- MRicci120 contributionsRays, Turtles, Tarpon and Winston! What an exceptional day in Barbados with the folks at El Tigre. Got to swim with turtles, rays, tarpon and tons of beautiful reef fish. The whole crew was smazing but wanted to recognize Robert, Wayne and most especially Winston for helping make our day on the water EXCEPTIONAL!Written 25 November 2024
- TANHOUSENEWLAND0 contributionsFantastic boat trip!!Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip yesterday. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect afternoon. Ryan, Winston & Daniel went out their way to ensure all our needs were tended to and what fine company too. Just the right balance of professionalism, camaraderie and all of them so entrancing with so many stories to tell. We felt like we had been on the sea with them for a whole season not just a few hours! Thank you so so much!! We can't wait to do it all again!! 5 Hundred Stars!!!Written 11 July 2024
- debb8510 contributionsVery Nice But Little Sailing DoneWe did the 5 hour Lunch and Snorkeling tour that began at around 9AM. Great boat, nice food and drinks, friendly staff. Only drawbacks were that we didn't do much sailing like I expected and the snorkeling was less than impressive since we couldn't see much and there was hardly any sea life nearby to observe. Would go again though, a nice time overall.Written 22 April 2024

- mclahalp0 contributionsIncredible experience! All the staff were brilliant. They created a fantastic atmosphere. Sailing along the bay, snorkeling in the beautiful blue sea and seeing a turtle for the first time was very special. The crew were professional and made our safety a top priority. There was a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served throughout the trip. We were picked up and dropped back to our hotel as part of the service. We highly recommend El Tigre Cruises.Written 31 January 2024
- June T0 contributionsA little disappointedI think we got the crew on a bad day! They seemed to be ‘going through the motions’but there was no enthusiasm at all. This was our 3rd cruise with El Tigre and previously the crew have been fun, entertaining and informative.Food was good and plentiful, however drinks weak. The usual stops to see shipwreck and turtles, but the crew just seemed disinterested.Just not what we were expectingWritten 29 January 2024

- petey30 contributionsSuper fun for couples and families!!Excellent staff! They did such an exceptional job with the families on the catamaran who had kids! They were constantly checking in on everyone, helped those who were struggling with the snorkeling, and always willing to lend a hand!Written 16 January 2024
- Carey7050 contributionsWhat a day!A really great day out. It was a “well-oiled “ experience and everything was executed perfectly by the extremely attentive and friendly crew. The drinks flowed, the music was typically reggae and the whole vibe was just one of utter happiness. We extended to the 5 hour trip with lunch, which was also excellent. The boat has a covered cabin where people who didn’t want to sunbathe on the main deck could enjoy the view and everything on offer and there was a loo on board too. We snorkelled and saw small turtles clawing their way across the bottom of the sea and the shipwreck. All equipment including fins were provided. Everything was as described, it wasn’t overcrowded at all and the hotel pick up and drop off was perfect. We tipped well as these guys put their heart and sole into it. We even sailed under canvass which was so lovely.Written 15 January 2024

- Rich B0 contributionsDefinitely take this El Tigre tourThis Catamaran 5 hour snorkeling and lunch experience was SUPERB! From the hassle-free pick-up to drop-off at end, all was terrific. The crew was incredible - friendly, helpful and so caring. The Catamaran was perfectly cleaned and the right size for the number of passengers. The lunch food was really good and plentiful. The morning Coconut bread and afternoon banana bread were tasty. The unlimited drinks - alcoholic or not were served by the crew to us no matter where we were sitting. Always with smile and quickly. Then there was the incredible snorkeling- BEST we’ve ever had. We had about 35 minutes in area where there were sunken vessels as reefs. The colors and types of fish were terrific. The crew in the water gave us directions to find the best spots, and helped people who had questions. The masks didn’t fog up or leak - first time ever for me. We then moved to a second place a few minutes up the coast and another 35 minutes of terrific snorkeling. This time we saw sea turtles, sting rays, and different fish. Thank you to Chris, Marlin, Richard, and Captain Larry. (Missed one name) as a super crew. Highly recommend this!!!Written 30 December 2023
- Susan B0 contributionsGreat crew. Relaxed vibe. Turtles!!! Ray!! Sunset!Great crew. Relaxed vibe. Drinks and snacks were nice touch. Well where to start! Picked up by minibus and taken to the marina by way of Rhianna's original house, all part of an enjoyable mini tour from our driver on route to Bridgetown to board our catamaran El Tigre. Celebrating I believe her 47th birthday El Tigre is an immaculately kept classic catamaran with plenty of comfortable space on board and very well appointed.
We left the marina to our first stop and a swim with the turtles beautiful almost Jurassic and graceful creatures. Then on to our second stop some wreck snorkelling with a backdrop of beautiful tropical fish and large silver Tarpon which to the non marine expert you could say they were a very believable member of the shark family.
Next a delicious lunch stop with rice, chicken, macaroni pie salad and fresh rolls. equally delicious cake and bread were also available throughout the trip and at no point was my glass empty. Beer, rum punch soft drinks, coffee are all available from a well stocked and very generous crew bartender.
Finally the crew I wont name them because I do not want to forget anyone but they were all fantastic! Very attentive extremely funny and dare I say they seemed to enjoy every minute of our cruise as much as we did. However, at all times very professional!
The guests were all looked after according to their various abilities safety was paramount and the entire boat and crew worked tirelessly to ensure we had a fantastic day.
My wife and I had the perfect day enjoyed every second and would not hesitate to recommend El Tigre. I am sure their are other enjoyable Catamaran tours but given the choice we will be back on board with this crew in a heartbeat fantastic day and we hope to see you again soon.

We booked this trip as a group of 4 friends as part of a 50th birthday week away in Barbados. From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. Efficient pick up and transport to the port, then quick and easy loading on to the boat, then fun all the way. Very free flowing drinks of every kind, served by the crew directly to us as we sunbathed. We stopped at a few areas to see shipwrecks and all sorts of marine life. The crew got in the water to guide us to the best spots and we saw lots and lots of fish, and a turtle! The crew went above and beyond to ensure that we saw as much as possible. Then lunch was served, which far exceeded my expectations for what could be done in such a small space. The food was excellent and piping hot. The crew were so lovely, so fun and so dedicated. Incredible value for money given all you get for the price. Don't hesitate, this is a fantastic experience!

My wife scheduled the 3 hour tour (I know Gillian’s Island set a bad precedent for 3 hour tours) for the southern and western coast of Barbados.
From the van pickup at our hotel to leaving the dock and returning, everything was on time and efficient. The crew was professional and helpful. I was surprised at how service oriented they were in the way they waited on everyone with drinks and refreshments. They kept everyone hydrated.
I’m not an expert on coconut bread but it seemed dry though that wasn’t the reason we booked the tour.
The catamaran was smooth and probably the best vessel for those who get seasick. It was great experiencing the old fashioned effect of sail power.
The crew provided everyone with snorkels, masks, fins, noodles for floating and life jackets if needed.
They kept an eye on every person for safety and to get the best view of turtles, fish and ship wreckage.
As they caution, please bring sunblock because the wind will hide the fact that the sun is slowly baking you.
Great experience for the family and we would recommend this for others.

Was really looking forward to this experience but was disappointed. Our driver arrived 25 minutes late and I had to contact El Tigre to confirm he was on his way. There were 11 people to the van which is very tight when they are all adults.
We arrived at the boat and were some of the last people on which meant there was limited space to sit. They say they only take 36 people but 36 people is to many for this size boat. People were walking over us every time they needed to go to the bar.
The first snorkel of the day at the shipwreck was the best. Lots of fish. At one point I asked one of our guides what type of fish was the long fish, he said he didn’t know, maybe a trumpet fish, but he was rude about it.
The second snorkel with the turtle was disappointing. There were a total of 2 turtles. The guide told us to stay away from one of the turtles so he could come up for air. After, he came to the surface, I asked how often they come up for air and he told me he didn’t know and that I should ask Mr Google…really?
We did the 3 hour trip and I was never so happy to get off the boat. We have done these types of trips all over the world and this experience was the worst we ever had. It is definitely not worth the money. Find another vendor to go with for a better experience.

Good organisation but too many people for snorkelling & lots of shouting to be in certain places whilst in the water … crew friendly & helpful onboard. We did 3hr tour and hadn’t realised you get off half way assumed there was a 3hr & 5hr boat tour. Would recommend paying more so there is less than 36 on the boat, especially for the snorkelling experience, all we could see was feet!
There were turtles, sting ray & fish.

This was our first day and first excursion of our 2 week Caribbean cruise/Honeymoon, and what a start to the holiday it was. Amazing from start to finish.
We were collected from the Cruise port. Driver was very friendly and informative of areas/building/history along the way. (Return drop off included however we opted for a walk back).
Once onboard, we were offered drinks straight away while waiting for all guests to arrive and the crew got the ropes off etc. Drinks did not stop all day. We never had to ask. As soon as you were almost empty, they were offering more. All drinks were kept cold and fresh and had a good variety of choice.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They would help you move around the cat if you were unstable, help with swimming aids, sit and talk to you, encourage you to be on top and take in the views, tell you about what you were seeing in the distances, answer any questions, encourage you to have fun and jump in and were very informative on what would happen next throughout the trip. Snorkels, jackets and Noodles provided.
The crew have no control over the wild habitats or weather and cannot guarantee perfect sights, but they would be in the water with you, trying their hardest to spot fish and turtles and directing you to the best areas to see, they really did want you to have the best day.
We booked the 5hr tour with lunch. Was not disappointed. Food was served buffet style onboard whilst anchored and was lovely. Chicken, fish, macaroni cheese, rice other sides and salads. Simple but lovely and really tasty. It was such a chilled environment, it was great to actually sit with the crew and other guest and enjoy a meal together. Followed by free time to swim and snorkel whilst the crew cleared and cleaned up.
The trip was not overbooked, some of the guests onboard also only opted for the 3hr duration and so were dropped off mid way through. Plenty of room and choice of places to chill out. It felt so much more personal. We anchored alongside another cat at one point and they were shoulder to shoulder and overcrowded - not our idea of chilling.
All in all, amazing day, 100% do this trip again when we return to Barbados!

As we sailed back to the dock, the captain remarked "it wasn't too bad of a day since it wasn't sunny." I hardly noticed the clouds, as the crew did an excellent job of making this a very enjoyable excursion. It did rain a couple of times--the crew was quick to roll down the wind/rain flaps to protect those who huddled in the cabin. At times the rain may have been cold, but the sunny disposition of Morgan in her tiny kitchen/bar kingdom handing out rum punch as well as some of her own concoctions kept us warm and smiling. The snorkel stops can be crowded and confusing. The crew worked tirelessly to be certain everyone saw turtles, stingrays and fish. I observed them being extra careful with non and hesitant swimmers. As experienced snorkelers, they gave my husband and me as much freedom as we needed. Watching the sails raise on the catamaran and moving under wind power was exhilarating, as well as economical for the operator and environment. Lunch, a variety of warm and cold food, was delicious and plentiful. We took this tour while on a cruise, the fish for lunch was fresher and better prepared than any on our ship. Transportation to and from the port was easy and well described as a meeting place, returning us to the port with just enough time to do a bit of shopping before boarding our ship. We are avid snorkelers and travel frequently. This cruise was fun, reasonably priced and well run.

Our family of 6 (adult children) had the most fantastic day on the 5hr catamaran excursion. Everything was perfect from pick up at our hotel to boarding the boat and swimming with turtles and a delicious lunch. The crew are what really made this day out special, they were all so kind and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They came in the water with us and made sure everyone was ok including any nervous swimmers- life jackets, floatation devices and snorkels all provided. The boat is spacious and comfortable and the food was delicious, plentiful drinks and good humour. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend, special mention to Winston who was so friendly and a great tour guide - telling us lots of interesting facts about the island along the way. Thanks to all the crew for a memorable trip- we loved it .

We went on a very lovely sailing cruise with El Tigre. The staff/crew were lovely, attentive, helpful. The boat was comfortable with many options in and out of the sun to sit and enjoy the views, breezes, waves and sun. The food was delicious.
The snorkeling was not great. Both stops were very near beaches. During the first stop, we saw some stingrays (very exciting) and a turtle and some tarpons. The area was full of boats, so there were a lot of snorkelers and we needed to be wary of boats coming and going. The second stop with the shipwrecks had many sergeant majors and a few other types of fish.
The best part of the trip was everything but the snorkeling. We strongly recommend this crew and the boat as long as your snorkeling expectations are very modest.

Great boat. Not over crowded. Free flowing drinks. Decent lunch - chicken, fish, mac’n’cheese, slaw, great salad. Staff were awesome, from Chris the bus driver who picked us up, Maureen serving the drinks, and Richard, Kevin and Captain Larry. So friendly and professional. We did the 5hour cruise including lunch. For the folks who did the 3hour snorkelling only version, I feel like they may have felt like they didn’t get a lot of time in the water. But on the 5hr version, we were back in the water after lunch. Definitely feel like it was worth it and good value for money when you take the food and drinks into account. Highly recommend it!
When we got to the dock there were two boats. It looked like the outer boat filled up with all 5hr people. Then the inner boat was all the 3hr people plus the remaining 5hr folks. We were among the last to board which meant we were on the second/inner boat with the mix of 3 and 5hr folks. Beauty of that is while the other boat was full for the whole 5hours, our boat more than half emptied at 3hrs and so the remaining 2hrs was really nice. Not sure if it works that way every day, but it worked well for us.

Yes my mum is the same and she stayed on board during the snorkeling. They chatted with her the whole time. If you are lucky you can see the turtles heads pop up For weak swimmers they also offer flotation vests and pool noodles. Enjoy!
