Wonderful, long day!
This is a wonderful tour. Ricardo and Joel did a great job. Ricardo knows so much! It does require a lot of climbing, if you choose to go up the pyramids. That is part of the amazing experience!

Excellent tour!
I am so glad I booked this tour. It was a long but amazing day.
Joel was the guide for us (English speaking) but we also had Rolando (Spanish speaking guide) and Jorge the driver. They were awesome and very attentive to the passengers, making sure we had everything we needed, making sure we were hydrated and being helpful in every way.

Joel was such an excellent guide. He was so educated and passionate about the Mayan culture. It was truly a pleasure to learn from him and we were really happy to be a part of this tour.

Chichén Itza was very awe-inspiring. Hubiku cenote was refreshing and the buffet lunch at the restaurant was pretty good. Ek Balam was smaller than Chichén but awesome because you could climb to the top of the pyramid and interact with the structures if you want to.

Jorge was an excellent driver and we felt very safe.
If was truly a great day.
Thanks again to Joel, Rolando and Jorge.

Chichen Itza and EkBalam , very long day but a lot of fun !
Apr. 2019 • Solo
I had a wonderful experience with Excursiones Riviera Maya. One night before the tour started I got a text from them confirming the pickup time at the hotel. Our tour guide Diana was lovely and provided lots of information about the history of each location we visited. After Chichen Itza and the Cenote swim (the swim was optional) we had a buffet lunch and the food was delicious. Then our last stop was Ek Balam and there you can climb a pyramid if you wish. The tour was over and it was time to drop off everyone at their hotels. I did not get back to downtown Playa Del Carmen until around 7:30pm but it did not matter because I had so much fun learning about the history and at the same time exploring the ruins at Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Thank you Excursiones Riviera Maya and a special thanks to Diana !!!

What a great but hot day
Itbwas an early start but our English speaking guide Pablo was great. He walked us around the ruins and told us so much about each section. He really knows and loves his work. Chichen Itza was hot but there was lots of shade pockets due to getting there early. The cenote was amazing. So cold and deep. We had loads of little cat fish swimming with us also.
Ek Balam is the best stop on the trip. Its a lot smaller then Chichen and not as well known yet. Plus you can climb a couple of ruins.
Would happily recommend these guys and we are already looking into other excursions with them

Great tour
Apr. 2018 • Couples
Joelle was a fantastic tour guide. You won't find anyone else more knowledgable about Mayan culture and these sites. He was very professional and attentive to the needs of our group. We have travelled all over the world and this is one of the best tours we have ever been on. Jorge was our driver and he was also excellent. Recommend both of these guys very much.

Recommend this Tour
Mar. 2018 • Couples
Tour started early with a pick up from our resort, we had 2 tour guides one spanish speaking Orlando and Joel English speaking guide and our bus driver Joel also.
Small group with me & my partner being the only English speaking people on the tour meaning we had our own tour guide Joel. Joel was excellent with extensive knowledge of the Mayan culture and history and a passion for the Mayan people. Tour saw us get to Chitzen Itza early beating the large crowds we encountered when leaving. Ek Balam was surprisingly amazing, with a interactive site that allows you to climb the pyramid and surrounding temples. This was my highlight of the tour.
Great way to see and learn about the Mayan culture and if you are interested in history or ruins this is a must. Highly recommend thank you Joel & Joel.

Great way to spend the day
Jan. 2018 • Couples
Its an early pick up to start a 3 hr journey to Chitzen Itza. Guide Poncho and driver Hector took care of the small group of 6. Poncho is knowledgeable, attentive and funny. Adequate time was allotted to explore the attractions on your own. If you are a breakfast person, I suggest to pack your own breakfast. Lots of walking at Chitzen Itza and lunch is not until almost 2 pm. Ek Balam is not to be missed. Its not completely excavated and studied like Chitzen and Tulum and more preserved elements. Van was comfortable.

Best tour ever!
Hector was our driver and Pancho was our amazing guide. This tour was fantastic from beginning to end. They picked us up right on time outside of our condo despite that it was out of Playa Del Carmen proper. We started our day at Chichen Itza and beat the crowds enabling us to see most of the sites before there were too many people. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, having even studied some of the Mayan language! We had an amazingly delicious buffet lunch at the cenote Hubiku and the swim was spectacular. It was very beautiful and a wonderful experience. Climbing Ek Balam was exciting, terrifying, and spectacular. Handling a recreated ball from the famous ball courts really added to our understanding. Again all of the information we received from Pancho made the experience perfect.
This was the best part of our eight day vacation and I can not recommend it enough.
