  • Travel from Mexico City with a guide on an air-conditioned mini-van or bus
  • Learn about the architecture and culture of Mexico’s central highlands

What to Expect
Meet your guide in Mexico City and enjoy the scenic bus ride to the Morelos state capital to see why Cuernavaca is called “The City of the Eternal Spring.” Stroll the colonial city’s cobblestone streets and visit its historical landmarks. You’ll stop at the Cuernavaca Cathedral—among Mexico’s oldest Catholic cathedrals—and the Palacio de Cortés, which is named for the conquistador who ordered its construction. From Cuernavaca, you’ll re-board the bus and travel to Taxco, a picturesque hillside city renowned for its silver. There, you can in the city’s Old World ambiance while exploring the narrow, winding streets between tile-roofed buildings. Stop at the ornate Santa Prisca church, which was built by French immigrant Jose de la Borda in 1759 after he discovered an impressive silver spring. Before hopping on the bus back to Mexico City, shop for souvenirs at Taxco’s famous artisan silver markets.

We were picked up at 155 Liverpool at about 6:30 am to go to Cuernavaca and Taxco in one day. This is a popular tour so Amigo tours used a large coach to get us around. The first city we went to was Cuernavaca which means eternal spring as apparently it has perfect weather.
