Embark on a 4 hour adventure to Turtle Cove or Brewers Bay and Honeymoon Beach. At Turtle Cove or Brewers Bay you will have snorkeling gear to explore coral reefs that are home to tropical fish such as snapper, hamlets, parrot fish and you can even swim with the turtles. Captain Maddy and Mate Kahlia were professional and friendly and made every minute of the trip most excellent. We used the Bluetooth sound system to play our favorite music and it was over much too soon! Tip-please come early enough to park and get to the meeting point and sign your waivers online. Annemarie, our skipper, and Coleman, the, well, everything else (including bartender, tour guide, historian and great storyteller) made the trip enjoyable. They also had the perfect touch of knowing just when to let us relax on our own. The water was beautiful, the sunset was frame-worthy. We were cruising and wanted to snorkel but had a 6 and 10 year old and wanted something that was more intimate so we could insure kids would be safe snorkeling for their first time. Captain Anne Marie was AMAZING! Her knowledge of sailing and willingness to go to find sea turtles for the children to swim with made her a family favorite. Her first mate Alicia was equally fantastic attending to our family needs. She gave us tips on where to go to snorkel so we were almost the only ones there. We have an island bay to ourselves and the sea turtles. She even challenged the kids to jump of the back of the boat (3 feet ) which was their highlight of the trip. Overall one of the best decisions I made chartering this boat and having this crew. Thank you for making this great memory!!!Written 23 October 2024

Boat showed up 45 mins late, sat at the dock for around 30 minutes till departed with one crew member, only snorkeled 15 mins at Buck Island and then went to Honeymoon Beach, snorkeled roughly 30 mins and returned to dock 30 mins early. Gate at the dock was closed made everyone shimmy five feet hanging onto fence to swing around to where no fence was.
Have called and left three voice messages over four days no returned calls.
Save money and time, go to expedition outfitters on St John rent snorkel gear for 7 dollars and snorkel Maho Bay with turtles and sting rays.

We must fall on the Pirate sword on this one. This was not the experience that our 500+ FIVE STAR reviews shows is usual with our charters. On this particular charter, our Captain had an illness and we had 30 minutes to replace them. One of our GREAT Captains volunteered to do the charter, however, they had not done this particular tour before - they usually do only private charters. Therefore, they were late picking the guests up. And, they did drop the guests off at the wrong dock; about 50 feet from the dock that was open. We regret this. What did we Learn? Tour operators like us never want to cancel a charter. But, sometimes there are mechanical or challenges like illness that happens - we all know things happen that are unavoidable. When these happen, we try our best to make sure a charter is not cancelled. However, what we have learned is that it is probably better to cancel and reschedule than to operate a charter that might not be the FIVE STAR experience our guest are use too. Again, we are sorry. We have talked to this guest and made amends. They also admitted, which we appreciate, that they never left any voice messages and the first time they communicated with us was after posting the review. We appreciate their honesty since we are fanatical about returning all calls. Again, our regrets on this experience.

Our cruise ship itinerary was changed last minute so we ended up booking this excursion late. It ended up being one of our best during the trip. We did the afternoon trip. The boat was nice and the captain knowledgeable and friendly. The snorkeling was very good - in addition to fish we saw turtle and sting ray. The snorkeling location was not overcrowded - we were lucky and were the only people in the water. The end of the trip to the beach was beautiful and relaxing and we got a wonderful sunset on the ride back. The boat was not over crowed - there were only 3 groups for 10 people. We would do it again!

We were glad that we were able to accommodate you for your last-minute Excursion. We always tell guests to feel free to contact us even at the very last minute because we may have a late cancellation. We take pride in doing small group excursions that are much more intimate and we are glad you noticed. Safe sailing on the way home and come back and visit us soon

It was a great experience. We went to two beautiful spots, saw a turtle, a coral, a ray and a lot of fish. The water colors were beautiful even though it had been raining. The group size is perfect and the guides were nice, fun and knowledgeable. I would improve the following things: we waited at the beginning more than 20 minutes. This felt like wasted time. We were waiting for some people that had booked the wrong day. I think they should have a maximum wait time and if you’re late, you miss it. Because of this, we did not go to Honeymoon beach which we were the most excited for. Also, the guide should have told people that the area to see most fish is around the corals. We were the only ones who swim towards the corals and saw a lot more fish than the others who stayed around the boat. The corals were not far from the boat. If I was the guide I would also tell people respect the turtles. People were surrounding and smothering the poor turtle and I don’t think that’s good for wild life. You should watch animals from a distance. They were getting too close to the animal.
The overall experience was great and we will repeat it and recommend it to anybody coming to St Thomas.

Thank you for your feedback. This was a very thoughtful review and it is appreciated. We agree, waiting for late guests is not fair to guests that were on-time. Based on your feedback and others, we are now going to instruct all Captains to depart on time. This will probably result in negative reviews from individuals whom miss the trip, but it is the right thing to do. We also agree on your comments about marine wildlife. We must all respect the marine wildlife. This is great advice to our guests and I believe we can all do a better job of educating guests - we will be passing that feedback along to our Captains and Crew as well. This was the highlight of our trip. We did the 1/2 day “swim with the turtles” and it was fantastic. True to their word, the crew knew exactly where the turtles were and we saw 3 of them! Seeing a giant sea turtle swimming right towards you is a little unnerving, but awesome! They took us to Brewers Bay which is very secluded, and Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, and we snorkeled about an hour at each place, plus there is a really cool beach bar on Water Island called Dinghy’s that is a can’t miss destination. The boat was very nice, clean, and fast compared to similar excursions. Loved it! Side note - we did the afternoon cruise at 2:00pm which I highly recommend, especially if you think you might have a few too many rum punch drinks the night before!

St. Thomas was one of the stops on our cruise, and we booked the snorkel tour as an half day excursion. I have been on a few other snorkeling tours before, in the Caribbean as well as in Hawaii, and as someone who is extremely uncomfortable in ocean water due to having very beginner-level swimming skills, I have to say that I really appreciated the small group size of this tour. Our snorkel guide (sorry I didn’t remember her name!!) was very attentive, assisted with putting the life vest on me although I was the only one who requested it), observed closely as I got in the water to make sure I was comfortable being in it, and checked on everyone often. We had two stops on this tour, and the Honeymoon Beach stop was definitely the favorite amongst quite a few on the tour; I honestly would have been completely fine with that being the only stop! The water on this stop was gorgeous, calm, and only about 10-feet deep, and the area seems to be where turtles come to get “cleaned”; we saw a few turtles here, including one who had a fish that was actively eating the algae on its shell! On top of all the amazing view and the snorkel experience itself, while other companies often try to sell you photo packages, our guide was more than happy to take everyone’s cam/phone and snap away! Highly recommend this tour to anyone, not only you will have an intimate snorkel experience, you will also walk away with some amazing shots as well!!

Captain Pogan and Vall-e were an amazing team! I had two first timers in my group and they were thoroughly impressed by the trip. We saw several turtles, a sting Ray, sea urchins, fish, and even a big hermit crab! My kiddo was thoroughly entertained when Vall-e played “We Are The Chanpions” after I swam from Honeymoon Beach to the boat while holding a to go box above my head lol
I was able to fulfill my dream of swimming with sea turtles, so I was completely overjoyed. Thank you again for a wonderful time! We talked about our experience all the way back to our resort. I will definitely do this again next time I’m in St. Thomas!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Buck Island and Honeymoon Beach with Hope. She was very attentive to our requests, provided everything we needed, and was quite entertaining. Highly recommend! Additionally, we really enjoyed being part of a small group instead of a boat with 40 or 50 people on it.

Great crew with Capt Dave and fun 45 min trip out to Turtle Cove on Buck Island for some snorkeling. Not much to see in the water in terms of coral, but lots of fish and the sunken barge wreck was sort of interesting to see.
After about an hour at Buck Island, it’s another 45 minutes or so to Water Island. We had no wind so we weren’t able to sail, which was fine. The crew and open bar and just being out on the water made it enjoyable.
Once we got to honeymoon beach at Water Island is where the fun stopped. The beach is waaay overcrowded and Dinghy’s, the one and only bar and restaurant was completely overwhelmed.
Despite the fact that our food order was called in by the crew from Turtle Cove, more than an hour before, once we got off the boat we had to stand in line mote than 45 minutes to pay for the lunch order and drinks. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for the food to arrive under absolutely chaotic conditions — we were told upon arrival that our name would be called out with the food offer. That never happened. The 30 people from our boat, plus dozens of others from other boats, were all hovering about the bar each time the waitstaff came up with a next batch of food to try to figure out whose food it was.
All the while loud music was constantly blaring, the stench of pot smoke from the overcrowded beach party goers was unmatched, and the whole place was seedy, trashy and a complete and utter waste of time and money. I spoke with several other guests from the boat who all complained. Worst experience ever. It’s such a shame this company ruined the day by stopping here for lunch.
Pick any other trip that offers somewhere else to have lunch!

We had one day to spend in St Martin on our cruise and prefer to book tours directly rather than go on the cruise excursions with the masses. This tour was fabulous - Captain Larry Keller took us on a most memorable trip to Buck Island and Honeymoon Beach. There were 2 other couples on the boat - plenty of space and the boat was pristine. We arrived at Buck Island before all the other boats and had a chance to see the turtles and other sea life in clear waters - best visibility of our entire trip. The fish tacos at Honeymoon beach were THE BEST! We loved Captain Larry and can’t wait to do it again next year!

We had a great day this past Saturday with Captain Bryan and Hope aboard the Poseidon. They were both friendly, knowledgeable, and put safety first at all times. The boat was very nice and had plenty of seating and storage space for the 9 passengers on our tour. Both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks were offered regularly. I would rate our snorkeling spot at Buck Island as good, not great, but we had a lot of fun in the water. We appreciated that Hope was in the water with us to point things out and let us know what we were seeing. We enjoyed our stop at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. We've been interested in getting over there, and this was a convenient way to do so. We were there long enough to have lunch at Dinghy's and swim for a bit. The food at Dinghy's was solid and the drinks were delicious. All in all, we had a fantastic experience with Seas the Day and would not hesitate to book with them again or recommend them to others.

How much is a taxi from Grande port dock to the "Rivers Rum Shak" bar near the Yacht Haven Grande Welcome Archway. Where you are located, and it is easy to get a taxi there.

From the cruise port you are coming from, we had three couples say, “YOU better ask the taxi or drivers before hopping a ride”. It’s not that far but one couple paid $85 dollars! Another couple said a much lower price—like $18 or $20. So, taxi buyers beware. Negotiate price in advance or as we like to say: Know before you go.

a boat trip from Puerto Rico to Sct Thomas usually takes 3,5hrs. How will we have time for snorkeling and a bite to eat within the scheduled 4hr?

The water was definitely choppy and swiftly moving. I would not recommend doing this excursion with an infant. Not even sure there is safety equipment or a life vest for an infant? It is definitely open water with LIVE marine life. Fun if you can swim and are responsible for your own person.
