My friend and I recently visited curacao and could not have been happier with the service, professionalism, and enjoyment we got from our tour! We visited the caves and a beautiful beach which honestly was the highlight of our time there. I really loved this service and I will use it next time I visit for sure. Thank you Aida and staff for making this such a great time.

Took this tour recently while on a cruise to Curaçao. This was a mixed bag of an excursion. Looking at flamingo’s at over 300 yards away is pretty poor, short time in caves, nice beach.
However the one bright shining star was the tour guide. She was one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining guides I’ve ever had.
Bottom line. I would recommend trying something else because the tour just isn’t anything special. Hopefully they will adjust some of their stops.

We went on this tour after having ridden 21 miles on an eBike the previous day at Bonair. We were all tired and hot from being in the sun. I was with my wife and our 2 cruising buddies Dave and Kim. We're all late 50's early 60's and mostly in decent shape.

First off, the bus itself was great. It was a large coach bus with cushy seats and air conditioning. Our guide was a local and spoke English well enough for everyone to understand.

We drove around the island, driving by a pond with flamingos. No, as noted below, you can't get out there, but we parked and got some decent photos from the bus. The island tour kept our interest. The next stop was the caves.

As noted below, this tour is via a docent of the park. There were 59 steps up to the cave, fairly steep but with a railing. No one had any issues. The caves themselves all have railings and you go down and up. They are very beautiful and worth seeing. They are not that big and it doesn't take that long to do it all (maybe a half hour or so). But it's definitely worth doing.

From there we went to the beach and again as noted below it's not a high end beach. There's plenty of facilities for changing and lounging and the ocean is nice, though we didn't go in. Instead we went upstairs for lunch and had gyros and kebabs, with $3.00 beers and margaritas. There's around 7 different restaurants up there, from sandwich shops to steaks, fish, vegetarian and Mexican. Our food was fantastic and there was a lot of it. The view was great, see below.

After lunch we finished the island tour. They dropped us off by the town near the cruise ship dock and we walked around, got gelato (Baileys gelato was amazing), went to the Blue Experience, where we got a tour of how the make Curacao liquor (and tasted a few!), then walked back to the ship, about a 10 minute walk.

It was a low key day, that we all needed after our bike ride the previous day. The A/C was perfect and the food great. If you just want to take a break and see the island with no stress, this is the way to go.

I was so looking forward to this experience and it was a total let down.
7 days prior to our cruise I get a notice that I needed to reach out to Aida and figure out the meeting time and place, why would this info not be included in the trip confirmation and edocs? I found an email and after 24 hours they finally replied saying a rep of Aida would be in port in a Brown shirt AND hat and will only wait 45 minutes after ships arrival. Well Rosie was NOT in a hat and did not arrive to the port until 45 minutes after docking. There was a huge crowd of people who like us, rushed off at 8am to not miss her and then just stood around waiting.

The flamingos were ok, but there was not a HUGE flock like in pictures, they are in the distance, and originally we were told we couldnt get off the bus for pictures but then allowed 2 minutes.

The Hato Caves were a joke. 50 rock steps up, in single file, to the entrance of the cave. There were 4 groups in the small confining walk ways at all times. It was single file the whole time as only one way in and out so groups were stepping on each other. There were not real obvious carvings but were told to use your imagination. It was hot, crowded, and about 50 more steps down then back up again inside the cave.

The beach was okay. Restaurants, shops, even a Subway for just a light lunch. Water and sand were beautiful. Had about 1 1/2 hours to relax.

Unfortunately our guide was nice, but not bubbly or enthusiastic for sharing and welcoming us to her country. She was just going thru the motions. We feel we missed out on a lot of details, history, and vitality of this country, and not sure we would want to revisit.

We were an afternoon departure, so I can only comment on that tour not the early tour.

To begin, the tour uses some key words, small groups. close encounters with wildlife, flamingo's, cave carvings, and gorgeous beach.

The truth... they wait for everyone, even if the stragglers are 30+ minutes late. While this could be okay, they fail to say that it impacts your beach time, more specifically the remaining daylight and shopping being open.

We were in a group of 30 (not small in my book), in a small 30 seat bus, more like sardines.

Penny did her best to make it enjoyable, with color and flair for Curacao. We started with a short tour of industrial Curacao, and worked our way to the salt lake where the flamingo's are. They are at the lake, about 100 yards out (bring a telephoto lens). You are not able to leave the bus and get a closer look because they are protected. For us, the highlight was the three wild pigs on the road (wildlife?), we were able to get closeups of them.
Then the tour continues to the far side of the island where we go to the Hato Caves.

The Hato caves tour cost $9.00, probably less with their tour discount. You walk up to a large cage, that may have a tortoise and some lizards (if they are out) then climb 49 steps (some steep) to a locked gate at the entrance of the cave. (BTW the cave is above ground, so you climb up to the entrance to go down to the caverns).
You enter and they lock the door behind you. Now the guide was nice but informed us the cave is "commercial" so NO PICTURES other than the designated area. The tours last about 20-25 minutes, you get to see several caverns and bats. No carvings were shown on this tours and at the end they opened the gate and let you out. At the base of the cave there is a little shop that sells drinks and bathrooms. Spend a few minutes and head back to the bus where a bottle of water awaits you.

Back on the bus and a little driving tour where Penny comments on the traffic and tells us were are heading to the beach, and we were "lucky" it was after 5pm so we would not be charged for beach beds. They drop you off and tell you they will be back in 2 hours and at that time you may have the option to stop in the city (shoppy area or back to the dock).

Here is the rub, the beach is basically a public beach with places that "rent" bed, chairs, pillows. The shower is coin operated, the store close between 5 and 6 pm. The beach basically closes up at 5, so the beach beds may be avail if the regular guest left, otherwise the staff is packing up the pillows. The bouncy pad for the kids close at 5 and they chase everyone off. For us the sun set at 6pm, so it was dark and the temp cooled down. Note, just about everything is closed at the beach other than restaurants. Thus. not much to do for the extra hour. So.. i said the heck with it and got a taxi back to the shoppy area ($10). Sadly, many of the stores were either closed or closing up. We were lucky to get to a few shops before they closed. About 7:15 we see the bus making its way through the now closed shoppy area. We took the free ferry to the other side and made our way back to the dock. If we would have rode the bus back, we would have missed getting any souvenirs.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this tour. It is priced $65.00, it is worth maybe $15.00 (the cave tour, water and gas for the transportation). You will not get your money's worth.

Not my favorite excursion. For this location you. An do much better. The beach was only so so. The cave was more effort than it was worth. This is a beautiful city. Recommend a walking tour of the town or something like that.

I was booked for a different tour originally, when Aida the driver and Peny the tour guide arrived at my hotel to pick me up, they told me I was the only person who booked that tour so they arranged for me to go on this tour (which offered more destinations) without the extra cost! Aida and Peny were very punctual, friendly and easy-going. I had a great time sightseeing Curacao and conversing with them!

The start of the tour was disappointing. We went to see the flamingos, but they were so far away it was hard to take any photo unless you had a professional telephoto lens (see fully zoomed in photos below taken with my iPhone X). The Hato Caves part was good. The guide we had there was young, but knowledgeable enough about the history. The last part was the beach. All this part consisted of was being dropped off at Mambo beach for a couple hours. Mambo beach seemed like more of a place for people to shop and less about the beach.

We were on a cruise ship and chose this excursion for our day in port. Overall it was a good tour but not great. That being said the customer service from Penny, Aida and our driver Likea were amazing!! The disappointment was we didn't realize for the flamingo portion of the tour you just pull off on the side of the road and if the flamingos happen to be on your side of the lake you can see them up close. In our case they were on the opposite side and very difficult to see. I thought it was more interactive with the flamingos. After seeing the flamingos you go onto the Hato caves...this was fantastic!! It was amazing to see the formations and our tour guide had been there 26 years and was extremely informative!! Highly recommend the caves. After we left the caves we went to the beach portion - there were 2 cruise ships in port that day and the beach was incredibly crowded and really couldn't handle the 2 ships being in port. I would check and see if there are cruise ships in that day and base your excursions on that as it just gets extremely overcrowded. Likea our driver was extremely informative of the entire island and provided great history of Curacao!! Overall I would recommend this tour to a friend.
