Experience the legendary Maya ruins of Chichen Itza with a guided tour of the archeological site. Learn about the Maya people and their enduring influence on Mexican culture. After the tour head to Cenote Maya Park and descend to swim in an underground cenote that is 197-feet (60-meters) wide before trying out the Tarzan Swing and other activities.

What to Expect


06:00 to 07:30 a.m.      Pick-up at hotels in the Riviera Maya or Cancun. To be the first arriving to Chichen Itza, we offer transportation for small groups without commercial stops.

09:30 to 10:00 a.m.      Arrival at Chichen Itza (approximately time).

Chichen Itza (2:15 hours guided tour at the archaeological site).

Visit the ancient mayan city of Chichen Itza, meaning "water well of the Itzan people”. It was the outstanding capital of the mayan area and the worship center most revered. Walk through remarkable buildings and get detailed explanations provided by your expert guide during the tour.

01:30 p.m. Arrival at Cenote Maya (approximately time).

Cenote Maya (2:30 hours at the park).

  • Visit and refresh yourself at the Cenote Maya: Descend into the region’s most impressive Cenote of 60 m diameter and an almost perfect circular shape. Swim in crystal clear waters and admire its rock formations. This is the biggest cenote with dome in the Yucatan Peninsula found so far. Ascend from the underworld through a tunnel or use the large wooden staircase.
  • Optional included adventure activities. Swimming, diving, Trepachanga (ropes), Tarzan vine and rappel down 26 m (85 feet). 264 lbs is the maximum weight for the rappel activity.
  • Maya ritual. Be part of an authentic Mayan blessing ceremony that will be performed by a local shaman.
  • Traditional meal. Enjoy a traditional menu including soup, chicken, vegetables, rice, beans and hand-made tortillas.

06:30 to 07:00 p.m.      Drop-off at hotels in Riviera Maya or Cancun (approximately time).

 The expedition includes: Transportation for small groups (maximum 19 people), traditional lunch, water, continental breakfast on board, archaeological tour guide, entrance fee to Chichen Itza, equipment required for activities, umbrellas during the Chichen Itza tour, towel and lockers.

 Recommendations: Bring comfortable shoes, fresh clothing, bathing suit, hat, extra shirt and cash or credit card for crafts and photos.
