Overall, I really enjoyed this experience. The tour guide use the hour long ride from San Juan to give us information about the island which was really interesting. We stopped about halfway there to use the bathroom at a roadside stand where you can also get some food.
When we arrived, we took a 20 minute very easy hike to the river. Once at the river we did some cliff jumping and rock jumping into the water. We could jump from 10, 20 and even a 30 foot jump. There was also a rope swing to jump into the water. There’s also a natural waterslide that you can use, but on the day we went the water was too rough for us to use it.
The guides were really great in helping us navigate the rocks to get to places to jump from. They also took pictures and videos of us jumping so that we didn’t have to risk the chance of getting our phones and cameras wet.
The only disappointment I had about this trip was that we didn’t get to see more of the rain forest. The short hike to and from the river didn’t give us much of an opportunity to see different flora and fauna. I was really expecting more time in the rainforest and less time swimming when I booked this trip.
Make sure you wear lots of sunscreen and bug spray when you go on this trip. All you really need to bring is a towel and maybe a snack for the ride there, and just leave the towel in the van while you’re hiking and swimming. Make sure that you wear good water shoes or strappy sandals that stay on really well. Don’t wear sneakers and socks if you don’t want them to get covered and soaked in mud. Also, on the way home we stopped at a large roadside area that had a ton of different restaurants so that we could grab lunch if we wanted to, so make sure you bring money if you’re interested in this.
All in all this was a pretty great trip. I’d say it’s definitely worth the money, but expect most of the trip to be swimming and jumping into the water and less of it in the rainforest.

My friend and I wanted to visit El Yunque but didn’t want to be in big crowds. We picked this tour because of how long you get for the price and we were really happy we did. The week before the tour we were worried about the weather because it said 50% chance of rain all morning, but we still got our confirmation with the pick up time and place the day before. They picked us up in a shuttle around 7am and we had a group of ~25 people. The drive there was about an hour and Jaime told us exactly what we were going to do and answered any questions we had. He explained that heavy rain can cause the river to flood which can be dangerous, so the tour left earlier than normal and will be a little shorter in order to avoid the floods. We packed towels, a change of clothes, ponchos, and our phones but ended up leaving everything on the bus (secure on a locked private property). We wore hiking sandals (Chacos) which ended up being a good decision because your feet are fully submerged in water for most of the trip. Everyone who wore sneakers had them completely dirty and soaked by the end because there isn’t really anywhere to take your shoes off. I brought my phone in a ziplock bag so I could take pictures and the life jackets had a velcro sealed pocket to keep it in while we hiked. The views on the hike were awesome and Jose and Jaime helped us over the rocks (there was a fair amount of uphill hiking/climbing but nothing undoable). At the top we got to slide down a natural water slide and jump off a 45 foot ledge (if you wanted to). At the end we got to hang out in a natural pool and do more jumps/rope swings. Despite the forecast saying it was supposed to pour all morning, we actually got a good mix of sun and rain (which didn’t matter because 1) it’s a rainforest and 2) we were already soaked from swimming). We were probably in the forest a total of 2.5 hours. Afterwards, we stopped at a side of the road restaurant that served amazing smoothies and large portions of puerto rican food (my friend and I shared and spent ~$12 total). Overall, José and Jaime were great guides and we were really glad we chose this tour!!

Our group had an amazing time on this tour. We were a group of Girl Scouts (ages13-15) and leaders. Adrianna (sp?), George and Mitchel made our time absolutely unforgettable and fabulous.

Being a Saturday tour, it was pretty darn strenuous. But even our least athletic adult was able to complete it and enjoy it. It was very muddy and slippery (Keens-style sandals worked best). It was a highlight of the trip and even scouts who were skeptical beforehand raved afterward.

Christina with the office staff communicated well with us throughout our booking process to help us satisfy the extra hoops we needed to meet for our organization’s special rules, so a special thank you to her as well.

This company required helmets and life jackets and included a lifeguard as one of the tour guides, so we felt pretty safe at all times (even when slipping into a mud puddle) — not all groups had helmets or even life jackets. We also learned a lot about the native plant life and the Puerto Rican rain forest.

The restaurant stop afterward took a long time, but when the food finally came, it was delicious.

Thank you so much for everything!

We were told the pick up time was 7:30. We were a little bit late and arrive the hotel lobby at 7:39. And saw the driver just left the hotel without notifying us. We call the driver and he said he was told the pickup time was 7:20 and he has been waiting for 20 min. We apologized for being a little bit late but the driver was so mad and refused to come back and pick us up even though he was literally just left and not far away!

This was a terrible experience. We called the management office but only to be told that the pickup time was 7:30 and they only wait for 5 min for every trip, and because we were not there at 7:35 they just left us and refuse to give any help by rescheduling or partially refund the trip! This 5-min policy is just the excuse the office made for their miscommunication with the driver about the pickup time! If the policy was real, the driver should have left at 7:25! Because he thought the pickup time was 7:20.

Long story short, this business does not values there customers, they could’ve helped us in so many ways for this situation but they just throw their attitude towards customers and refuse to provide any help or alternative ways and charged for full price!

Dear Jiaheng, We deeply apologize for the inconvenience you went through. Because we truly value our customers, we have taken the time to provide descriptions as accurate as possible on all aspects of the experience. The 5 minute policy was implemented during the past month and is currently found under the "Additional Information" tab and on the customer Voucher. On your particular case, after pick up at 7:30am was confirmed there was a change on schedule to 7:20am. We are aware this change was not notified to you, this is why the bus arrived to your hotel at 7:20am, but being aware you did knew, he was instructed to wait for you until 7:30am. When you didnt showed up by 7:39am he departed since that was a bit more than the 5 minute policy (after 7:30am). There were other persons on the bus and the schedule could not be pushed back any more, this is way he wasnt able to return after you called. If other options had been available, we would have certainly offered them, but at that point in the morning it was too late.

El Yunque Rainforest is a beautiful area and I would recommend getting there to check it out on your trip to Puerto Rico. The waterslide, the rope swing, and the cliff jumps are so much fun. What disappointed me about this trip was that our tour guides said NOTHING about the rainforest at all. As other tours passed us, the guides were talking about the plants. animals, and the forest as a whole. Our guides said very little. Don't get me wrong, they were pleasant and all, but I would have liked them to tell us a little about where we were. How large is the rainforest? What is a rainforest? What river were we standing in? Where does it start? Where does it let out?

Instead our tour consisted of walking down a slippery, clay slope to a river, playing for awhile, and then walking out.

It was a fun activity, but I expected a more in-depth experience.

Jonathan was a great tour guide who created such a great environment, we had so much fun! He shared many great things about PR and even took us to a kiosko to purchase smoothies and food. The hike was a bit of a challenge but with his patience and guidance our whole group got through it! Definitely recommend doing if you ever visit PR. Also recommend hiking shoes with grip, we wore Nike Wildhorses and it made the hike very easy because there is rock climbing and tons of mud.
Thank you so much again Jonathan, BeSpoke needs more tour guides like you!

Julian and Elias were so professional and amazing during this tour. I noticed that Bespoke is definitely a cut above the other tour operators that were there. Our guides had professional uniforms and gear and we noticed the others did not. They were very hands on with safety of the group and the other tour operators were very lax. We had helmets and life jackets for safety and on one else did. Our vehicle was in great condition and again a cut above the others. I noticed some very concerning behavior regarding the passenger safety with the other groups and was very relieved several times during the tour that we were with Bespoke and not the other groups. The trip was exhiliarating and worth every penny of the cost. PLEASE TIP YOUR GUIDE 20%. I noticed someone left a $5 and felt like that was a total insult. Keep in mind this is how these folks make their living. We will only book with Bespoke from now on if they are operating in the region we visit.

Although the tour starts in San Juan, we were staying in Luquillo and they conveniently picked us up. Great guide & driver, who took us to trailhead that led to a river pool, cliff diving, rope swing and natural waterslides. The guide had great info about the botany and history of the area,
The guides were attentive and looked out for our safety, helping us through the various trickier parts. Note: this hike begins with about a mile of slightly uphill walking and is considerably muddy. The guides warn you to "embrace the mud," which you should definitely do. Don't bring anything with you that you absolutely don't need, because there will be times when you wish you don't have it (such as a backpack or large camera...even a phone without a waterproof cover is a bad idea. It will be safe on the bus.). Once you cross the river, the climb up to the start of the waterslide can be a little...well, a climb up wet boulders. You will need good water shoes for this. However, the guides look out for you and point out good paths and the best footing. Just be sure to listen to their advice.
I would highly recommend this trip for people who are generally active. If you have any significant mobility issues, I would check with the staff, who are very responsive when you call.
Afterwards, we were dropped off at Luquillo beach. There are lots of excellent food options there and a good place to hang out if you're going on their combination Rainforest/Bio Bay trip.

We were a group of 8 and very dissatisfied with our tour. Our tour guide, Jamie, said he wouldn’t pressure us to do anything we were uncomfortable with and he made us feel pressured to jump off a cliff into water. Do not go on this tour if you’re uncomfortable with slides and jumps that go off into the water below because it’s part of the hike although not listed in the tour description. Additionally it was not an enjoyable hike through nature - it felt like a cattle farm with them herding us to the cliffs and back home. We didn’t have time to appreciate the rainforest itself because we were rushed to the waterfall cliffs and back. You are told to leave everything on the bus and one of the people in my group was scolded for bringing glasses that they needed to see. How is he expected to do a hike without glasses? Overall I would not recommend this tour to anyone who wants to relax in nature and enjoy the rainforest. This was too rushed and we felt pressured and as though we were inconveniencing the guides even though we shouldn’t have felt that way

Dear Tara, We are saddened to learn the tour did not met your expectations. When you booked the tour (or the person who did) the description and pictures were very clear it involves a lot of water activities. We actually have a full list of requirements and limitations listed under "Additional Information", since this is not just a walk on a trail, but a completely off the beaten path adventure (just like the name says). The guides always explain everything prior to starting the tour. Along the instructions they advise the jumping part is optional, but you cannot change your mind once you are up there. When the guide "pressured you" to jump was because you had already climbed the rocks, and at that point there is no safe return but to jump. It is unfair to receive 1 star rating for an information you didn't seem to know even thou we have made it available for everyone to read prior to booking, or because you did not followed instructions. As a professional company we are, we always have a tour guide plus staff to assist during the tour in order to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. We are sorry you did not felt this way.

It exceeded my expectations. The national park is still breathtaking, despite the damage by hurricane Maria. The operators came, right on time for pick up and on our way there, explained what to expect. We stayed in Fajardo, so we were the last ones to be picked up (something to consider if you are staying in San Juan). The tour starts with a moderate hike thought the jungle. Be advices, it is very muddy so sturdy hiking books is strongly advised (...and for the love of God, do not come wine flip flops or Tevas!!). There are several stops to amazing waterfalls where we jumped and even slides down a couple of them. The water can be cold, but after 1 hr hike, it will feel amazing. Our guide Fernando was extremely attentive and kept repeating safety information (we really felt taken care of). Things I would recommend for others taking this tour: have breakfast (you will need the energy) and the snack offered is very light. Bring some cash, there is a bar at the end of the tour...it was nice to have a couple of drinks at the end of the tour. Bring some eco friendly bug spray for your ankles and finally, wear long pants (like cargo pants). Excellent service and a great value for your money
