      A wonderful day with Yuko
Yuko was a wonderful guide. The day was perfectly paced and we felt we saw all the highlights we wanted to see. We caught the fast train from Kyoto and Yuko met us at the station and dropped us back there after the trip. So easy. In the morning we want to Miyajima island which was fantastic. Then Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki for lunch - so delicious. In the afternoon we visited the peace dome, peace park and museum. Yuko shared so much helpful information with us. She is a delight to spend the day with and I would highly recommend doing this tour. Easily achievable if you’re staying in Kyoto or locally.

Goreilo from Viator was an excellent guide!
Our Viator guide Goreilo was outstanding. He was prompt, extremely knowledgeable and flexible as we often lingered longer at various destinations. His English was excellent and if he wasn't entirely certain of historical answers to our (many!) questions, he always had a binder with him to verify facts as required. We pretty much adopted Goreilo! He was our guide for four days of Tokyo sightseeing, and we so enjoyed his always-welcoming personality and light-hearted wit. We came armed with a list of places we determined we wanted to visit, but Goreilo offered up many other destinations he felt we would enjoy—including restaurants. We of course asked him to join us as our guest at various eateries!

      Rich history and beautiful scenery
Wonderful tour with Junichi. We had a party of 6, with three generations including my 82 yr old dad and my kids (5 and 9). Junichi was accomodating, friendly, funny and informative. We learned so much about Shinto and Japanese Buddhism. Nara is a beautiful place with a rich history. If we had more time, we would have liked to stay for several days. Thank you, Junichi for a great day.

      Get to know Tokyo
The tour was amazing we saw all the major areas in Tokyo. Rumi our guide was great, she did some pre planning and scouting based on our interests and came well prepared. We even ended up extending our tour by a couple hours. Highly recommend and ask for Rumi!

A personalised schedule with an experienced and knowledgeable guide.
Our day with Ken was great. He was very flexible with meeting us in a place closer to our accommodation and made a plan to fit in as much as possible from our list of interests. He adapted this along the way to suit our group and the time needed. His insight and knowledge of Japan’s culture, religious history and political past and present were really helpful for us to have a better understanding of the places we visited. We throughly enjoyed our time with him and would highly recommend this tour and the guides that are provided.

Kyoto tour guide with private car
Wonderful day tour with tour guide, Andy M! We also had a private driver. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and took us to all our wish list sites. We wanted to add on the Arashiyama Monkey Park and we were able to change our schedule around a little bit. At the end of our tour, we wanted to shop in a nearby area and Andy was able to have us dropped off there. Even tho our tour was over, Andy was going to show us around the shopping area but we said it was ok and he could go home. Thanx, Andy! We had a great time. 2 adults and 2 kids (17/21)

12/28 Nara guided tour with Junichi!
12/29/24. Amazing tour of Nara with Junichi! He was a wonderful guide. We had just arrived in Japan on 12/27 and Junichi gave us specific train schedule from our hotel to meet him at the Nara station. We stayed connected with WhatsApp. We had a wish list and he gave us a detailed itinerary. We were able to switch up a couple things because we wanted to spend more time feeding and bowing with the deer. lol. He was fluent in English and very knowledgeable about all the sites. At the end of our trip, we wanted to go shop in a nearby area and he gave us recommendations for different shops to go to. I would totally recommend Junichi as a guide! I realize you can just walk around the area on your own but having all the history told to you as you walk by is amazing! Thanks, Junichi! ❤️. Family of 4 with 2 adults, 17 and 21 year old boys.

We were so lucky to have had Kaeko as our guide for our day in Osaka. She met us at our hotel in Kyoto with a smile and went by train with us to Osaka for the day. Could not have hoped for anyone better to show us the sites! Highly recommend Kaeko

Kris was a 6 star guide.
It was our first time in Tokyo and Kris designed a personalized 3 day program just for us. We saw the essence of the city and benefited from his learned and historical narrative. He also was very generous in sharing the culinary, cultural and religious practices of Japan. We highly recommend that when you book ask specifically for Kris.

Hiro San was very informative and efficient in how we got around Kyoto. In addition to the great sites of Kyoto he brought us to all the places for shopping (utensils, tea and spices). Great day out

      8 hour Kyoto tour
We were a family of 5 from Austin,Tx and wanted to learn about the all the modes of transportation in and around Kyoto. We took a 8 hour tour on our first day in Kyoto. I selected 4 sites(as recommended for this duration). A 5th site was suggested, but we felt rushed in the beginning so I chose to remove the extra site. It is important to communicate with your guide along the way, if you want to slow down or do a little shopping at the site you need to ask. While we did learn a little about the train system, we were discouraged about using the busses. We had to take the initiative to ask our guide questions about getting around, he actually made us worry for a while as to wether or not we could do this on our own.

      Lovey day with Fumiko
Fumiko is a very warm and sweet lady. She has reached out right after the booking confirmation, and worked patiently with me on the itinerary. During the tour, she was very accommodating and sensitive to the kids’ needs ( 2 teenagers and an 8 year old). She even gave the them candies at the end of our tour, which they really appreciated. We enjoyed her company, and the kids loved her!

      Excellent Tours with Yama!
I highly recommend Yama and the Japan Guide Agency for private tours of Kobe and Osaka. He tailored the tours based on my interests and did an excellent providing options and finalizing an itinerary well in advance of our meeting. Kobe is an easy train ride from Osaka and there is so much to see. There is no substitute for having a local show you around their hometown. My tours were informative, enjoyable, and exactly the experience I was looking for when I booked a local guide. Yama does an excellent job taking pictures and providing recommendations for restaurants and activities. He is also a genuinely nice guy. The Japan Guide Agency reservation process was efficient, and I received a confirmation within a few minutes of booking. A true 5 star experience.

Our tour was slightly different given we wanted to stay in the Toyosu area (to check out TeamLab afterwards) versus also going to Tsukiji. We enjoyed our tour with Nobu. We were able to see the various different areas of the Toyosu Marketplace including the early morning tuna auction, fruits/vegetable auctions, intermediary wholesale area and restaurant area. Navigating the different area on our own would have taken much longer so having a tour guide proved beneficial for us. Nobu was prompt, knowledgeable and very friendly. While the marketplace is walking distance to the nearest train station, we did take a taxi to catch the morning auction in time which should be kept in mind for those on a tight budget. We also popped by one of the marketplace sushi restaurants afterwards for breakfast which was delicious. The tuna auction is very early and the viewing deck can get busy but we had good views between 5:30-6:00 AM on a Monday.

Thank you very much for your review. Tuna Auction has been one of the most popular spots for tourists since it was held in Tsukiji, but it starts at 5:30AM, so we usually need to use a taxi from the hotel unless guests stay near Toyosu Market. Even so, I think it is attractive enough for many tourists. Since it is a private tour, we can stay longer in Toyosu Market or even skip Tsukiji if guests wish. Nobu

Our guide Isao was nothing short of *fantastic* on the Toyosu Tuna Auction and Tsukiji Fish Market Tour! He was professional, friendly, prompt, knowledgeable about the tuna auction and local history and he took us to a fantastic sushi bar for “sushi breakfast” after the tour. My friend and I were very impressed and would recommend this tour—and Isao as a guide in particular—to anyone who wants to do this!

Miya is on time ready to meet us. She’s very professional in educating us re tuna action, connecting the dots where the fish came , transport to Tokyo for action & then to consumers. She’s very personal considering us waking up early, not used to hot humid weather & therefore adjusting our schedule based on our needs.
She was our tour guide, but she can be a friend type of tour guide.
My 19 yr old grandson said “ Miya is knowledgeable & sweet”.

Great tour of the fish market and auction! I never knew tuna was that big! Kazuyasu Hakata was a fantastic guide. He promptly met us at our hotel and off we went to Toyosu Fish Market - knowledgeable, personable, and very insightful. He was also very helpful when shopping in market after the auction. And we had a great sushi breakfast at 6:30 am!

Thank you for your comments. It is my great pleasure that you enjoyed Tuna Auction tour. I tried to show you the flow of Fish supply chain from an auction ,sushi restaurant , shops to support people working there, and immediately transfer to shops at Tsukiji. It was good timing to see block of tuna on the shelf. Have a nice trip and I hope you will find out other charms of Japan. KAZU

We had a great morning with Hiromi! She was in contact with us before our tour to ensure a smooth pickup at 4am. She was knowledgeable and truly enjoys her job. We had an amazing omakase experience and great time exploring the market. She really made sure that we were able to see the auction from the best vantage points and was through in her explanation of what was happening throughout the experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour. Thanks again for a great day!

Thank you very much for your wonderful comments. I was impressed by how well-mannered you were! The omakase course at the sushi restaurant where I took you to, is often said to be the best one in Toyosu. I believe it is of the highest quality and will give the guests great experiences. I felt very happy that you chose it and became happy with it. I loved walking with you. I look forward to meeting you someday. Hiromi

We had Naoko as our amazing guide! Girly is young & well knowledge about both the Inner & Outer Fish Market at Toyosu is the inner market she will explain and bring you around to see the Morning Bluefin & Tuna auction happening, as well as, the history of the market within the area where smaller private markets are happening which you can see from the third-floor observation area. She also brought us around Toyosu Outer Market where you can buy certain seafood products, as well as, local stalls that sell snacks & food for you to eat like a traditional wet market! Sis can speak English quite well & can recommend nearby places to visit like the Hamarikyu Garden where you can drink traditional Matcha tea & treats after visiting the market for a peaceful time! Thank you, Naoko! 🥰😁

Our guide Goreilo was great and interactive.
The tour itself was a big let down. Apparently there are several spots where you can be within the same airspace as the auction site that is distributed via lottery. This tour is essentially going to a public site where you can just walk in yourself. Sure, our guide gave us a few tidbits, but it’s nothing you can’t get from a YouTube video. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this.

If I’m paying for a tour, at least make it so that we have access to non-public sites.

Thank you for joining our tour and for sharing your valuable feedback. We are delighted to hear that you found our guide, Goreilo, great and interactive. However, we are truly sorry to learn that the tour itself did not meet your expectations. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any disappointment caused. As mentioned in the tour description, this experience is designed from a public viewing perspective, but we strive to make it special by including insights and details from our knowledgeable guides. That said, we understand your desire for access to non-public sites, and we will carefully review how we can enhance the value and uniqueness of this tour in the future. Thank you once again for your honest comments. If you decide to give us another chance in the future, we would love the opportunity to provide you with an experience that exceeds your expectations.

The morning guided tour to Toyosu market was fantastic! The guide, Noriko, communicated very well in English and provided the insight of the tuna auction and the market that I would have missed had I done this on my own. I also requested we take time to eat a sushi breakfast at the market because I had never eaten sushi. The sushi breakfast was excellent and again the insight provided by the guide made it an even better experience. This tour was an authentic experience that made my trip to Japan complete.

Thank you so much for your warm comments. I am delighted that you enjoyed the tour to watch the tuna auction. The taste of the sushi we had for breakfast is unforgettable, isn't it? Sushi has now become an international dish, but still, the sushi in Japan, especially at Toyosu and Tsukiji, is the best. Looking forward to welcoming you again in Japan. Noripy (Noriko)

I had an excellent morning tour with expert guide Naoko Komiya. She met me in the lobby of my hotel and went by taxi first to Toyosu wholesale market to watch the tuna auction. Naoko was knowledgeable and extremely patient so I was able to enjoy the full experience without feeling rushed. Then we went by bus to the Tsukiji Outer Market where we wandered through the retail fish market (I would be frequently shopping there if I lived in Tokyo!). Then we went to a local shrine and around the outer stores enjoying the food stalls and buying some souvenirs. Naoko made sure I was oriented in the market and left me to enjoy on my own. I enjoyed excellent sushi. Naoko accompanied me for about 4 hours and I saw much more than I would on my own. Highly recommended tour if you are interested in food.
