- Bronny590 contributionsFabulous guided tour of Beppu Hot Springs & GardenWe thoroughly enjoyed meeting our guide Tomoko who took us on a terrific tour of the Hot Springs & beautiful gardens in Beppu. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to see or get around the area so easily without her help. Tomoko is such a delightful person & we really enjoyed chatting to her. Some of the pool colours are amazingly different due to the mineral content. Steam vents are everywhere & you can choose to drink the water or steam your own food or have a foot bath. We returned to the Beppu train station by a local bus after a most enjoyable afternoon. We were particularly lucky that it did not rain!Written 18 November 2024
- tonl5190 contributionsA nice tour with a knowledgeable and pleasant guide in BeppuWe much enjoyed the “Beppu Half Day "HELL" Sightseeing Tour” with guide Wakamatsu Kimiko-san. We experienced not only some of Beppu’s hells and onsen’s but also learned about the city’s history geology, people and other charming places to visit during the remainder of our stay in Beppu.Written 15 May 2024

- Trail120908820380 contributionsWalking around the City was great -- but we welcome bus top-level sight-seeing as a relaxing breakAfter 2-days with a lot of walking around Fukuoka -- a cool afternoon open-top bus ride was a welcome treat for my wife Patit and I! At first I was excited to ride a "top-less" bus but settled down for the more sedate scenery... wonderful to see the City at bus-top level instead of from the sidewalk and with a more tiring pace....Written 12 October 2023

- 859nathya0 contributionsGreat experience! Elevated our tripMr. Takaya was a very nice man who took us to this destination. He was very interested in getting to know us and he was delightful. We learned a lot and we had a great time. The boat ride was calming and wonderful and we got to experience a different side of Japan. He also helped us buy tickets we needed for the express bus to another location. I would 100% recommend it!Written 28 July 2023
- Hadley S0 contributionsRelaxing day trip from busy FukuokaShinohara-san was a delightful tour guide. We mostly spoke in Japanese as we are trying to find opportunities to practice the language. The boat tour was fun, and Shinohara-san was extremely kind in congratulating us on our recent wedding. The uni restaurant we went to after the boat tour was enormous. We tried the traditional Unagi Seiro Mushi (steamed eel over thin-sliced egg). Shinohara-san was knowledgeable about Yanagawa traditions such as Saemon being displayed during the hinamatsuri festival, and also helpful in recommending other things to do in Fukuoka and Japan. We highly recommend this day trip from Fukuoka! Thank you.Written 11 April 2023
