What to expect
  • Depart from your Barbados hotel in a climate-controlled vehicle and travel to the Bridgetown marina, where your own personal catamaran awaits you. Meet your skipper and step aboard El Tigre, the 60-foot-long (18-meter), 24-foot-wide (7-meter) vessel that you and up to 50 friends and family members will cruise around Barbados’ west coast on. Unwind on deck and soak up the sun and sea views as your skipper guides you out onto the open waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sip a coffee or juice and much on a slice of coconut bread as you admire the pretty coastline. Unlimited soda, rum punch and beer are also available. Stop first at a popular snorkeling site, where sea turtles often gather. Pull on a provided snorkel mask and dive off the catamaran into the azure water to swim alongside these majestic creatures. After roughly 45 minutes, continue to the second snorkeling spot, where you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel over a shipwreck teeming with tropical fish. Continue along the west coast and anchor off a beach. Here, enjoy lunch on board, and then jump into the waters and swim to the pristine sands for a stroll along the beach. Back on El Tigre, dry off with a cocktail and listen to some soca, a form of Caribbean calypso music, while you cruise back to Bridgetown. Your tour concludes with a hotel drop-off.

Amazing Cruise !
Nov. 2021
Had a private charter with El Tigre last week to celebrate our wedding and it was absolutely fantastic. The catamaran is a really good size and obviously well maintained, the crew were great - really welcoming, friendly, and efficient ! the food was excellent - really top quality ! and we were lucky enough to swim with a few turtles.
We hired the boat from 15.30 - 19.30 for a sunset cruise with dinner and both us and our guests just had the most amazing time............as another reviewer states, it was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip. Would definitely recommend.

Oct. 2021 • Friends
We hired the boat for the evening from 3pm - 19:30. Taking off from Bridgetown and heading down to Holetown. We requested a change of direction from Carlisle Bay as we had previously been, they happily changed route for us. From the minute we stepped on the boat they were super friendly and welcoming. Made us feel like it was all about us having the best time, celebrating our friends birthday. We had 2 snorkel stops saw lots of fishes, turtles and a wreck. They offered jackets and support for the less confident in the water. The boat was clean and stylish. The drinks were endless, I never had a empty cup. The food was delicious. They had a full bar and everything you could need. Bluetooth for our own music. Hosts Captain Larry, Kaya and Mali were charming and courteous. Highly recommend the tour, suitable for all types, friends celebrating or a family trip.

Great time, great staff!
we had a great time on the boat, we saw some sea turtles and an abundance of fish, a sting ray and a puffer fish. Even though we only booked the day before (on boxing day), they were more than happy to have the chef prepare us a special vegan dish for lunch for the next day. All the staff onboard were wonderful and even the bus driver offering the transfer was lovely and did her best to give us a guided tour of sights on the island on the way to the boat. It wasn’t crowded onboard either like some of the other boats we saw out whilst in the ocean. great day with great people

Highlight of our trip!
We rented a private catamaran for 12 adults on Feb 13th while we were in Barbados on a Celebrity Cruise. Hetti (bus driver) was so kind and gave us tons of city facts in the 10 min drive from the port to the El Tigre boat office. From the jump, the staff was amazing. Drinks were free flowing! Food was delicious. Capitan Ryan, Chris and Malli were so fun. Ryan told us all about the history of the boat and his business. Chris was excellent with making sure we saw as much as possible while snorkeling. Turtles, fish, sting rays, ship wrecks. Malli was full of jokes and laughs. This was easily our best day of the entire trip. Highly recommended and would do it again in a heartbeat. Wished we had more time to extend a few hours.

Review to robert m
Jan. 2020 • Couples
This review is in response to Robert m. both me and my wife were on the tour that day and both of us had talked to said Robert m and his family there and explained to them that there is only so much catering ordered for said tour this was explicitly explained to them even before the first snorkel stop having been on the boat both me and my wife over 28 times we know this and to have him blast Larry and the rest of the crew over what is obviously his mistake in the booking process I think is a grave injustice to what I believe is the best catamaran cruise options on the island I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming or looking to book a tour of this kind.

I would not recommend this trip.
I have travelled all over the Caribbean and the Mediterranean to at least 15 islands and I have never encountered such an unwillingness on the part of boating staff-especially Larry-to be flexible to a mistake In the reservation.
We made a reservation for the Catamaran snorkeling cruise.
When we arrived at the marina,we learned that through some glitch in the reservation, we were only allowed to spend 3 hours on the boat-not the full 5 hour cruise
I immediately said we would pay any difference in the fare but they steadfastly refused to be accommodating
Eventually, Larry dumped us off the boat on a beach very far north of Bridgetown as thought we were immigrants being dumped on the shore line.
We were the only ones on a boat of 38 people who were dumped off
In my view, A terrible business decision
There a lots of options for snorkeling and sailing.
Do NOT waste time and money on this cruise

Thanks for your review. Although I don’t respond often to reviews mainly because we are all so busy trying to keep our operation running as smoothly as possible, I thought it necessary to reply to this one to share all the things you conveniently left out of the review. First off, when you made your booking on Viator/Tripadvisor you selected the 3-Hour option (there was no glitch in the reservation). Probably because the 5-hour option was not available (as I know it was not available at the time you made your booking). I sent you a message with your pickup information as we knew your exact location and things work much smoother when we pick you up. Late that night you replied that you would make your own way to the boat explaining you knew where it was cause you saw it that night while in Bridgetown (although you were mistaken and had the wrong boat). In the morning after a quick correction we got that sorted and you came to our dock, checked in and boarded the catamaran. Later on during the cruise I received a call from Larry the Captain to say that your party of 5 people wanted to change to the 5-hour tour. I responded and said it would not be possible as the catering onboard was only for 31 people and there would not be enough. You replied with “we don’t eat much”. That’s not the point. We have 31 people who didn’t book the 3-hour tour and we catered for them. You booked the 3-hour tour and it doesn’t include lunch so there was no catering for your group. If we had accepted the change to satisfy you. I bet you would have been the first in the buffet line, loading up your plate knowing that there was only catering for 31 people and someone at the end of the line may not get their full meal even though they booked correctly from the start (I and the other 31 people onboard would not call that decision “A terrible business decision”). After the Captain or crew explained to you that there was no catering on board for your group and we could not accept the change to the 5-Hour tour you said you will be leaving a negative review if you couldn’t stay on for the 5-hour tour. Well don’t threaten us with reviews when the mistake is on you. That’s like booking a flight to Australia and in the middle of the flight asking the captain to go to New Zealand because you made a mistake on your booking. The threat of leaving a bad review is not going to change the fact that you booked the 3-hour tour or make the catering go from 31 to 36 people to accommodate your group. We operated the tour exactly how it operates every day. You shouldn’t be angry at us for your mistake. Sometimes we have people cancel or no show in the morning after catering has been arranged. If that was the case we would have had extra food onboard but it was not the case that day. With regards to your comment “Larry dumped us off the boat on a beach very far north of Bridgetown as thought we were immigrants being dumped on the shore line.” The 3-hour tour finishes in Holetown unless sea conditions don’t allow for the beach landing; then another location is used on those very few days. This was all explained to you before you boarded the boat and you still went ahead, so that was no surprise to you. The beach drop off is actually a highlight to some passengers, because it can reduce their travel time back to their accommodation which would have been the case for you had you not cancelled your pick up and drove to our location. Our whole team works very hard every day to deliver excellent customer service, and to have you threaten us with a bad review and then misrepresent what in fact happened merits this response.

Great experience. There were a lot of other tourists / catamaran boats in the snorkeling areas, somewhat crowded, but the El Tigre crew made our cruise individualized, unique and unforgettable experience.

Fun in the sun, Barbados 2018
We were a group of 18 friends, choosing to celebrate a 60th birthday, aboard the Cool Runnings catamaran. What a fabulous day! From the minute we stepped aboard, the fun started. The staff were fantastic hosts, food was lovely & the drinks kept flowing. Highly recommend this trip to young & old. You won’t be disappointed.
