note: The ranch's mission is to transform the quality of life of donkeys and also bring them close to people so they enjoy this particular, intelligent, curious and loving animal. They do this by proposing positive human and donkey interactions, as well as transforming the public’s understanding of the donkey’s role.

        Great time on the trails!
We went around 9:30 am so the weather was perfect! Maureen was a great guide and very friendly! The trails were not too difficult and we were comfortable driving throughout the morning. The whole team was excellent from our driver that picked us up and dropped us at our hotel, to the check-in and photography teammate who was so very friendly! Thank you for a great morning!

        ATV Riding
Had a super good time on the ATVs. Was a fun tour went with family and some had people with more comfortablity than others but the ride was a good mix of diferent kinds of trails. Our guide Muren was super nice and made the tour really fun. The views were also amazing and they make sure to get photos of you when you stop in different locations.

        Excellent horseback experience
The experience was really amazing and enjoyable. It’s a more laid back kind of activity in Cabo that you can go at your own pace. I really and thoroughly enjoyed it very well. Amazing staff at Carisuva.

Slow paced ride to the ocean
The ride was gentle enough for a first time rider. The horses know the route so it doesn’t take too much skill to do the ride. Slow pace tour. Excellent views of the ocean when you get to the top of the ridge. No real snacks included in the price however, food and beverages are available. The ranch is nice. The staff is friendly.

        Exhilarating ATV drive
Book this tour for my son, husband and myself. We had an amazing ATV ride to the beach. We habe bad backs but the ride was pretty smooth. Our tour guide and photographer were so great. We were picked up at our hotel and were taken to the ranch. Warning - Be prepared to pay for the park fee. It's an additional $20 per person. Also tip your tour guides well as that's how they get paid. I would definitely do this tour again with the whole family.

It was ok, I expected a bit more from what was advertised.
Expected I little more than just a walk in the desert. Would have liked more time walking on the beach. We did not stop or given an opportunity to take photos which was a bummer. They did asked if we wanted them to take photos for us for a fee which I declined since I had my phone to take pictures with. Instructions on horse riding were great and clear. We did get offered helmets but we declined. Not sure to what “park” you pay an entry fee since our guide told us we were traveling on private property and there was no gate or boundary we crossed that gave us the the impression of entering any park. If it’s to their sanctuary, perhaps it should be advertised as a donation not a fee. I do applaud their efforts to sea turtles conservation but that is the ranch’s prerogative. The horses were great and well behaved. They pretty much know the drill and need very little guidance from you. The snack they advertised was for the horses not for us but they did give us a bottle water after the ride. Lastly, it is pretty far up north from the town so expect a decent ride out to the ranch, but the driver does his best to cut the time down.

        Average. Would not recommend
Our overall experience was average. We purchased 4 tickets for a “sunset” tour at 3:30pm. I received a message via the trip advisor portal/email the day before at 12:26pm. It stated that we would be picked up at 1:40pm at our resort. I messaged back at 12:28pm and asked where exactly the tour is because we booked for 3:30pm and a pick-up of 1:40pm is rather early. I received no response and tried calling the phone number on the reservation 5 times, only to get a voicemail. The following day I still had not heard back from Carisuva. Regardless, we met at the lobby at 1:40pm and no one arrived. I called the same phone number and a woman answered. She stated that she accidentally typed “1:40” but meant to type “2:40”. This was frustrating since we planned our day around it and this could have been avoided if they would have responded to my message or phone calls. I asked how this lack of communication could be “made right” and she offered to discount the $20 per person park entry fee to $10 per person. The excursion advertisement does not state where the farm is. It is at Rancho Carisuva in El Pozo de Cota. This will help any future customers gauge time and potential booking (could be very far from your resort and not worth it). The staff members were friendly. It was difficult to hear the guide if you weren’t the 1st or 2nd person behind him. The tour is about 1 hour long. Nice views of the beach and horses were well behaved. A 3:30pm time slot is not “sunset” which I figured it wouldn’t be but confirming that for anyone who may think the tour would go long enough for a sunset.

Good to do tour of you like riding
We booked the tour a couple of weeks prior, but received a message the night before from them asking if we can delay the tour. It looked like they prioritized the tourists from the cruise instead of honouring the original bookings, which was very frustrating. The pick up was late by 15mins and when we got to the ranch, the tour wasn’t ready so we were offered an ATV ride for free, which was very fun going through the cacti and glad we did it. The horseback riding was very nice with amazing scenery. You are not allow to take any loose items so we could t take our phones. The photographer pictures are okay, not amazing, but was quite expensive (US $80 for a pair, with additional $30/person). We negotiated the pricing and we recommend doing so. The guides are very nice. This ranch take care of their horses well and rescue donkeys. Overall it was a good tour but be prepared to spend some extra money for the photos.

        Phenomenal Horse Ride With Elena!
My daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful ride with our guide Elena. My daughter is experienced and she had a terrific time. I am not experienced, and was matched with the right horse. I got to try out trotting for the first time on a secluded beach - how amazing! My daughter had an opportunity to gallop and was so happy to. Comfortable, safe and relaxed. Elena was amazing, and we had a great time talking and being with her. Elena was very knowledgeable about the land, horses and ranch, and it was clear she loved horses. All the animals at the ranch were very well taken care of, (and very loved) and we got to feed the horses treats after our ride. In addition to horses, the ranch also had donkeys and chickens. They also have a team that helps endangered sea turtles in the wild. The horses loved being ridden and were very well cared for. This was the highlight of our trip for both of us, thank you for a perfect ride!

        A delightful ride in Cabo
What a wonderful experience this was - starting with the shuttle ride to the ranch. The tour group was very good about communicating with me. The ranch itself is beautiful and peaceful. I have done horseback riding tours in various places and this was definitely in my top 5. The horses were are very well behaved and the tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. I am so happy I got to enjoy a beautiful morning in Cabo doing this eco-tour and would love to return one day.

      Pros:
      - Good views (if your donkey lets you)
      - Nice and Friendly Guides

      Cons:
      - Our tour did not happen during sunset (it was around an hour beforehand).
      - A couple people in our group were not able to see the views at the peak of the hike because our Donkeys were stubborn and would not move.
      - There are not snacks provided for humans, I assume the snacks listed were meant for the donkeys.

This is quite the little adventure! If you are looking to laugh and experience something unique, this is your tour. If you haven’t experienced donkeys before, beware. They are stubborn and goofy and they are not going to act like a well seasoned trail horse. That said, they’re most definitely going to keep you laughing and on your toes! My husband and I really enjoyed this experience overall. The donkeys were chosen by their keepers based on which donkeys were eager to come with us. I liked that. Let the burros choose. We were told the Burris were all rescues so that was really nice too.The staff were kind and funny and took tons of photos of our experience. We hiked through a short bit of desert and then onto the coastline. When we arrived back to Rancho Carisuva, we were fed quesadillas with fresh avocado and given shots of Mescal!

If you love animals and would enjoy an upclose and personal encounter with a donkey- this is a great activity.
Pros: you get to hike out to the Pacific Ocean with a donkey and a guide. The donkey walks along on a lead. Its like walking a huge dog. Our donkey, Anita, was very sweet and gentle. My 12 year old felt very comfortable walking with her. Our guide, Oscar was very informative about the fauna and local culture. Free beach bag size lockers. They seem to take good care of the animals- donkeys and horses for horseback rides. They dont appear to be exploiting the animals. many of the donkeys and horses are rescues. they looked much better than the horses available for rent on our hotels beach
Cons: You likely will need to share the shuttle with tourists from other hotels. Our hotel in Cabos del San Jose was only about 20-30 min away, but because we had to get other tourists at other hotels, took an hour trip.

If you want to get out in nature and away from your resort this is the place to come. We visited the Ranch Carisuva Sep 24. Our guide was Oscar who was very knowledgeable about the park, plants and wildlife. Sweet Anita was our companion donkey. Breathtaking views and a great way to get some exercise. They provided round trip transportation. We were provided snacks and drinks along the way. Thank you so much, I would highly recommend.
