An awesome day out
Nov. 2021 • Couples
Our first visit to Mexico and a trip I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint.

We were taken around the amazing Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá and Coba by our very knowledgeable guide, Carlos.

Carlos told us a lot about Mayan history, Mexican heritage and the sites of both Chichén Itzá and Coba, what they were used for and how the people lived.

Chichén Itzá is beautiful, well preserved and huge. So many different buildings to see here with so much history to be told, but the most impressive building of them all is the temple itself. Although closed to the public, you can marvel at its beauty and fantastic preservation effort.

Coba is also an interesting, but much smaller site. The preservation work here isn’t as impressive as Chichén Itzá, but still a very interesting place nonetheless. At the time of writing this review, the main temple cannot be climbed by members of the public, due to the Covid-19, whether this is permanent or temporary, no one knows for definite yet.

The cenote, Ik Kil, is an amazing site, located only 10 minutes (if not less) from the site of Chichén Itzá. Swimming in the cenote is amazing, and the water is cool and fresh, perfect for a hot, sticky Mexican day. You can also jump into the water at this cenote.

Overall a really, fun and interesting day and a massive thanks to Carlos and the team for doing a great job, a definite recommendation.

Chichen Itza
Nov. 2021 • Couples
The guides were very good. My only negative was the morning pick up at our resort. If you allow us to choose the pickup time then please honor it. If , like what happened, you will pick up guest based on where their resort is then please contact the night before and alert when the actual pick up time will be. I scheduled a 5 AM pickup but was not picked up till 6:30.

Not worth the extra cost
Nov. 2021
Save your money and book a different trip. I booked this trip because it guaranteed three hours at Chichen Itza and we ended up getting an hour and a half. To be clear, it wasn't a bad trip, our guides were great and the included breakfast and lunch were decent. There weren't any surprise fees, as promised. The issue is that there are other tour operators who are honest about how much time you get at the sites and those tours cost a lot less. I requested a partial refund from TripAdvisor because I hadn't gotten what I paid for and they sent me back $35 out of the $278 I spent for two tickets. Are they kidding? I could've saved a lot of money if I had booked a different tour. Or, this tour could be great if they actually gave you what you paid for. I also want to mention, this tour still took 12 hours. To get the full three hours at Chichen Itza would have made it a really long day but I still would have taken it over a trip that only gave me 1.5 hours. PS - the van is pretty uncomfortable.

Perfect choice!
I wanted specifically a tour that combined Chichen Itza and Coba. The fact that the cenote was also part of it was a bonus. I wanted to avoid most of the tours thst skipped Coba and went to Valladolid instead. This was perfectly fine and scheduled. Pick up in PDC was at around 6-6:30am and we were in small vans (10-12pax) that took us to another meeting point around Tullum where we were re-shuffled into other small vans depending on what package we booked. The driver Ruben and the guide Ugo (Hugo ?) were perfect. The tour was all in English and Ugo was super knowledgeable and knew how to keep it interesting. We always managed to beat the crowds. Started Chichen Itza. When we left, we could see big crowds arriving. Then at the cenote it was the same. Perfect timing. Lunch was buffet style and good. Warning for Coba though, there is quite a bit of a walk from the parking/site entrance. Wear confortable shoes. It's not a difficult walk but it's long. A bit more than a mile. All in all I can only recommend this! Oh and FYI I was back in PDC at around 8pm so it's a long day. Even more if you've been picked up in the Cancun area. They pick you first and drop you last.

Best experience to Chichen Itza!
Nov. 2021 • Family
This was the best experience with Jesus (our guide) & Javier (our driver)! Pick up was on time, with breakfast. Also we are at a condo and not a hotel as were others and they had no trouble finding us.
We beat the crowds by going to Chichen Itza first and the free time was very much appreciated so you can shop or take a closer look at some ruins. Jesus (our guide) is so knowledgeable about not only the history of each site but also the environment, culture and the different languages, He is also has a great sense of humor! Really appreciated his advice on how to get the best deals at the vendors :)
They always made sure we had water, washrooms and would offer to take a picture whenever we needed.
Cenote was gorgeous! I looked up cenotes in the area and appearently this is one of the best! Water was not nearly as cold as I expected. big beautiful vines cascade from above as well as little water falls. There is an area to dive, lockers and life jackets included and that is where you eat lunch (before or after you swim- up to you). Buffet was yum! You can bring water shoes but you don't really need them. You can bring a snorkel but the only thing you will see is a bunch of tiny black catfish. (I recommend a strap on your devices as the cenote is very deep and you will lose something for good if you drop it).
Coba is really nice as it is less crowded and (as I learned from the tour) it is from a different time period so it is constructed different. Unfortunately due to covid you cannot climb on the ruins right now but the lack of crowd let's you get some great photos.
Perfect amount of free time and guided time. The small group allows you to ask a lot of questions and make friends with the group or go solo if you choose.
Then we were dropped off at our hotel.

In all my travels this tour has been one of the best :)

Amazing…
Nov. 2021 • Family
Jesus was incredible and Xavier (driver) made the trip very comfortable. Jesus took us around and gave us a detailed and amazing tour of all the places we visited. The food was great at the buffet and we beat the crowds! The minivan held 11 but 10 booked and it was comfortable for a lot of miles we had to do from Playa Del Carmen to Chichen Itza amd back. Jesus, the guide gave us not only a great historical tour but with his own experiences made the trip authentic! He knew the information and his passion of the Mayan culture, the history, the ruins, and of Mexico was admired and enjoyed. The extra time at Chichen Itza was appreciated and I felt that the cenote swim and buffet lunch time was sufficient. The Coba ruins was a great introduction and I will go back. Jesus…what a pleasure to have met you!

Amazing Tour with Hugo & Ruben!
This was such an amazing experience! (Literally took a billion of photos. I’m going to share more about this experience on ig 📸 @ traveling.auntie) Ruben & Hugo were amazing from the beginning. Very polite, professional, & helpful. They remembered ALL of our names which was helpful during the tour (at one point I had to run to the van for something I left, Ruben was able to call my name and point me in the right direction)
Hugo was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Genuinely passionate about history. You could tell he enjoyed educating us & sharing the history about ancient Mayans. I regret not doing this tour sooner.

Coba ruins were so interesting (lots of walking but they do have people that will taxi-bike you to and from the pyramid / ball pin for about 60 pesos, but we decided to walk)

Cenotes were soooo much fun. Lunch was served buffet style. Meat, sides, fruit, + drink (I’m vegetarian and had salad, beans, rice, & pasta)

CHICHEN ITZA!!!!!!! Omg. Literally jaw dropped at how fascinating ancient Mayans were (i advise not going on a Sunday if you’d like to avoid crowds. Locals go free this day, so it was extremely busy.. but still a great tour nonetheless) it gets hot as there’s lots of direct sunlight so many people had umbrellas. (I don’t mind the sun / heat & I even I was looking for shade LOL)

Overall. This tour was absolutely amazing!!!! Absolutely recommend. (Hugo even helped take photos for us. Yes we’re annoying travelers that want to capture everything 😅) Tips are not included for anyone. If they take good care of you (as I know they will, please remember to tip! Driver, guide, and people that help with food)

Thanks for everything Hugo & Ruben!!!!!!

Awful service
Jul. 2021
DO NOT BOOK with this company. They cancelled on us at 7:40 the night before our Wednesday tour, saying they were at capacity and could we go on Thursday instead. This is AFTER they had previously told me they do not run this tour on Thursday, since I had originally had a whale program booked for Wednesday. Because they said no to Thursday, I moved the whale tour, and signed up for Wednesday. At 7:40pm I got a cancellation email, requesting that we shift to Thursday. I immediately wrote back that this was not going to work due to the schedule THIS company put forth to me earlier. They replied that it was not their fault, they had the slots but the Chichen Itza authorities had told them they were at capacity. Interesting that when I booked with another company a half hour later to save the day, there were no capacity restriction problems. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS. There are a thousand other ways to see these gems with reliable companies that don't pass the buck.

There are restrictions on the number of visitors to archaeological sites, you can inform yourself independently. The administrations of the archaeological zones notify us the day before if the limit has been reached or not, it is not something usual but it has happened on some occasions. WE DIDN'T HAVE FULL CAPACITY, THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE HAD REACHED ITS LIMIT. These are Covid19 restrictions that we cannot bypass and we are subject to. Did you go with another company? it is really complicated, the restrictions when they arrive is for all agencies. We understand your frustration but we do not have the responsibility, WE CANNOT BREAK THE RULES so that you get angry. On the other hand you DID NOT PAY for the excursion. It is difficult to make a client who does not respect the rules understand that the rules must be respected, that is why they are angry. We are sorry but we repeat, we do not set limits on the number of visitors in archaeological sites, the government does! Even so, he was given the option of going the next day and he did not want to. It is sad to see how for some clients there is no covid19 and the restrictions.
