My partner and I were staying at the RIU Palace in Puerto Vallarta, he decided to get the transportation so that we wouldn't have to wait in line for a taxi. We have used other companies before and they'll have a car/van pick you up privately or in a group and you go on your merry way. This time it was completely different. We got out the airport and we see the guy in the shirt, he tells us to stay in the shade and wait. We are there waiting over 30 minutes. We start looking around for this man in the Grayline t-shirt just to see him standing in the back of a line for a taxi. So what was the point in paying a service for them to not only Not have a car ready but also for them to be just grabbing you a regular taxi that I could've waited in line for and had gotten myself. A total scam but for next time we know. AND BTW, the taxi's out there can't scam you. They have a price sheet they have to follow, so don't be scared to just grab your own.Written 5 February 2025

They work at Dreams in Puerto Vallarta, but could help anyone who needs them. Both Arture & Alex took the time to go over different options with us, gave us better prices than we found elsewhere & helped to make sure everything was taken care of. We did 3 trips with them. A city tour, a whale watch & a private sailboat. All 3 trips were GREAT & the guys asked us about our day every time we came back. I had a problem with a cab coming back from a pier, called them by phone & they cleared up that mess much easier than I ever could have. We did it early on in our trip to get oriented to the city and I’d say it did a good job of that. Our guide, Jaime (“Jimmy”) was hilarious and super kind and knowledgeable about the city. Our driver, Carlos (“Charlie”), kept us safe and got us where we needed to go in a timely fashion. We got to walk along the malecon, visit the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, went to a tequila tasting (learned a lot and the tequila was genuinely so good!!), visited a jewelry shop that specializes in Mexican fire opal and a leather shop with tons of leather goods. The last stop on the tour is lunch at a small restaurant in the mountains. Do make sure to bring plenty of cash because you’ll need it to tip your driver and your guide, as well as the restaurant staff and the musicians at the end of the tour. Most places along the tour either offer discounts if you pay cash or have a minimum purchase amount if paying with a card. For example we wanted to purchase about $300 MX worth of souvenirs but because of the minimum purchase requirement at the shop we had to spend $600 MX - not a huge deal but more than we were prepared for. The tequila place offered a 5% discount if you paid in cash. The lunch at the end is not included in the tour price. While the portions are fairly generous, each platter was around $60-65 USD. The meals are sold as large platters and there isn’t really an option to order something smaller, at least not that we saw. We purchased one platter and it was plenty for two adults. Drinks are sold separately, and tips are not included in the meal price. We have an all inclusive resort so in hindsight if we were to do it again we probably would have just purchased drinks at the restaurant and then gotten lunch back at our resort, but that’s just us. Our favorite part of the lunch was that it was in the rain forest right next to a stream. We got to watch the wildlife as we are which was so relaxing.Written 20 January 2025

They were waiting for us at the airport, and we met with Ramon the first morning of our stay. Ramon recommended some excellent tours (Bahía Alegre and Las Caletas). There were strong tides on the first tour preventing us from completing our activities, but Ramon was extremely helpful and we were able to go again and enjoyed the tour a lot. - 169betsyf0 contributionsAvoid this oneI purchased a shore excursion for myself and my party (4 including myself) for a City Tour with lunch in Puerto Vallarta for November 28, 2024. I want to tell you how unhappy we all were with this tour. It started more than 30 minutes late; we were not advised beforehand to expect considerable walking, and our guide told us very little about the city. Except for a brief view of the town boardwalk and a visit to the cathedral where mass was being held so we couldn't visit inside, our guide was very concerned that we stop at several shopping venues where we were left without access to the bus we'd traveled on. All of us felt that the guide was getting kickbacks from the shops for bringing us. Twice we ended up standing on the dirty streets in the heat waiting for up to 30 minutes for the bus to reappear. For lunch, we were taken to a town about 35 minutes away from our ship, arriving just after 3:30 p.m. by which time we were all very thirsty and hungry (no water or snacks available on the bus). After repeatedly telling the guide that our ship's last call to board was at 4:30 pm, we had very little time (10-15 minutes) to eat lunch and race back to the ship, barely getting there before the deadline. - dtchs0 contributionsPoorly run misnamed shopping trip. Avoid!First, we had to do a lot of walking—mostly on cobblestones. No way to identify us or guide except he wore an orange shirt. Tour left 11am after 2/10 mile walk to bus parked on side street. Except for the church, this was a shopping trip to specific shops which I suspect are giving kick backs to the guide and/or company. We didn’t get to go to lunch until 3:15pm at a place about 35 min from cruise terminal. Last call at ship was 4:30!! Very stressful. Food was good as was the location, but very hurried so some mistakes were made. We were late returning to cruise terminal but thankfully didn’t miss the ship. This tour was poorly run and the emphasis was clearly more on lining their own pockets than showing us highlights of the city. Very disappointed!!Written 28 November 2024

- MaxK08030 contributionsSomewhat touristy but very fun.We had an 8 and 4 year old and they both enjoyed it as there are almost constant activities. Two meals, pirate show (sword fighting, walking the plank, some pyro), games (dance off, guess the amount of dots, etc.), and lots of beach activities. They also really focused on the kids to make sure they had fun and felt comfortable. You are assigned a personal pirate, who also has many other jobs including being in the show, who almost constantly checks on you which is nice. It also helps the drinks are somewhat watered down as they just keep appearing. Tips to know - the boat does move so bring your sea legs and seasickness medicine if you are prone. The transfer to the beach is in smaller speedboats so be prepared to jump in the water to make it ashore. And lots of audience participation so be prepared to be a bit silly which is part of the fun.Written 25 October 2024

He was very nice and made the process easy and exolained it all well. The tour was cheaper than expedia and we had an amazing time!!! The atv tour at jorullo bridge is a must! It was a great trail full of hills and things to see along the way. You stop at a waterfall, river and then and at the bridge. It was soo worth it!Written 21 October 2024

Dalia is great!!! It started as a meeting with her in the lobby of the Marriott to arrange our return airport transport with Grayline through Costco. Dalia was very thorough and professional, so we decided to inquire about other activities through Grayline. She went to great effort to arrange a day trip to Las Caletas for our family of 5 including scuba on a day/time of our choosing and at a price cheaper than what the hotel concierge offered. She communicated with me through text and followed up to make sure that we were satisfied with our excursion. When we experienced an issue with a photo purchase, she went out of her way to assist. She was wonderful to work with, and we would not hesitate to seek her assistance on a future trip to Puerta Vallarta!

Our transfer to our resort from the airport was great. Friendly employees at the curbside pickup and our driver was great. The return from the resort to the airport was terrible. Representative showed up 15 minutes late with no vehicle. We booked a private van for 6. They ended up splitting us up between two cans because they didn’t have a van available. This reservation was made months in advance and confirmed the day after we arrived in PV. Average cab ride is $6 US. The “VAN” rental cost us $90 US each way. Only reason I give 3 stars is because the representative who arrived at the resort for pick up did the best he could do to make sure we arrived to the airport on time. I feel like I should get a 50% refund for this booking.

Be careful, the Website data entries did not match the actual hotel zone and pricing. Greyline associate corrected the shuttle number. Wait times for shuttles is a 15+ minutes in a chaotic area. Staff is friendly and courteous.

We met Marino (Gray Line) at the Marriott - Puerto Vallarta to arrange for our transportation back to the airport. I can say unequivocally that he is one of the most helpful, kind and straightforward person we've meet. I know that he is there because he has a job to do - and he has done it so wonderfully that we weren't pressured into anything we did not want to sign up for. He explained all our tour options (we signed up for Zipline/Snorkeling) and made a collective decision based on our budget/comfort level/family participation. All of the tour details that Marino explained have been met and fulfilled thus we were satisfied. Lastly, as we were to depart for the airport, we realized we lost our voucher. We contacted him and he issued a new one without incident - and he was able to see us off before we left. 100% recommend. Muchas Gracias Marino and GrayLine!

The service was great when we arrived in Mexico. The problem occurred when we were leaving Mexico. We paid for the service and was put in a taxi rather than a shuttle. The company Grayline paid the taxi driver considerably less than what we paid for the service. We did not receive a refund for putting us in a taxi. We were not dropped off in the correct area and had to sit and wait in a taxi line to get dropped off.

We booked round trip shuttle to and from airport and ended up paying 4x what we would have paid if we just caught a cab. Funny thing is, our ride back to the airport was a cab, so I guess we were paying Gray Line to curate the ride? They were very friendly and reliable and I bet their tours are nice but don’t book them for a simple transport when there are so many labeled cabs out there. That’s a mistake I won’t make again.

I have visited puerto vallarta many times in the past 20 years and have used the roundtrip shuttle service many times just to save time on travel days. This year I did the same and the ride to the resort went fine. When it came time for the return trip back I called grayline the day before and set up the meeting time for pick-up which was 12:30pm. I went to check out at 12:15 and when checked out was told my transfer had left 15 minutes earlier so I called them and was told I would need to supply my own way to the airport . I had to hire a taxi to get to the airport. The airport transfer to zone 4 costs $88.00 for the round trip transfer. A taxi ride from the airport to zone 4 is $24.00 dollars and the return trip from zone 4 to the airport is $20.00. Taxi's are readily available and half price of the shuttle. Never will use grayline again.

Follow their instructions when leaving the airport or you will be subject to a time share gimmick. Don't stop to talk to anyone inside the airport and just get outside.
The ride to the hotel was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
My only complaint was making the return flight arrangements. The representative was only at our hotel for 15 minutes and since I missed him, I emailed with no reply. I then messaged through trip advisor and was directed to call. Once I spoke to someone on the phone, all of the arrangements were made and I'm glad that I did as they had the wrong date for our return.
The return ride was excellent. The vehicle was air conditioned, and the driver was friendly and helpful. We had no difficulties on our way to the airport.
The ride to the hotel was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Eteban, was such a pleasure to work with. He ensured not only our transportation from to airport to the hotel was taken care of as well as getting us back to the airport the day of departure. He also got with us on day 1 to plan and schedule all the excursions and adventures my family and I wanted to do. We were able to get them scheduled with discounts. He was quite helpful. On one of our days we left some items in a taxi and didn't realize it before they left. Esteban went above and beyond to assist and help in identifying the Taxi and communicating with his local contacts to get our items delivered back to our hotel. I didn't think we would get those items back. He was essential in an awesome trip and such a friendly helpful gentleman. We would use him and Gray Lines again anytime.

I’m not sure but please don’t use Grayline Shuttle!!! They are very unprofessional and not dependable at all!! I paid $200 US for a cab when a van was promised!!!
