- Kay7490 contributionsTerrific TourJoss did a great job leading our tour. The food tour part of the experience was fun, but the experience was also a great walking tour of the district, as Joss pointed out many important sites as we walked along. We ended up going back to two of the locations on the food tour for a second helping!Written 2 December 2024
- alma_arredondoambriz0 contributionsCoyoacán, full of charm!Wow, visiting Coyoacán with a local was wonderful! Jimena, our guide, did an excellent job showing us the neighborhood and sharing how Mexicans enjoy an authentic day strolling through its beautiful streets. Highly recommended for trying different Mexican dishes and experiencing the local cuisine.Written 2 December 2024
- 378inesf0 contributionsSo much fun!We had a really good time trying the different foods and learning about Mexican history. I would definitely recommend it! Our guide Tania was lovely and she even had a surprise for us at one of the restaurants (as we told her in the beginning of the tour it's our honeymoon).Written 2 December 2024
- S3473PXdeank0 contributionsFantastico!Fantastic food tour around Centro Historico in Mexico City! Our guide Joss was so full of energy and fun and we had so much wonderful food - from fine restaurants to markets to street stalls (the seafood tostadas were Amazing!) - and even tried grasshoppers! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!Written 1 December 2024

- D8177TFjackiem0 contributionsAmazing TourOur tour included another family, but they canceled last minute so we had the luxury of getting a private tour without having to pay the private tour fee. Our guide Joss was so kind, helpful, patient, and flexible. In between restaurants, we would stop at historical sites and received an explanation as to why these sites matter, and their impact on Mexican history. So we received more than just a food tour. All of the food was delicious, and it all taught us a lot about the history of Mexico and what was commonly eaten before modern times. I do not recommend this if you are a picky eater, but would recommend it 100% to everyone else.Written 1 December 2024
- 47percyd0 contributionsGastronomy 101I originally thought that this was going to be just a taco crawl around the historic area. I was totally wrong. We visited a variety of locations, including some stops in the historic market where we had various specialties of the house. We had everything from fresh fruit salads to carnitas, moles, wild meats (boar), ceviche and the list went on. While walking to each new locale our guide gave us the history of the area, pointed various points of interest and talked about the lifestyle and vibe of the neighborhood. Our guide Tania was the best, she was always ready for any questions we had and her knowledge of the gastronomy of the food we were eating was amazing. Tania ensured we were all having a great time and her attitude was infectious amongst the group. She really liked her job and enjoyed sharing her knowledge. I would totally recommend this tour and the handout and map will be great to use to go back and visit more of the areas foods.Written 30 November 2024

- X6518BJstaceya0 contributionsThe best experience I have ever hadJoss was very kind. I was a little skeptical because I was the only one on the tour, but she made the experience very enjoyable. I got to learn about the culture of the food while also tasting it. The food was very delicious. The tour was amazing once we got to each place the food was there ready for the tasting. I would definitely recommend this tour to others and it made my first experience in Mexico the best. My favorite food I tasted was the tostadas.Written 25 November 2024

My husband and I really enjoyed this Food Tour. Our guide was charming, knowledgeable and well prepared. The food and beverage selections were thoughtful and even though I have been living in Mexico eating and eating and eating for the last 11 months something entirely new to me in the world of tamales was introduced at Cafe de Raiz. Though the stop at Vegan Pitahaya was not on the original plan the beet juice colored tortillas and mushroom al pastor were inspired. The only comment/suggestion is to add a food demonstration in addition to the coffee shop exhibition. Thank you for a lovely afternoon in Roma.

I really enjoyed the food on the tour, which was generous in terms of the amount, and all very tasty - it was great to be able to try lots of new foods, and I especially enjoyed the vegan tacos and the coffee shop at the end. Grace (our guide on the day) was excellent - very friendly and approachable, she provided some really interesting explanations about bits of the city as we walked through the area, which was an unexpected but much appreciated bonus. I'd definitely recommend this as an experience; be sure to turn up with a good appetite!

This food tour with Stephanie was incredible. We were guided through multiple courses of delicious dishes made by a variety of local chefs in restaurants located throughout the neighbourhood. Stephanie regaled us with her knowledge of history and architecture during our brief but brisk walks from location to location. This tour is an excellent way to become acquainted with lesser known Mexican dishes (mexicain cuisine is designated a cultural treasure by UNESCO) that you wouldn’t know to try or even when to try. The tour finished with a delicious coffee tasting at a local cafeteria with a knowledgeable barista.
The vibe of the tour is easy-going and Stephanie had no issue adjusting as we went along based on people’s preferences. She even managed to navigate with a guest who is intolerant to cilantro (which is saying something). Overall 11/10 would recommend (especially with Stephanie as your guide) to anyone looking for an introduction to Mexican food.

This tour is not just about delicious, authentic, creative food, its about the soul and intention behind it. You will eat lots of amazing things, you will hear incredibly inspiring stories. Our tour guide Luis was super friendly, attentive on every step of the way. Making it all come together seamlessly and with joy. He knows his stuff about food, having received a full culinary education and worked in different parts of the world. Most importantly, being born and raised in the city, he is fully immersed in local community, culture and culinary world and shares it all while you stroll from one amazing place to another, taking in the whole experience of this part of the city. I tasted so many new things, interesting combinations, simply delicious food and drinks. I was moved by the stories that were shared. It's an amazing value on all levels that is on offer here. Go for it!

We were visiting Mexico City from London for the first time and Enya provided an excellent tour of some great hidden gems in the Roma area. She was very friendly and knowledgable and ensured everyone within the diverse group of people on our tour had a good time. Mexico City is a place where it definitely pays off to have someone showing you the best places. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. Thanks Enya!

Luis was awesome. He was knowledgeable not only about the food, the restaurants, and the chefs, but also he was super knowledgeable about the neighborhood, Mexico's history, and even art and architecture. They were also able to accommodate dietary restrictions and vegetarians. I'd recommend this tour and tour company to anyone going to Mexico city who is interested in food.

One of the highlights of my trip! The tour showcased a variety of locally owned successful shops and a variety of types of food. Our tour guide Luis was an obvious foodie with a wealth of knowledge around the food we tried and many restaurants we walked past. He also included cool details about the architecture and history of some buildings we passed. Overall, the four hours felt like two and it was a fabulous experience. Well worth the price.

This was a wonderful tour! Luis did a great job as a guide. He was so friendly, informative, and taught us a lot about each restaurant, each food, each drink, and just the entire neighborhood in general. I really did learn a lot today! It lasted a little over 4 hours and there was plenty of walking but nothing too strenuous. I would absolutely do this tour again or choose one of the other tours they offer. It’s great value for your money. Thanks Luis!!

Our guide, Enya, was amazing! She kept the adults and children (11 and 8 yrs old) engaged and interested and knew so much about both La Roma and it's history and architecture and the restaurants and their delicious, unique cuisines. The restaurants we visited were beautiful and covered a wide variety of flavors. I highly recommend this tour for foodies and picky people alike!

Great food, and a lovely walk through the Colonia Roma area. Our guide Miara gave us interesting info about some of the notable structures that we passed on our walk from one restaurant to another. I am a vegetarian and this tour had great substitutes, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Miara also made sure I got juice/mocktail substitutes in places where alcoholic drinks were served. Pleanty of food and learnt a lot of new dishes. Highly recommended!
