Bright Angel Trail offers a wealth of day hiking opportunities on this tour! The trail switchbacks down from the South Rim Village to Mile and a Half Rest House, then 3 Mile Rest House, then Indian Garden at 4.5 miles and Plateau Point at 6 miles. So this tour can be done as a 3-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, or 12-mile round trip hike. For ambitious travelers, Plateau Point (12 miles round trip) offers the most "bang for the buck" with stunning views of the Inner Gorge and the Colorado River. Indian Garden (9 miles round trip) is another excellent longer option with a shaded oasis with a spring-fed creek for a picnic lunch. And for less ambitious travelers, Mile and a Half and 3 Mile rest houses offer fantastic hikes.

Great time on South Kaibab trail
We had a great time and our guide, Zeke, was awesome! The S Kaibab trail was truly amazing and hiking it with an experienced and fun guide made it even better. Great experience!

      Wonderful experience!
My family did a half-day hike with Wildland Trekking on June 13 and it was amazing! Our guide, Catherine, was knowledgeable, encouraging, accommodating, capable, and incredibly patient with us as one member of our group needed a slower pace at times. We had five people in our private tour (ages 22-62) and it was perfect. The sights were breathtaking and Catherine provided a wealth of information about the topography of the Grand Canyon and its ecosystem. I would highly recommend using this company if you're looking for private tour/guide.

      An Amazing Experience
A huge thanks to Wildland Trekking for offering the 4 day Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike and all the support that came with it. The experience was life changing in many ways - too many to write about. Our guide, Michael Wichman, was more than anything we could have expected. He did everything with such grace and always had an amazing attitude. Michael’s knowledge of the Grand Canyon was impressive as he pointed out several features throughout the days on our hike. His ability to keep our group together, even though we hiked at different speeds, was an art. Throughout the course of our journey Michael had to navigate difficult situations and he maintained a professional demeanor throughout.

Great day hike on S. Kaibab trail!
We had a 100% positive experience with Wildland Trekking for our Grand Canyon hike. Our guide, Michelle, was amazing. She made this experience absolutely perfect. She was so professional, informed, kind, helpful, encouraging at the rough spots, and a truly interesting person -- all the good things. She made sure we were always safe, and we also learned so much about hiking, the area in general, and the canyon from her. Lunch was delicious too! I am still in awe of how she made a great lunch on a ledge in the canyon - but she did! We thoroughly enjoyed our hike and a lot of the reason was because she made it such a great day in every way. The S. Kaibab trail was stunning. It was challenging in a good way, and the views were spectacular. I am so glad we did this, and we will definitely use Wildland Trekking for future trips.

Great day in the Canyon with Zeke!
Zeke McDonald was an awesome guide on the South Kaibab trail - super knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and oriented toward making sure that we got whatever we wanted out of the experience. R/T transport from Flagstaff was terrific, lunch and snacks were great, and the equipment provided (day pack and poles) made a huge difference. Such a great lifetime memory - thanks, Zeke!

      Terrific Canyonlands Backpacking Trip
Wildlands is a first-class guide service, from the front desk staff to the guides. They led us on a multi-day backpacking trip in Canyonlands, UT and it was terrific. Tracy, our guide, managed to balance patience for the noobs, with providing extra challenge for the more experienced members of our group. She cooked every meal for us and everything was healthy and delicious. Highly recommend Tracy and Wildlands.

Fabulous! Don't miss The Best of Moab. Utah
Fabulous trip to The Best of Moab with Wildlands. Everything exceeded my expectations. The guide, Dakota, made the trip with the depth of his knowledge and friendly personality. The fact that he prepared a fresh lunch on the trail every day (including packing in a watermelon) provided an unexpected extra treat each day. The daily itinerary was varied and I feel that I truly experienced the diverse geography of Arches and Canyonlands national parks. With a physically strong and age diverse group (20-60) Dakota planned each day’s route for us to achieve the maximum miles and sights. The accommodations at Red Cliffs Lodge were very nice; the staff pleasant the rooms large and clean. Most importantly, the lodge is nestled at the base of large mountains on a bend in the Colorado river. Every day there were picturesque sun rises and sun sets. It was located 20 minutes out of Moab. In planning the trip, the staff at Wildlands Trekking was extremely helpful and accommodating. I would go with Wildlands again and I strongly recommend this trip.

Best way to truly experience the Canyon
Our experience with Wildland Trekking (including our guide, Catherine) was fantastic from start to finish. Booking and pre-trip communication was excellent. During our daylong tour, we learned so much about the canyon and its history, the area, and the people. Our guide selected a perfectly rugged and uncrowded trail for our hike, something we would never have found without her. She even kept my teenagers engaged and safe throughout the entire day. Based on this experience, I can’t wait to do another trip with Wildland Trekking.

      Grand Canyon hiking
My son and I took the lodge based Grand Canyon hiking trip. We enjoyed everything about it. Our guide Beau was knowledgeable, not only about the Grand Canyon, but about hiking in many of the Southwestern parks. The hikes into the canyon were great. The provided lunches and snacks were well-prepared and delicious. Lodging at the El Tovar was wondeful. I would stay there again. Would recommend this for people who want to hike in the Grand Canyon but don't necessarily want to tent camp.

Wonderful Private Group Tour of the Grand Canyon
I highly recommend Wildland Trekking for your next outdoor adventure. Our guide, Quinton, was an excellent hiking guide and educator! He was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive to our hiking needs, checking in on the pace of the hike, giving clear directions on the trail, and providing lots of interesting historical facts about the rock formations, the flora, and the history of the Grand Canyon. He was a joy to spend the day with and I would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone hiking the Grand Canyon or other treks.

Wildland Trekking made our GC trip unforgettable!
Our trip with Wildland Trekking was down the Grandview Trail to Horseshoe Mesa. It was a hard trip, but amazing. Our guide Tamara, was excellent. She took care of every detail. Make sure you train for a trip like this, follow Wildland's preparation guide. We are so thankful we trained hard, because it made the trip enjoyable and exhilarating. We will book another trip with Wildland in the future.

Wildland Trekking - Grand Canyon - Dakota Copeland
Incredible trip led by Dakota Copeland. Our group had a wide range of abilities (26 years old to 60+). Very patient and accommodating to all skill levels. Very knowledgeable of the area and the hikes. Between the geological info to fun stories of the area from the past to present, each hike was never dull. Plus each hike was different both in terrain type and views, which made the trip feel very in depth for such a large area in a relatively short time. Nothing bad to say. Incredible trip, well organized, good food, good group. 10/10 trip. Highly recommend Dakota for any trips in your future.

      great experience, great guide
I had always wanted to visit Grand Canyon and this part of the USA. So glad we did it with a guide because we were able to have experiences we never would have thought of without a knowledgable guide. Our Wildland guide was the best guide we could possibly imagine. He was super helpful, patient, punctual, and friendly. My wife and I are probably just going to do all our trips through Wildland from now on.

      amazing trip!
After spending some time on our own exploring and hiking around Arizona and Utah, we ended our 10 day trip with 3 days in the Grand Canyon with Wildland Trekking’s ‘Best of Grand Canyon’ trip. We stayed in the El Tovar Hotel on the south rim and took 3 amazing hikes- 2 down into the canyon about 2thousand feet-really getting to experience the challenge and amazing beauty of the canyon. The last day we hiked the rim. Our guide, Rafi was exceptionally excellent. She related and connected so well with us and the other member of the team. She shared so much natural and cultural history and information about geology, birds, animals and people. She took such good care to arrange and provide for all our meals and snacks even given some important dietary restrictions and shuttled us back and forth to Flagstaff. This trip could not have been any better! I’m so happy we chose Wildland Trekking for our Grand Canyon adventure as I think we got much more out of it than we would if we were trying to plan our own hikes for the short time we had there. thank you!

The hike was absolutely beautiful. It was an amazing way to see the Grand Canyon. Our guide (Dakota) was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable about the Canyon and provided a lot of historical context to the hike. He also went at “our pace” and didn’t push too much. He cooked up a tasty quesadilla for us at the halfway point and entertained us with dad jokes on the hike back up. We’re excited to return and take a much longer hike into the canyon (hopefully with Dakota).

We did the 3 mile Bright Angel day hike OCT 4th with a 7am start time. Weather was great...chilly start so you'll need a light jacket but warmed up as we went. Didnt need the 3 liters of water with the weather as mild as it was...1-2 would have been plenty. Not crowded at all going down at this time. Got much more crowded going back up. The views were amazing and our guide Catherine was terrific! She seemed to know everything about the canyon and more. She was also very flexible and patient with our group to ensure we enjoyed the experience exactly as we wanted to. Everything about the day went smoothly (booking, meet up, equipment, etc) right up to the delicious lunch she prepared for us at the end. Would definitely do it again!

My son and I wanted to do a hike into the canyon and we heard this was one of the more popular hikes. Shayne was awesome. We met at 6am as the canyon was going to be hot as the day wore on. This is a great hike as it allows you to take on a little or a lot. With stopping points at 1.5, 3 and 6 miles. We decided on the 3 mile which gave us a 6 mile round trip. According to my GPS, it is closer to 7.4 though. The hike should not be taken for granted. Going down is easy from the standpoint of endurance, but there are lots of logs and rocks that serve as steps and makes it even more difficult. Coming back up is not for the faint of heart. We were supplied with trekking poles which really help. We both had water camel packs, but Shayne came prepared with everything. He was a non-stop source of information and stories about the canyon. When we finished he provided a great picnic lunch. We plan on going back and doing the overnight version.

Great first hike in Grand Canyon. Our guide was Chris E, who was fabulous. He answered all of our dumb questions, was extremely knowledgeable, and had his eye on safety the whole time. We hiked in the midst of an extreme heat wave and he was very accommodating with water and carrything things that became to uncomfortable for us. If you get Chris as you're guide, you are in luck! He brought us to a great lunch spot on the trail and served us fruit, brie, and candied bacon. I mean, WOW!

My son and I did the Rim to Rim Winter Hike, a six day five night experience The weather was fabulous! A group of six including our guide , Moshe.
This was my first time backpacking. Wildlands did a great job preparing me for the trip in letting me know what to expect.
Moshe was very experienced and professional.
I would highly recommend this trip if you want to explore the canyon.
Beware that this is a physically and mentally challenging trek. It is equally rewarding!

Excellent tour, with our guide Shayne. Everything was well organized and on time. He was equipped for anything. Including the fact that our camera phone went dead. He lent us his and sent us the pictures later.

He packed a lot to bring down the trail. Our food, extra water etc. Very educational and the pace was as we wanted it. Definitely would go with him again for the longer trek.

Just one grip. This is the Grand Canyon and you descend first. So the second half of the trip was all uphill! He didn't tell us that.

We saw a lot we would have never noticed on our own. Great day. Lots of wildlife and great photo stops. We felt safe the whole trip (Covid-wise and Big Cliffs-wise).

This was hands down, one of my top 3 hiking experiences. Our guide Jillian was fantastic, she truly is a trail angel, as another hiker called her. The hike is both challenging and beautiful. Your mind and body are fully present and alive every second of it. Jillian has solid knowledge of the history and geology of the area, so it feels like you are truly immersed in the place a

I did (2) tours of the Grand Canyon - the South Kaibab and the Bright Angel. Both guides were so knowledgeable and absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They made the entire excursion a true pleasure and did not make me feel insecure at all for the times I needed to stop and take a rest. :-) Overall a fantastic experience and I would absolutely use Wildland Trekking again!
