Las Grutas de García is a group of caves and a tourist attraction. They are located in the municipality of García, Nuevo León, Mexico, about 30 km northwest of Monterrey. The caves are located within the state protected natural area of the Sierra del Fraile
The caves are surrounded by a desert and rocky landscape in which there are numerous caverns. They are an extensive series of galleries between 50 and 60 million years old. They have a total length of 300 meters and a maximum depth of 105 meters. During prehistoric times they were submerged under the sea. For this reason, in its parts you can see remains of marine fossils, such as shells and snails.
