Overview
Experience a side of Mexico City rarely available to visitors by watching a lucha libre (wrestling) match with a former luchador. After a mezcal tasting at a nearby pub, your guide gives you a tour of Arena Mexico with an insider’s perspective. During the show, your guide teaches you the rules and storylines of the sport, and answers all your questions as they arise.
Highlights
  • Go with a former luchador: Learn about the sport from an insider
  • Enjoy a mezcal and guacamole tasting before the show
  • Let the luchador guide navigate crowds and the arena for you
  • Admission ticket and souvenir lucha libre mask included
What to Expect
Start the evening at a local pub near the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) in the heart of downtown Mexico City. With a former luchador as your guide, listen to insider stories about the wrestlers' lives and careers as you enjoy a tasting of mezcal and guacamole. Next, head to the Arena Mexico, often called the “cathedral of lucha libre.” Gain a perspective rarely available to visitors, as you take a tour of the arena. Going with a former luchador may afford you the opportunity to meet the wrestlers before the show. As the fight begins, your guide explains the rules and characters of the sport, which can be confusing without proper context. Since the show ends after dark, the guide navigates public transit or arranges a taxi for you (own expense).

Lucha libre was in the top three of our things to do in Mexico City, Usually we don't join tours and arrange everything by ourselves. This time we had decided otherwise and...certainly no regrets! We went on 5/11. Good experience, the mezcal tasting in a small mezqualeria as
