Nature lovers and adventurers appreciate escaping busy Freeport to kayak with sea turtles at a remote location off the coast of Grand Bahama island. Spot sea stars, watch turtles in their natural habitat, and enjoy the pristine surroundings on this guided shore excursion tour that includes transportation to and from the Freeport cruise port.
  • Ideal for nature lovers and families who want to escape bustling Freeport
  • Enjoy the tranquil scene as you travel by boat to a remote island locale
  • Kayak amid turtles and observe them in their natural habitat
  • Round-trip transportation from the Freeport cruise port is included
What to Expect
Get picked up from the Freeport cruise port, where you transfer to a boat and cruise 4 miles to Sweetings Cay. Upon arrival at this remote location off of Grand Bahama’s east end, you can't miss the plentiful sea stars in the clear, shallow water. After your guide gives you a briefing on how to best enjoy the area safely, you are outfitted with a kayak to enjoy time at your leisure to paddle around the aptly named Turtle Park. Watch graceful turtles as they bob their heads above the water; some will come close enough to your kayak to allow you to feed them. No kayaking experience is necessary for this adventure, so it is a perfect shore excursion for novices, children, and experienced kayakers alike.  You return to the mainland by boat and then are transferred back to the cruise port.

First, I was a bit nervous about taking a jeep ride all the way from Freeport to McLean's Town since one of my kids has extreme motion sickness. So I called them up and they told me that we could drive ourselves to McLean's if that was easier - and they agreed to a reduced

This was my first trip to Grand Bahama Island with my boyfriend. We were on a Carnival cruise and they worked so well with getting us from the port. The drive was wonderful and Brice made the hour long drive feel really short with fun facts and guessing games. Brice took us to

This trip was a definite highlight of visiting Grand Bahama Island. I had heard a lot about the different ecosystems, flora, and fauna out on the island's East End, and had heard wonderful things about Sweeting's Cay, so we decided on the kayak excursion to be able to see the
