Great day trip to Ghibli park and the aviation museum
The trip was well organized, our guide was great, engaging and telling us about the culture and giving recommendations to what to do and here to eat. The bus ride was smooth and the of course Ghibli park was awesome and the aviation museum was really interesting. The vegetarian meal was very good. I have a great time and they took care of us 😊

    Worst tour ever!
Got on the bus this morning only to be told that we wouldn’t see Mt Fuji because of the weather. Went up anything and had to didn’t time in the souvenir shop. Went to lunch and then got back only to be told no cable ride and no boat ride. Why pay $500 to go to a castle. What a waste of money.

    Very well organized tour!
The organization of the tour was great! They gave us lunch (bento box), they gave us good pointers for in the park. And afterwards we received a cute note from our tour guide. 5/5 for the organization. However, I expected the park to be more of an amusement park. It was a beautiful park to walk around, but there was not much to do besides walking and sightseeing. Unless you bought the premium ticket, which was not included in the tour. 3/5 for the park.

    Good host but expensive
A bit pricey but worth it. The guide was informative about the park and gave recommendations about how best to experience the park. If you can stay the night in Nagoya,do! The train from Kyoto was expensive. If you can though forking out for the premium tickets could be worth it (if you’re a major Ghibli fan) Though be careful as me and my sister went on a 1.1k walk as we got lost 😂

Feedback and praise about day tour service
A bit pricy, however I had a wonderful time exploring and learning about Ghibli. The guide was very nice, and clear with instructions. Would choose her again as a guide. Only thing I have to add is we found it hard to find the meeting point as we were confused by all the alternative taxi/bus stops.

Our 1 day Mt Fuji and Hakone tour experience was very, very poor.

I understand Mt Fuji is often obscured by cloud, but to have it clearly visible along the way, but no chance to take photo except while the bus is travelling, and 3/4 of passengers can't see it?? Why no stopping points off the highway? Drive into a side road to enable photos!

After the total mist at Station 4, the guide nevertheless promised "a great opportunity for photographs on the way to to lunch". This proved to be the guide saying " Mt Fuji view coming up, 1, 2, 3, now,  quick! ". Again a view from the travelling bus, not visible to back rows or any ones on left hand side of the bus. Why no stops for photographs, especially when weather further up was known to be poor?

The "sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi" was a very scant 15 mins from boarding to disembarkation ... perhaps 10 minutes on the water. Hardly a sightseeing cruise!

No cable car due to wind, ok, but no choice from the brochure alternatives, so we went to an aquarium.  Not exactly the Japanese culture we'd hoped for - such as one of the quoted alternatives, Odawara Castle.
So as we whizzed past Odawara Castle later, again no chance for a photo unless very quickly snapped from your seat in the bus if you were lucky to be on the right side. Why not take time from aquarium to find viewing spot?

Because we didn't stop anywhere to get a photograph of Mt Fuji, which was clear, this 71yo woman had to unbuckle her seatbelt, kneel on the back seat facing in reverse while the bus travelled down the freeway. Not safe, not happy!

For our $200aud Mt Fuji /Hakone tour, we got 5 hours in a bus, a good lunch with drumming performance , a bare 15 mins on boat, misty lookout, time in an aquarium (hardly Japanese culture as Odawara Castle would have been) and no photographs of Mt Fuji which was beautifully visible if only we could have stopped!

To add the final straw, we drove past our hotel (Keio Plaza, where we'd been picked up) to the station and had to walk back.

A very, very disappointing tour.

Very very poorly planned trip. Worst i have ever been on with any company. Wasted a day of my holiday, very disappointed. We booked the Mt. Fuji, Hakone and Lake Ashi trip. This consisted of 3 stops excluding lunch; 5th Station view point to see the mountain, then the lake to see the famous ashi lake tori on all the pictures, and then a cable car…with the mountain and the tori gate being what everybody wants to see. It was lightly raining in the morning and the coach was not permitted to the 5th station viewing point. We instead went to a visitor centre and saw nothing. We then went to the cable car. We then went to the lake and sailed to the port that was not near the famous tori as opposed to the port next to it. We ended up not seeing the mountain or the tori, at all. We just went on a cable car that nobody really bothered about. The day was so poorly planned and the trip ended around two hours early. There were times in the day where the mountain was visible from 5th station and it wasn’t raining, according to weather reports. If the day was organised more dynamically then there would have been no problem. If the cruise selected docked at a the other port then no problem. If there was a single alternate viewing point for the mountain then probably no problem. Very very disappointing. The tour guide was a nice man and did a good job; he was the one positive of the trip. Basically, we paid £100 each to see nothing and loose a day.

Amazing tour, our tour guide was so informative and knew tons of fun facts, she kept us entertained the whole time and we learned a lot about Mt. Fuji and the rest of the areas we passed by.

We got lucky and were able to see the mountain even though June-August is not a great season to visit.

Make sure to be on time as well as keep track of time at rest stops to ensure you’re not late on the bus. Our tour group ended up getting 15 mins more time on the boat tour because we got there a bit early.

Highly recommended!

This tour can be summed up in a few words- ride a bus most of the day, get dropped off at mediocre gift shops ( Buc-ees gas station is better than these places) to waste time perusing tchotchkes and fattening desserts, and sit in traffic inside a tunnel for 45 minutes on the long drive home.
We never so much as took a little walk on Mt Fuji or stopped to take a good photo. We barely spent any time there. Seems the point was to get us to buy stuff at the stop. The boat ride was an absolute joke lasting ten minutes and crossing a small lake. They also included a boring cable car ride to literally look at a pile of dirt. Definitely not worth risking your life over. Bonus it smelled of sulfur. I think we found the only two rude people in Japan as our tour guide and point of contact. We were greeted by a very rude woman who spoke demeaningly to us and sent my family to the bathroom while the tour guide wanted to leave. The guide warned everyone on the bus in her prepared speech several times that in Japan if ur not completely punctual you may be left. The lunch was atrocious. I’d rather eat hospital or prison food. The chicken tasted like it was still defrosting. I did not see anyone eat much. By and large I felt like a naive tourist that was taken advantage of.

You see everything as described, but the organization of it is really poor, and leaves you spending most of your time not seeing the sights. After a long drive (expected) you get a few minutes at 5th station before being whisked away to a long (tasty) lunch at a roadside restaurant with no view. You then get 5 minutes at a lakeside town before boarding the ferry and going to the ropeway, with long drives between each stop. There is no reason lunch could not be enjoyed in one of the lakeside towns, which would greatly improve the tour. Additionally it should leave earlier in the morning, to maximize time at the 5th station.

The tour is very interesting and educational. You will leave on a nice tour bus for about two hours to the Mountain You go to the highest point and look around for like a half an hour to 45 minutes as well as there’s a nice shop with goodies up there you can buy food be sure to bring cash do not accept credit cards or debit cards. And the tour bus does not have a bathroom so just be advise go before you leave. After the highest point, you take another hour to another little city fall by a boat ride and then you take a trim down the mountain and up the mountain. If the skies are clear, you could see everything if it’s cloudy, you won’t see much, but still hell of experience. If your toolbox is running late, be prepared for the traffic on the way home we were supposed to get back at 6:30. We were half an hour late we didn’t get back to 830 due to the Japan Highway traffic is insane at rush-hour. All in all it was a beautiful trip. The food was amazing. The site was amazing. Be sure to take plenty of pictures. I would definitely do it again in the summer but cherry blossom season was definitely a win.

Such a lovely day to end our manic trip to Japan.
Pickup was (as with everything in Japan) organised and on time. Our guide was such a lovely lady who pointed out lots of things of interest along the way.
We were lucky with the weather and got some amazing views of Mt Fuji bith on the way, from station 4 (weather - snow) too bad for 5, apparently, and the crowning glory from Hakone ropeway.
The food was similar to what we had on other tours ("stew" with vegetables and noodles, some sashimi with wasabi and pickled ginger, etc... very tasty and not too "challenging" in terms if difference.
The cruise was only 15 mins and took you to the ropeway station. It provided some great views both of the lake and of Mt Fuji.
On the way back you had the opportunity to travel some of the way by shinkansen - it shortened the journey by 30ish minutes and would be a great chance to experience the Shinkansen - we didnt take this up as we had travelled to Kyoto and Hiroshima earlier in the week.
All in all it was a great trip and we would recommend it.

The bus ride up was nice. A lot of people slept since it was so early. Our guide, Yuka, was friendly and spoke clearly. She gave us a lot of history for those that are interested. Unfortunately, the mountain was covered with clouds so we couldn't really see it. However, it was still nice to know how close we were to it. The lunch was pretty good and it came with an interesting drum show! The most fun part was when we got to ride on a pirate ship for Lake Ashi. It was really unique. The cable car was great. It was so fun! I'd never ridden one so I was nervous, but it was fun and a great picture opportunity. After we got off, we had about 45 minutes to shop and look around the volcano and take pictures. On the way back, Yuka showed us how to make an easy Mt. Fuji origami and that was really cute too! The tour was mostly bus so you don’t need to worry about extensive walking. Side note: the cool and windy weather was a nice change from the humid city. Bring a jacket!

The tour was good, stop at every place they promised. Except the time allow at the Mt Fuji 5th Station, it was too short; we had only 20 minutes instead of the 30 minutes, it took 5 minutes just to get off the bus with a full load of passengers. Very friendly staff and the bus was very clean.
