Cancun Cenote Tour: Snorkeling, Rappelling and Ziplining
USD 118.99
Overview

Go deep into the Yucatan jungle for a full-day adventure that combines cenote swimming, snorkeling, 4-wheeling, and ziplining, with a Maya lunch and shaman-led purification ceremony. Since the day—which includes return transportation from Cancun—blends adventure and culture, you’ll get a taste of Maya traditions while exploring pools and caves that are part of the world’s longest underground river system.

What to Expect

Meet a driver at your hotel in Cancun, then travel to the Maya community of Rancho San Felipe to start the day with a traditional purification ceremony led by a local shaman.

Next, head into the jungle to find the Sac Actun cenote system, where you’ll don snorkeling gear for a swim through the cavern of Nohoch Nah Chich, with stalactites and stalagmites above and below the water. Go even farther into the forest on a 4WD Mercedes-Benz Unimog, then rappel 40 feet (12 meters) into Yaxmuul, another underground pool. Get up into the treetops on a series of three ziplines for a swooping descent from the forest canopy back into the water.

Following your time in the jungle, discover the flavors of Maya cuisine at a lunch buffet, then finish the day with return transfer to your original departure point.

We picked this excursion for the variety of the activities and the fact that it wasn't a full day. Our guide was Manuel and he was fantastic. We all enjoyed the rappelling, ziplining, and snorkeling through the caves.. The Mayan lunch was delicious and the...More

Day of Activities

I really enjoyed this activity! Zip lining through the Tulum forest was breathtaking, the snorkeling part is done in this private, preserved cave and is gorgeous, the rapeling is quick, but exhilarating, and the tour of the pyramids was neat. The pyramids were not as...More
