Wonderful learning experience about history and architecture of Mexico City
We had an incredible experience with our guide during our half-day tour of Mexico City. His deep knowledge of the city’s history and architecture truly brought the sights to life. From the intricate details of the colonial buildings to the rich stories behind ancient landmarks, he painted a vivid picture of Mexico City's past. He was also incredibly patient, answering all our questions with enthusiasm. We left the tour with a newfound appreciation for the city’s cultural heritage and architectural splendor. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and passionate guide about history and architecture, we highly recommend him!

      Excellent, personalized experience.
The tour was perfect. It was just my teen, the tour guide, and me. We got a personalized experience that went at the right pace and allowed us to see and learn things we would never have seen or learned on our own. The tour guide Marisol spoke excellent English, was friendly, and well informed.

      Great tour!
Adriana is a superb tour guide! We had a great time together. I enjoy photography and she had multiple great locations around the city for me to photograph. I highly recommend this tour!

      A warm welcome to CDMX
You know you’ve hit the taco jackpot when locals are lining up outside the door! Ingrid showed us some great spots, and modified the tour to leave us close to our AirBnb at the end. We found ourselves inviting her to come visit us in the states as we said goodbye. We would definitely recommend both Ingrid and the taco tour to anyone who loves authentic regional food!

      Unique Experience!!!
Prompt (4:40 am start), professional, warm, informative, well organized and an exceptionally unique experience!! April was as attentive to details (bathroom breaks/suggestions) as she was patient, kind, polite and soared the whole day with a wide smile and positivity :) Thank you April for your stellar service!! Arrival and brief wait for baloon preparations was done in a cozy warm room upstairs from take off field. Coffee, cookies, water, tea and restrooms available while waiting. Flight is peaceful and MAJESTICALLY GLIDES over the site with DOZENS of balloons!! See pics for an idea of this stunning backdrop! Breakfast was also well organized and offered a wide variety of options… That being said, the food was mostly lunch oriented (beans, rice, baked chicken, frilled veggies etc) and not so much in breakfast options. Brief stop at souvenir/tequila tasting was an added bonus for shoppers. Guides walked us through the site in about 1.5 hrs. Layer up and leave warm clothing in car! Temperature increased tremendously throughout the tour. Balloon ride is chilly - Archeological Site is VERY sunny and HOT. Would highly recommend for walkers and those looking for something different 👍🏽 Hope this helps :)

Market and Taco Tour with Marisol!
Marisol took us on an amazing tour of an off-the-beaten-path market, with stops for us to try food from stalls and taquerias that only locals would know about. She was warm, engaging, and full of information about the history of the areas we explored. Thanks from our family, Marisol!

We had an incredible experience with Roberto in Mexico City! He was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home. His knowledge of local culture, history, and current issues really enriched our understanding of the city. Instead of just taking us to the typical tourist spots, he guided us through vibrant neighborhoods, and shared stories that brought the city to life. The highlight, was the food! He took us to amazing local taquerias we never would have found on our own. Every bite was a culinary adventure! Roberto’s enthusiasm, expertise, and personalized approach made the tour unforgettable. If you’re looking for an authentic and engaging experience in Mexico City, this guide is a must! Highly recommended.

      Excellent tour of city markets!!
Ingrid was amazing! I changed my itinerary at the last minute but she was able to get me to all the markets for food, art and silver jewelry. Along the way she taught me how to navigate the city’s public transportation which is a great way to get around! Highly recommend the tour and Ingrid!!!

Half day tour of Museum of Anthropology and Chapultepec Park
We had such a fun time with Adriana! Just enough history and culture at the Museum of Anthropology so we don’t feel ignorant, and then a lovely walk through the park looking at the Botanical Garden talking about plants (which I could do all day!) Highly recommend!

      Tour the real Mexico City
Marisol was a great tour guide. She is an architect so she was able to provide a lot of history/context for our Metro Cathedral tour. We also toured La Merced Marketplace which was fascinating to experience.

      Great guide!
Lu was fantastic! She tailored an itinerary around our interests and even sent it to us the evening before our tour; checking to make sure it was in line with what we were hoping for. She is very knowledgeable about both the history of Mexico City as well as local culture. Lu did a great job weaving in stories of interest as we walked through the parks and neighborhoods. We highly recommend Lu! She’s very professional as a guide and is really a lovely, smart, ambitious young woman who loves México City and sharing her knowledge of it with others.

Shoutout to Alex - an excellent guide who (literally) went the extra mile. Couldn’t have hoped for a better first day in Mexico City, and it’s a must do if you’re visiting for the first time.

This is the first time we have booked with City Unscripted as we wanted to pick where we went for our tour. Alan was our guide for the day and he made this tour exactly to our interests. Alan was the most knowledgeable guide we had in Mexico, he knew everything about everything it didn't matter what topic we threw at him he was able to discuss and give us the history and cultural perspectives. Alan went out of his way to ensure the tour was accommodating to our needs, which included taking us to find a napolas necklace, which included a couple of markets. Alan took us on an ecological experience on our floating gardens adventure and then we headed to the flower markets where the flowers actually come from the floating gardens, This is where I was in heaven, if you love bonsai, cactus, or really flowers from any description you MUST go here, it is truly magic. Alan then took us to the university and the sculpture scene shaped like a volcano, which was also great to see and hear about, then he went once again out of his way to detour past Frida Kahlo house and museum filling us in on the history. Alan knew everything about everything to do with Mexico and was so enjoyable having conversations with him. If you want a personal experience please ask for Alan, I will definitely book with City Unscripted on our next holiday.

Our day with Alan Tanus was wonderful! Not only was he completely accommodating, but he was also incredibly knowledgeable, accessible and so much fun to be with. We had a unique, “untouristy” experience and we truly felt that we got to experience the real Xochimilco with it’s rich history and wonderful people. (not the tourist trap on the other side of the lake) I cannot praise him enough and I will most definitely be looking for City Unscripted in my future travels. My only regret is that we met Alan on our last day here—I would have definitely booked more experiences with him.

Alan Tunas was really familiar with the history of CDMX and intellectual conversation was very interesting as well. He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of patience while explaining and answering any additional questions I had! I love his free spirit and knowledge of indigenous practices as well. CDMX did not disappoint and appreciate the interests that my tour guide paid attention to as well.

I had never booked any experiences through Tripadvisor, this was the first (and would have to think twice before trying it again) since the tour never materialized. I paid on the 29th of December and received an email, indicating that I would get an email with a survey and more details "shortly" to custom our PRIVATE & PERSONALIZED tour.
Never heard from anybody back. Since our tour was scheduled for the 1st of January, I got concerned and tried to contact the operator and the guide the day prior, the 31st of December. Again, no reply.
I finally got a communication at 10:40 am of the "day of" the tour which was scheduled for 12:00 noon. By that time, I had already made other plans and cancelled it trough my CC.
Overall, it was very unfortunate and disappointing. Most of all, unprofessional.
Hopefully, someone from the coordinating company reads this message and can fix this so that it doesn't happen again.

We had a great time with Roberto, he has a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area. Roberto also pointed out an incredible seafood restaurant that we had the best meal during our stay.

Hello 1AlanP Great to hear Roberto not only gave you a great Xochimilso experience, but also helped your taste buds get the best seafood in Mexico City. It's lovely to hear he shared his knowledge and passion for the city and floating gardens with you. We hope to host you again, in not in Mexico City, then in any of our 60 cities worldwide. A pleasant and surprising walk with a thousand colors and typical atmospheres. Lots of traffic on the canal but overall it’s smooth! It’s perfect for a family outing.
