Extremely frustrated and disappointed My boyfriend and I rented two electric scooters. He paid for them with his debit card. We rode around for about 10 minutes and during that time his scooter kept turning off after a few seconds of driving. So we drove back to the scooter shop and called the worker to notify him of the scooter turning off. I asked for a refund for my boyfriend’s scooter due to the fact that he was unable to ride it for the full length of time. The owner agreed and paid us cash for his scooter amount. My boyfriend and I decided to ride my scooter for the remaining time. Everything was fine. Unfortunately an hour later when I went to walk the scooter down the cement ramp, I accidentally revved the engine and the scooter dragged me down the ramp. The bike was damaged so I asked one of the guys nearby to call the owner (my cell service would not work for calls in mexico). The worker came, was very polite and told me the price for the scooter to be fixed would be about $200. Absolutely no problem. I gave him my card, he inserted it, and the damage was paid for. The next day I get back to the US and notice that I was charged double the amount for the wreck. I thought it was a mistake, so I contacted my bank and they told me to try and contact Kimoplaya. Kimoplaya is now saying my boyfriend’s scooter collided with my scooter and they were both wrecked. Impossible due to the fact that we returned his an hour before my wreck occured AND my wreck involved no other scooter. They also claimed we rented another scooter after returning his first one. Another lie. We only rode on my scooter after returning his. My biggest concern is that they charged my card for a scooter that was not mine and it was not even on file for the scooter rentals. I ONLY gave my card to pay for damages to MY scooter. And If they truly thought we did damage to two scooters then why did the owner refund us for the first scooter? Why did no one mention issues with the first scooter until I contacted them about the double charge? I have been trying for days to get answers but the only thing they keep saying is that two bikes were wrecked. I am angry because those are untrue allegations and my card was wrongfully charged twice. I am disappointed in their lack of professionalism and won’t stop speaking about it until they fix this terrible mistake.
