We did this tour in Jan. 2020. The enjoyable parts were the stop at Coyoacan, the interesting Frida Kahlo Museum and the fun boat trip at Xochimilco. By the afternoon it began raining a bit so we passed on the National Univesity stop to go back to our hotel. The best part was being able to bypass the long lines at the Frida Kahlo museum in order to go right in with the tour group. The not so enjoyable parts were the long waits just to leave in the morning, making several stops and sitting and waiting for the tours to get organized, which took about an hour or more in the morning. Then each stop allowed extra time for you to explore on your own, which is great, but I think everyone felt like it was too long and just ended up with everyone waiting around for the next stop. Ubers are very inexpensive in Mexico City, so unless you really want to see all of these sites, I'd recommend getting advance tickets to Frida Kahlo to avoid the lines, and take an Uber just to the sites you wish to see to avoid an entire day of waiting around from stop to stop.

Fantastic tour if you want to waste a full day being shuttled around with 50 other people learning absolutely nothing and spending 90% of your time at random locations that are NOT famous destinations all while starving to death because there’s no planned time for food from 8am to well past 3pm.
You start off getting shuttle to an actual tourist trap, a shop where dedicated people sell you overpriced souvenirs where you are forced to spend an hour. This shop is in the opposite direction of Coyoacan (it’s in Guerrero) so you waste well over 2 hours going here and getting scammed.
Next you go to Coyoacan for the Frida Kahlo museum. You only get 1 hour which is not enough time to see both the museum and the town so you’re going to have to pick.
Next they take you to the University of Mexico and spend more than an hour explaining random details on one random mural in the school while you bake in the sun. This was not included in the itinerary when you book this tour so it’s clearly meant to fill and waste your time.
Finally the last stop is Xochimilco for the boat ride, presumably what most people signed up on this tour for and the only reason we didn’t leave part way through. This experience was actually quite nice. However by this time it was 4/4:30pm and it was our first meal of the day. After arriving we also noticed it’s really easy to show up and book your own boat experience for cheaper since there are a lot of boats on standby.
It’s worth mentioning that the tour is conducted in both Spanish and English but rather than separating the groups it’s just one guide that repeats everything twice while everyone listens. The information that the guide shares is NOT interesting history about Mexico City but more so random facts like “the hands on this mural represents Jesus and there is a goat in the corner and there are some globes with earth and sun”.
If you’re mostly interested in the Frida Kahlo museum and the Xochimilco boat ride like we were, I would HIGHLY recommend going to both locations on your own. The museum + boat + Ubers would be much cheaper than what this tour costs.

I don’t usually write reviews because some things are inevitable however, this tour is go, go, go and in a bad way. For the amount of money it costs, you would think at one point you would get 5 minutes to yourself to get a coffee or even maybe shop a bit in the different areas. Everything felt rushed and half of the day was spent on a bus on the 3 different 50 minute trips we had to take.

The food offered on the crappy boat ride, first off they made it sound like it was included. Second, it was about 5x higher priced than any local restaurant I visited in Mexico City, and to top things off, not good.

Everything we did, didn’t sum up to the amount that we paid and having to pay even more for food made it that much worse.

Do yourself a favor and plan a day yourself taking cheap ubers to these places and buying tickets to the frida museum and you’ll be much better off.

Good afternoon. Our staff provide the service according of the information provided on the web. The Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo Museum plus Xochimilco and National University Tour is a shared service for this reason all the customer must be respect the free time and the itinerary. As the same way, the Tour not includes the lunch and. At each place the guide provide the inclusions or exclusions of the service. In Xochimilco we provide the lunch in the trajinera, because Xochimilco is a big lake and there is no restaurant around. However no customer is compelled to eat in this place. Regards. Amigo Group.

I bought a tour on the Trip Advisor website (Booking Reference:1163871072) for The tour Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo Museum plus Xochimilco and National University. I went to the meeting point(NH Reforma Hotel) where I found the guide on the time. I got on the bus with him and the other people. I showed him several times the ticket with the reference number and the Name of the places i'm going to (the tour was to Frida Kahlo Museum,Coioacán And Xochimilco).
He asked me to wait inside the bus.
When he came to explain to me about the tour he started explaining to me about another tour that wasn't mine. He got confused and put me on the wrong bus ,and when he realized his mistake,he said he had nothing to do and told me to get off the bus in the middle of the city center in a super strange and dangerous place.
I tried to contact the agency's emergency number, where this imcompetent gentleman works, and the attendant told me to contact Trip Advisor.Only by phone is impossible!!
I demand my money back. I only had two days in town and I lost my day because of this absurd situation.
I hope Trip advisor solves my problem in the best possible way.

Where to start, well as Julie Andrews says “let’s start at the very beginning.
The pickup location was a cluster ( you know what). So disorganized and confusing.
First stop, Coyoacàn, quaint little town but sadly we were rushed through it so fast you couldn’t take anything in.
Next stop, the University. This was not on the list nor did we really want to see it. But we had no choice.
Then on to Xochinilco the highlight of the trip. Sadly it goes by to fast.
And this is where we took an Uber back to Mexico City. The next stop was to be Frida Kahlo museum. We did not purchased tickets for the Frida Kahlo Museum as part of our trip package, but we were expected to sit around and wait for an hour while those who did.
This is where it gets ugly. The booking states clear Covid protocols. None of which were followed. When I addressed the tour guide about the lack of mask wearing on the bus he made a half ass attempt of telling everyone to wear one. Then he literally stood at the bus door watching people get on the bus without their mask. After I brought that to his attention once again he finally made a real effort to ensure that people were wearing their mask. But of course there’s always a handful of idiots would take them off as soon as he turned his back. I did not see one drop of sanitizer on the bus or tour guides taking any type of sanitation protocol. I would highly recommend that you find another Tour company for this one lacks credibility.

Good tour with very knowledgable guides. We had Emmanuel and he was excellent. Explained in both English and Spanish equally which was great.

We were collected at 8.50am. Met outside the Palace of Fine Arts. There is no sign so there was a lot of clueless tourists gathered around 8.30am, when we all realised we were in the right spot.

First stop was a ‘market’/souvenir shop which we felt wasn’t needed to be honest. Wasted 30 minutes so could have avoided that. We then went to Coyacán and were given excellent information of its history. From there we walked to the Frida Kahlo museum. This was excellent - self guided but information in English and loads of pictures and artefacts to look at. It was busy but well managed.
Buses picked us back up then and we headed to the University of Mexico. We didn’t think this would be much but it actually surprised us with the history of the murals, the olympics in the stadium and the stories associated with the murals around the university grounds. We then walked back to the bus and about 30 minutes later we arrived at Xochimilco. Make sure to have 5 pesos in change to use the toilets! We boarded the boats, which are a beautiful colourful sight. Our boat was a mixture of Spanish/English speaking but a lot of the boat workers speak Spanish so we mixed the small chat. Drinks and food are extra (200 peso for the food) and unfortunately we would not recommend it. We expected rich Mexican flavours but it was quite bland. A mariachi band boarded the boat at one stage and to listen to them, they asked for 50 pesos per person. We agreed but realised after that if only a few people paid they would still pay. It was still nice to hear and experience. The boat lasted around 1 hour. Bus back then took about an hour and a half with traffic. Overall I would recommend this tour but be away of extra money. Emmanuel was an excellent guide who was very informative and was lovely and fun throughout the whole day.

The tour guide was excellent. I’m just a little frustrated because I only have 48 hours in Mexico and I didn’t sign up to waste 4 hours of my day at the Artesanías store (1st stop) and the University. We ended up getting to Xochimilco at 2pm. Keep in mind the tour started at 9am. So that was 5 hours of being stuck in places I’m not interested in. Once in Xochimilco, and this is something they should disclose in advance, you will be forced to buy lunch and pay for mariachi music since the service is offered to everyone on board the “Trajinera”. I’ve been taking care of myself during the pandemic but if you’re going on this tour please know once onboard the Trajinera (boat) no one will care about wearing a mask, there will be no social distancing and you’ll share appetizers with strangers. My actual entree was passed by at least 8 people before it got to me. They all literally grabbed my plate to pass it to me. The food is very low quality. My mom had a hair in her food and was very disgusted by it.

I think they should spend less time at the University or that Artesanía shop and spend more time in Coayacan. We only got like an hour in Coayacan.

For those thinking about adding Frida Kahlo to the tour: save the extra $20 and just buy your ticket online. Everyone will be dropped off there regardless if they add the museum or not. So instead, just buy your tickets online for 4pm admission and it’ll cost you $5 (or less depending if you have kids, seniors or students in your party… could be free) instead of the $20 more per person this company charges.

I would only recommend this tour if you’re a solo traveler without another way to do Xochimilco with a group. Otherwise, you don’t get much bang for your buck on this tour. To start, this tour takes you on what I thought was a rather unnecessary stop to a University first. Although this might have previously been an interesting stop, because the University has been closed for 2+ years now due to Covid, the environment was rather dull and I didn’t feel it added much.

Instead, what I and most of the group I was with would have preferred was more time in Xochimilco. The Xochimilco portion itself was amazing. It really is more fun to experience this with a group and I wish it were a couple of hours on the water. Instead, we spent about 1.5 hours on this stop which really felt rushed given how much fun it is to eat, drink, and listen to mariachis. I was a bit disappointed that the English-speaking guide did not provide any commentary during this portion of the trip, while the Spanish-speaking guide did. Also noted is that the trip does not include any complimentary food or bev. Given that trajineras can be rented for $25/hour per GROUP, this tour charging $30 is a bit steep all things considered.

This brings me to the last stop at the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacan. Because of how late in the day we arrived in this area, massive amounts of traffic made it difficult to have as much time as the area warrants. Again, cutting out the University trip and adding more time to both Xochimilco/Coyoacan would be awesome. If you have your own group of 4+, I’d recommend just doing Xochimilco and Coyoacan on your own! Transportation is very affordable in CDMX. For solo travelers, though it might not be perfect, I appreciated the tour providing me an opportunity to experience Xochimilco with a group.

Our tour guide Alicia was informative and fun, but the tour itself left a lot to be desired. I wasn't aware in advance that our first stop would be a silver shop, which was not really relevant to the rest of the tour.

We only had an hour at Xochimilco which definitely wasn't enough time to appreciate the environment. Because our next stop was Coyoacan it would have made sense for us to be allowed to find lunch on our own at either Xochimilco or Coyoacan, but instead we were brought to a restaurant halfway between the two stops which was honestly not good and pretty expensive. There were also tons of other restaurants in this area but we were really only given the option to eat at this one, even though the lunch wasn't included in the price?

We were also told that it would take 20 minutes to get to the restaurant but it actually took about an hour, meaning that we were short on time and the university tour in Coyoacan was cancelled.

This didn't bother me because I had purchased the optional Frida Kahlo Museum tickets, but many people who hadn't purchased museum tickets seemed confused as to why they had been brought to Coyoacan with us at all and left the tour early. We were only allowed an hour in the museum before the bus took us back, meaning that in our day that started at 7:50a and ended around 6p we only did two hours of the actual activities we signed up for.

Both Xochimilco and the Frida Kahlo Museum are wonderful, must-see destinations in CDMX, but I recommend figuring out your own transport and doing these on your own rather than booking the tour, or at least this tour specifically.

Our tour pick up place was four blocks from our hotel. When we checked in, the tour guide could not find our reservation which was pre-booked through Orbitz. Luckily the tour guide was able to confirm it 10 minutes later. We had the same issue on an earlier tour during the week with the same tour company. At boarding time we were told we had to walk to our bus, which we ended up walking four blocks to the pick up spot. We were told that the bus was not able to park at the original pick up spot due to city transit regulations. Not sure it it was true but that was their story. Next our tour did not include the Frida museum entrance but the tour guide offered the option to buy tickets separate, which I purchased online through the tour company’s web page. I received an email confirmation with minutes of purchase, which I presented to the the tour guide but was told I had to move to the back of the line twice until he received a confirmation via email from the tour company before letting us in the museum. My spouse and I ended up waiting about 15 minutes before our tour guide received a confirmation from the tour company. Please note there is an additional $30 pesos fee at the entrance, if you want to take pictures inside the museums. Not sure why the fee is not included in the ticket price. Overall the tour was just ok. There are other tour companies that offer the same tour services. We actually ended up using three different tour companies for other tours and Gray Line Mexico City had the best service and tour guide.
