As this is a private tour, you can customize your itinerary to suit your group’s tastes and interests, but the classic tour begins with a ride through downtown Puerto Vallarta. From there, cruise along the Malecon, a waterfront promenade, ride through the streets of the historic old town, and follow back roads out of the city. Travel through outlying villages, splash across rivers, and power up rugged jungle trails into the Sierra Madre Mountains. Take in the views over Puerto Vallarta, stop for drinks at a bar hidden deep in the jungle (own expense), or jump into a river to cool off. Then hop back on your ATV and end your tour at the original meeting spot in Puerto Vallarta.

- Guyfromsaskatchewan0 contributionsGreat tour. This was a great morning activity. Was cool so we didn't jump in the river but beautiful scenery and a cool way to see parts of PV we wouldn't have otherwise. If you can choose a guide we would highly recommend Edson he was super polite, professional and knowledgeable with any questions we had.Written 7 January 2025

We requested our ride with Edson as we had him last year and had a wonderful time. Edson is the absolute best!!! Fantastic guide, great person, and also provides cultural and historical information while on the tour. Highly recommend riding with Edson. We'll be back for sure!!!Written 7 January 2025
- 443jamim0 contributionsPick this trip! Our surf trip with Edison exceeded our expectations! He was super personable and a wonderful teacher. My partner and I were at different skill levels and he was able to teach us both at the same time. It was my first time surfing and I was able to catch several waves thanks to Edison! We will be surfing with him again when we are back in PV!Written 2 January 2025

He showed us the back country of Puerto Vallarta, including amazing mountain views, stops for food and drinks, as well as a river that we got to swim in! 10/10 experience and would definitely go again. Thanks, Edson!!!Written 12 December 2024
- Smels80 contributionsWorth every penny, this small private company is the way to go and make sure to ask for Edson! This is a must if you’re staying in PV or even near PV in Bucerias like we were. We did a private ATV tour with Edson and can’t say enough good things. Edson didn’t rush us, had excellent knowledge of where we were riding and took us to two awesome spots for a drink and some food. He encouraged us to stop and enjoy the amazing views and took the time to ensure we had a comfortable ride and most importantly everyone was safe. The tequila tasting at the end was a highlight as well, the place was pristine and the nachos and guacamole were phenomenal. We even got to see and pet a little pig who was very friendly. Thanks again Edson, the tour was worth every penny and I’m so happy you were our guide!Written 12 December 2024

- 939gregr0 contributionsThanksgiving surfing on Puerto VallartaMy daughter and I went with JC (Juan Carlo) during the week of Thanksgiving. We were staying in Puerto Vallarta and this one was of the excursions I had planned for the week. JC was awesome and he drove us up to La Lancha for our lesson. My daughter (17) and I (50) got up on the first wave and caught several waves during the lesson, even a few on our own. If you are staying in PV and want to go surfing Xiutla Riders is the way to go!Written 1 December 2024
- acex1230 contributionsPrivate ATV Tour with Good ValueThe problem with other ATV tours I've been on is that the group has to continuously stop and wait for the slower drivers to catch up. With this private tour, we were able to ride at a faster pace that we set. That was a lot of fun and adventuresome. Our guide provided easy to follow signals of what traffic & hazards were ahead. I highly recommend this over the group tours.Written 9 November 2024
- SavannahLauren0 contributionsAMAZING!Definitely a highlight during my time in PV! Franco was the best guide & made the experience so fun!! We loved getting to ride through smaller villages & through the jungle. The views are unmatched! You absolutely need to book a tour during your time in Pv!Written 5 November 2024
- Safari352538996870 contributionsAn outstanding tourWe were slightly nervous first-time ATVers, but our kids swore we'd love the tour, and they were right! Edson, our guide, made us feel comfortable with the vehicles right away, and with his help the afternoon was by turns thrilling, relaxing, and beautiful - a truly fun time! To start, we drove along many picturesque streets of Puerto Vallarta that we’d never seen before, then headed towards the mountains with breathtaking scenery all long the way! Our first stop was a sweet oasis with a shaded path towards pools by a waterfall where we could swim. On our way down the mountain we splashed through shallow rivers and giant mud puddles, if we liked, towards our second stop at a quaintly adorable little restaurant behind the owner’s home. The food was tasty and we had the opportunity to try some tequila if we wanted to. Heading down the mountain was so much fun as we felt quite confident and comfortable thanks to Edson’s care with the initial instructions and assistance along the departure route. The whole afternoon was an all around thrill and yes, we’d definitely do it again! Thanks Edson, we had such a fun time with you!Written 4 October 2024
- esegallewis0 contributionsGreat Experience! This tour was a blast! We originally signed up for the El Eden tour, which was set to take us to the set of the Predator film, but were given alternate tour options when we arrived. We opted to switch to one that was more scenic and off the beaten path - and were so glad we did! With it being the rainy season, we had a chance to splash through the river, go over bridges, and head into the mountains. Edson was an excellent guide. He made sure we were comfortable riding, and took time to share more about the different areas when we made stops. Our second stop was a small restaurant on the river, where we decided to grab lunch and chill for a bit. (The food was delicious!). Professional photos were taken along the way and turned out great, so ended up purchasing those as well. All in all, the crew and experience were both great- I would highly recommend!Written 30 September 2024

- yvrc20180 contributionsAwesome ATV experience!Had a great time on this approximately 3 hour ATV tour. Franco was a great guide! Knowledgeable and always kept us safe and personalized our trip based on our needs. One of our group member is a first-time ATV rider, but with Franco's instructions and care she was able to ride with ease mid-way in. Jose, our photographer is very friendly and also skilled. Unfortunately we do not have the budget to buy the photography package from him. Overall we had a really fun time. Don't hesitate to book your ATV tour with this company. I give the tour 10/10.Written 16 September 2024

We had an amazing tour with Auguestina on Tuesday Dec 31, 2019 to close out the year. My wife had never rode an ATV and when done with the tour was ready for the next level. Auguestina was energetic, knowledgeable, fun, and made us feel very safe during the trip.
Auguestina did a great video for us and took several family pictures. We did several tours during our trip and this one was #1. I highly recommend this tour, we will be back to do more with such an awesome tour company.

We had a blast winding through the streets of Puerto Vallarta and up into the mountains. Our guide thoroughly explained the do's and don't of driving the ATV's and was patient while we got the feel for driving them. We stopped at a beautiful restaurant with a waterfall, had to pull over and wait for a cow that was crossing the road, did a tequila testing and still had time to visit the location of Taylor/Burton's home and to climb an outlook tower for a beautiful view of the city and coast. Definitely more personable than a group tour and highly recommended. This was the highlight of our trip.

Being a first time 4-wheeling participant, I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a blast. Juan was our guide, working with us to ensure all gear was properly working (including a popped tire way up in the mountains) and that we were safely following him the whole way. I will say that a person should have a level of adventure because this tour does go down some real streets in Puerto Vallarta with real traffic. But, the mountain trails are beautiful, the visit to the restaurant and pool area up in the mountains a great experience and the equipment seemed to be all in very good working condition.

Absolutely one of THE BEST ways to enjoy classic Puerto Vallarta by land. All vehicles are in good condition with bilingual guides who are leading/following/protecting you the whole way. Quick drive thru quaint village neighborhoods and then following a river up into the mountains. We had an amazing storm the night before which washed all the ‘dust’ off the roads, and gave us some great puddles to plow thru if we chose to do so. Cecilia and Marco were our guides, along with Cesar as our ‘paparazzi’ for the whole trip. They truly looked after us like family and made sure each of us were in/on the proper vehicle based on our experience. It’s easy to
question tours in a foreign country without a personal recommendation, but this team made us feel very comfortable.
The halfway point led us to a family run restaurant and tequila tasting experience, with delicious food and cocktails and amazing views of the river and waterfalls. Our guides took some group pictures with our phones as our paparazzi moved on to another group once we were at the halfway ‘rest stop’.
Upon finishing our meals, we made the trek back thru the mountains and villages. Cecilia and Marco would occasionally stop and tell us when to switch gears, as well as encourage us to ‘have some fun’ and enjoy the ride.
Once returned back to the start point, Cesar had all our photos uploaded for us to view and either choose individual pics and videos, or option to buy them all which will be delivered via email within a few days.
10 out of 10- this tour was so enjoyed by a bunch of 50 year old girlfriends, but we all agreed our spouses and children would love this activity too!

We got a 4 hour ATV adventure in the Sierra Madres with the best guide ever. Agus was not only knowledgeable about the area, she showed us cool places, and surprised us with a stop at the end overlooking the entire city of Puerta Vallarta. The ATVs were super easy to use under Agus' instruction. One of the best days we spent on vacation.

Let me start by saying this was a good tour and we enjoyed it and our guide, Agus, was excellent. The photographer, Roberto, did a great job with the photos. However, it was not as the advertisement states and we were expecting more. We wish we would have been better informed as to our options, so there was a bit of disappointment. We never went downtown or cruised along the Malecon, but took back roads through the town and drove up a dirt road to a bar at a family ranch (not deep in the jungle) where we had drinks, a tequila demonstration and sales pitch, and ate a very expensive lunch. We were not told that if we chose to stay for a bit there that the rest of our tour would be riding back down the road to town. We never went up rugged jungle trails, splashed across rivers (or had the chance to swim in one), drove through outlying villages, or saw a view over Puerto Vallarta. If we had been better informed, we would have opted out of the ranch and had more riding time. I would recommend this tour for someone who wants to ride an ATV up a dirt road to an outdoor bar and eat lunch (enjoyable), but not to someone who wants to ride on jungle trails and swim in rivers, as that is not on this tour. I will add that the price quoted for the lunch, the tequila and the pictures were less than what actually converted onto our credit card. I would recommend paying the peso cash price and not using your credit card.

Hi Joelyn! How are you? This is Agus, let me start by thanking you for choosing our company for your holiday activities and hoping you enjoyed your overall stay in PV :) I'm a little confused about certain things you mentioned in the review and in the following lines I'll tackle those topics as thoroughly as possible.
To start with, if you check the tour description you'll see that we don't offer riding along the Malecón, and the choice of the backroads in the city was in order to keep you guys the safest possible by avoiding heavy traffic and jams (for as you know, it's very busy this time of the year).
Also, the dirtroad (Vallejo Mountain) that we drove up to is part of the Sierra Madre mountains: in order to get there, outlying villages can't be missed for there's only one road possible, which was the one that we took, slithering the Cuale river before going up the mountain.
In contrast, i'm sorry that the trails didn't meet your expectations, but please bare in mind that we are in dry season and, consequently, rivers have less water and the scenarios are more brownish, that's something that's beyond our control :( However, if you'd like to see PV in its full splendor, I suggest you to visit the city in rainy season (between May and November)... I'm sure you'll love it!
Another important thing to clarify is communication, because when we got to the ranch, before the person in charge of the ranch took you in for the activities, I recall mentioning you guys about the river and the natural pools in the facility. I apologise if I wasn't clear enough on that and other matters and this will be improved in the following tours for sure.
Finally, let me remind you that we only do private and customised tours, therefore it's a personalized experience and by no means you're forced to engage in activities that you don't want to do or to buy things that don't meet your price expectations. Being that said, both the ranch and the photograpy company are different businesses which set up their own prices.
In all, thank you very much for your comments, because it's a leaning experience that will make me and my peers grow and improve our services. Best regards!

We did this trip on 1/10/2023, and our guide was Martin, and he was excellent. He did a great job of keeping an eye on our group and making sure we were staying together and then also giving us information about the area. There were four of us, and we each choose the option to drive our own ATV's since we are experienced riders. The cool thing about this trip is that you had the opportunity to ride in both the mountains and the city streets so you were able to see a lot of areas.
We did the 9:00AM start time which was nice. The trip takes you to a local restaurant tucked away in the mountains with the opportunity to do a tequila tasting and you can also eat or just have a drink. Food and beverage here is not included. We stopped there early on in the ride so we weren't too hungry after breakfast.
The ATV ride took us to see some beautiful mountain views and the trip has a photographer that rides with you and gets some great shots. You can buy a single photo or a package of all the pictures which is what we did. They were great pictures. The ride also took us along the city streets, where you could see local living.
I would recommend this trip.

I selected this copy based on price and they only do private tours. I find them on the street and spoke with Juan. His professional service and fair price causes me to book a trip for a party of 4 with all single riders. Our tour guide Cecilia was great and so was her female colleague (can’t recall her name). They made the adventure fun but most importantly safe! We had 2 riders that were doing this for the first time and they both loved it and said they always felt safe and want to do it again. Will definitely go back to this company and take the longer tour.

AMAZING tour!!! I loved that each group has a private guide so you feel very supported and can go at your own pace. We were given options for the tour, and followed the normal plan where we stopped at a ranch for tequila tasting and a snack. Agostina was our guide, she was so sweet and patient with me (my second time on an ATV, but my husband grew up riding dirt bikes and ATVs). We saw 2 groups of riders from another tour company, and were so happy we booked this private tour. The cost was similar, but they had 10-15 riders per group. I was way more comfortable in this private setting as I could always see Agostina's hand signals and I knew what was going on. The views of PVR and the river were fantastic! We will definitely book a longer tour for our next trip to Puerto Vallarta to visit El Eden. The photos were fun (and not insanely overpriced) - our son loved seeing them when we got back. Thanks for wonderful day!

We booked a private ATV tour with Xiutla Riders on May 11, 2023. Edson was our guide and it was the best full three hour ATV experience! The ride started from their shop and while there was some traffic to negotiate on the way out of town, Edson kept safety top of mind and we never had any problems. It was interesting riding along the cobblestone streets before traversing the countryside, passing livestock and taking in mountain scenery. We also stopped to rest at a restaurant that had a full bar and tequila tasting before continuing up the twisting and dusty dirt roads. After leaving the country side, we also stopped at a lighthouse with an entire view of the bay. We would definitely recommend Xiutla Riders as a great tour operator for an ATV ride! Ask for Edson!!!

That's a good question - I'm not sure since my group was all older. The shop is closeby in town, maybe once you land you can swing in and ask before making your reservation? They speak good English and are very friendly, I feel like as long as you don't have a small child it would be okay.
