          Great experience.
This tour was really fun! An opportunity to experience Mexico outside the tourist zone and to support some local businesses.

          Interesting History
Our tour guide Erik was awesome. He gave small history lessons throughout the trip and the drive out there. He even stopped to get some jack fruit for us to try, which was interesting but good. Stop 1 was at a small roadside store where they made fresh pressed tortilla for us. The toppings were simple but good. (Lettuce, cheese, salsa, mexican caviar) Stop 2 was a stop at a local tequila distillery. We sampled 6 tequilas, which were all yummy. My wife even enjoyed a couple Stop 3 was a stop at an opel store, which was neat but a tad overpriced. Stop 4. we stopped at a coffee place that grows their own coffee beans. The vanilla chocolate was to die for. Finally, we stopped at the silver mining town San Sebastian, which was full of history and a neat church to visit. The meal we had there was tortillas with meat, rice, and mexican caviar. And a glazed piece of chicken. The meal was great. It would have been nice to have more time in town to adventure around, cause in the end there was only 30-40 minutes to see the town, which is not enough. San Sebastian would be a good half day trip to spend in the town

Great overview of PVR and outskirts
Great experience. Provided a whole spectrum tour. Got picked up at the hotel. First stop was the chocolate factory downtown and the visit to the church was quite moving. Experienced both the upscale route and also the local traditional and lower income areas. Great caring tour guide. Nice stop on top of the mountain at a restaurant in the mountain.

          Amazing terrain
Amazing experience!!!! I'd do it again and again and again. From the ride to the destination this was well worth the trip. Didn't spend much time at the resort with so much to see. Great nature exploration.

          Don't do this!!!
We were told this was 5-6 hours long, and it was a tour of the city. It was 9 hours long, 3-4 hours longer than scheduled! We quickly realized this wasn't a city tour. We were taken to specific places to purchase leather, candy, tequila, and jewelry, and to eat at a restaurant. We were given one 30-minute "walk around" time and one "you have 15 minutes to walk the boardwalk to get on the bus." Other than that our time was controlled by the above shopping/restaurant. The restaurant we were taken to had a very narrow selection of 5-6 items and I don't see BBQ chicken, baked potato, and steamed cauliflower/broccoli as "authentic." We should have had a choice of restaurants or the meal should have been included in the price of the tour. When visitors to your city leave and this is the impression that you give, that your commission from these specific places is more important than showing off your city, your visitors feel scammed out of their vacation day, and thats the story they go home and tell others about.

          Better ways to spend vacation
Our tour guide Juan had big opinions on capitalism and city developments that he could not let go of during the tour. We spent 9 hours (was supposed to be 6) "seeing the city" from our bus seat. We got a total of 35 minutes to walk around freely between 2 locations; the rest was time spent at shops where I am sure they earn a commission. What was supposed to be a downtown tour, ended about an hour and thirty minutes away on the side of a mountain with no service and crappy food that we felt we had to eat because we were starved for 7.5 hours with no other options. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND, COMPLETE WASTE OF A DAY OF VACATION!!!! If you want to see downtown Puerto Vallarta, grab a taxi, go to the boardwalk, and walk around yourself.

          Transportation switch
This tour was not as promoted. We were told transport would be a comfortable van and the hotel pick up was in a nice van but we were switched at the port into an uncomfortable large bus with dirty windows that rattled so much we thought they would fly out any minute. The driver had trouble with the gears and shifting giving us a lurching ride, which was very far out of PV, onto a dusty single track road. While the tequila was good, we didn’t see any type of production or agave farm, just went right to the tasting. IMO, it was just a way to get us to a location with only one food option which was overpriced, not hot when served and not well prepared. The coffee factory was a collection of small shops, one selling coffee. It was a long, uncomfortable day that would have been better spent at the resort. Better to skip it.

A fascinating glimpse into Mexico's small town past
This tour was a very full day, and let us see a side of Mexico away from the big city. We did tequila tasting at a very charming distillery. The visit to the town of San Sebastian, a former mining town tucked way up in the hills, felt like time traveling. We enjoyed an excellent lunch when we arrived. We also got to visit a small coffee farm and jeweler. You should know it is a long drive up twisty mountain roads, so if you tend to get carsick, prepare yourself. Also the town of San Sebastian is all cobblestones with some very steep streets, so those who struggle on uneven surfaces would find the walking difficult. Our guide, Gustavo, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We would definitely recommend this tour.

          Waste of a day
This felt like a hostage situation. We were captive for 8 of the nine hours in the bus and had a total of 45 minutes to choose what we would like to do in town. To cap it off at the 6 hour mark it’s time for lunch where we had one place to choose from with a limited menu the for our group consisted mostly of Costco chicken. I would not recommend this to anyone. We toured a leather shop, silver store a candy store and a tequila distillery that the tour company made arrangements with and they very likely get kickbacks from.

          Total waste
This ended up being a 9 hour tour! It wasted an entire day! We were a captive audience for the stores they took us to. We only got a total of 45 minutes of the 9 hours to explore on our own. The icing on the cake was not getting lunch until 3pm and being forced to eat at the only restaurant in the mountain town. And after that having to drive an hour and a half to get back to our hotel. We wished we had taken a taxi back from the boardwalk, because there was no escape once we headed up into the hills. It was another 4 hours. The tequila tasting I did on the boardwalk was better than the one in the mountain village. Don’t waste your time or money!

          Fabulous
Wonderful place, amazing gardens & trails, delightful restaurant & a gift shop selling better than average tableware & other goods. Find a good local driver, hire them for the day & include this place in a tour of the South side of the bay .

          Highly recommended tour
Vallarta Adventures were professional and reliable. We booked this tour in advance and online. The complete experience was fabulous and seamless. We enjoyed everything. The Mexican lunch was delicious, healthy homemade food, all made from scratch. The town of San Sebastián del Oeste is charming. The tequila and coffee tasting was also a lovely experience. Our bus driver, Oscar and our tour guide, Carlos were both super professional prudent. We had an enjoyable and informative experience, and we all felt safe at all times. Carlos was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about Mexican history relating to this magical town.

Enjoyed the day. Not awesome but was good day.
Was an enjoyable way to see some things around the city. The Malecon (boardwalk), church, and coffee stops were our favorites. The coffee was so good we bought some. The leather shop was kind of fun to see different hides. The jewelry place was too high end and not for us. The tequila tasting was fun. The first tastes are pretty harsh but get better as they go. The lunch at the end is very good but very pricey for Puerto Vallarta.
