- jnap1600Great day tripWe (4 people) had a great experience! Our guide, Roy, was punctual, and gave very interesting history and cultural facts along the drive to yamanashi. Mt fuji was a bit shy, but we enjoyed a detour to the shibazakura festival, before proceeding with Mt Fuji 5th station, local lunch, and panoramic ropeway. A great day trip, picked up and dropped off at hotel with no issues. Thanks Roy and our driver!
- underspring300000Amazing way to experience KyotoMiki was our tour guide, and she was remarkably kind and informative. My partner and I discussed beforehand with Miki what we most wanted to see. She also helped with finding reservations for a delicious obanzai lunch as well as running the itinerary by us beforehand to confirm it was what we were hoping for. Miki took us along the most scenic walks between places and we all discussed various aspects of the culture and history of Kyoto, in addition to viewing the various locations we were trying to see. She also took us to some street markets by our destinations in order to show us where we could find the items we were looking for the most, as well as showing us some less-visited sights that were gorgeous while traveling between places. Overall, Miki was an extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and sweet guide. She was definitely one of the best tour guides we’ve had.

Visiting a different country can be extremely nerve-racking so we decided to take a private tour. Our guide Yoshi did not disappoint! He started us off at the fish market where he explained almost everything that was on display, visited a few shrines and a Buddhist temple. Having him navigate the train stations was such a time saver. The train stations are easy enough to get through but he knew them all. He suggested a really great sushi bar for lunch and took us there, taught us some phrases to thank our servers and took us to the Meiji Shrine. We went to Ginza and the Shibuya Crossing. He took us to a street called "Girl Street" I think where he let my wife go to a cat cafe that she wanted. We ended at a place that he said pours the best Asahi and he was right! He made sure we knew where to go and was very professional and kind. I would recommend him to a customized tour which he served as a great guide. There was no way we would've seen all we did without him.

Yoshi did an amazing job getting us to all the sites we requested and sharing his own experiences after living here for so long. He was such a wealth of information and knew how to get around very efficiently. One of the highlights for my husband was going through the back alley that briefly passed through a cafe into another alley after leaving a shrine. I really appreciated visiting all the shops that have been around 100+ years run by multiple generations doing the same craft. Was hard to really narrow down what we loved most but those two stood out as very unique. Thanks Yoshi! Hope to see you again someday and without the threat of CoronaVirus!

Very dissapointing tour, but some of the sights were worth visiting.
We chose the full day tour with public transport. We were given the option to choose what we visited and made some choices including the fish market and some traditional neighbourhoods and we allowed our tour guide to choose the rest.
The fish market was interesting as we received many explanations of what was being sold and the traditional neighbourhoods allowed us to discover some historic shops we may not have found otherwise. The rest of the tour was deeply disappointing. The imperial palace gardens were closed so instead we walked around the outside. Had we been informed they were closed, we would have chosen to do something else. We then went to a beautiful garden which was again, just walking around and was something we could have done better in our own time. Our tour guide (Yoshi) gave us very little information about Tokyo and the places we visited, often barely doing more than repeating what was written on the signs. I was hoping to learn about the recent and ancient history of Tokyo but we discovered very little. I don't like having to constantly ask questions of the tour guide in order to extract information, but if this is your style you may have more success.
I have been on many tours, both group and private, expensive and free and this was one of the worst. We learned very little and made inefficient use of time.
We had tickets to a sumo retirement ceremony the next day, and at our tour guides advice we went later in the day, rather than going at the starting time on our tickets. This resulted in us missing all of the sumo matches and entertainment and only witnessing the hair cutting ceremony. Incredibly disappointing as the matches were one of the main reasons we were going.
Not only did the tour feel like a huge waste of money, but our tour guides advice also resulted in our very expensive sumo tickets being almost a complete waste.

Thank you for taking your time to give us a review. We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our tour and the advice you received from our guide led you to miss the sumo matches before the retirement ceremony. We sincerely apologize. The Imperial Palace East Gate Garden was closed on Feb 1st unexpectedly , however the guide could have found it out before heading there. We apologize for that.
Despite of the experience you had, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the Tsukiji Fish Market and the historical neighborhood. Again, we are very sorry for the bad experience you had. We sincerely hope rest of your stay in Tokyo was enjoyable
Kind Regards,
Venture Team

Kumiko was a wonderfully insightful and patient guide for our 4 hour private half day tour of Tokyo with a driver. I was traveling with my mother and father, and we provided Kumiko a series of requirements for their accessibility and she was able to successfully customize the tour for our needs. She will even contact you well in advance to help plan the perfect itinerary, whether you are new to Tokyo or a frequent visitor. In our case, we needed to adjust the itinerary mid-way through the tour because of weather, and Kumiko was able to recommend new alternative sites to enjoy. She knows so much about the city.
Our itinerary included Senso-ji Temple, Early Cherry Blossom/Plum Blossom viewing, Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo Marathon Start Line viewing (my request).
I highly recommend Kumiko-san for a tour in Tokyo and will be excited to return for another in the near future.

My tourguide Junichi was punctual, polite, and personable. Junichi met me at my hotel which was greatly appreciated. I bought a Day-Pass for myself and for him for the subway system. Junichi eliminated the mental angst of trying to navigate a complex subway system in a foreign country. New York City subway does not phase me but I could not have done the Tokyo subway system without a guide. Junichi would even tell me how many stops we would be on every train, so I knew how long our rest would be. Your tour guide should not incur any expenses for food or subways but he was too polite to overtly express this so make sure you pay for these incidentals. “Fluent” in English can be a relative term. Intelligibility is not the same thing as fluency. English and Japanese sounds are not complimentary. I could understand about half of what Junichi said but this did not negatively impact my enjoyment. Junichi walks fast but will accommodate anyone. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes. If you are not an avid walker the all day (7-8 hour Tour) will be too much, and better to split it into two or more days. Don't be afraid to make little stops for anything you see that interests you (a souvenir, a giant raw oyster) but you may have to shout out to Junichi to please wait, as he will be making a bee-line from major attraction to major attraction. Excellent choice for lunch. Junichi has the knowledge to meet any expectation.

I had an excellent half day tour of Tokyo! Meg is an outstanding private guide, who communicated with me before the tour about what I wanted to see and was very flexible with time. Meg is very knowledgeable on all topics from history to food and adapted the tour as it unfolded to cover more of my interests. Using the Tokyo subway for transport was quick and easy and is a great way to see the city. I highly recommend this tour!

Had we been left to our own devices, we would have been horribly lost and frustrated. Instead, Mitch gave us a tour of a lifetime. Personalizing our interests made the trip rich and engaging. We felt like we really got to experience the flavor of the city, and experienced both traditional and modern elements. Mitch was flexible, patient, kind, and informative. His knowledge and side bar stories made the sites come to life. We were so grateful to have him with us! The highlights for us were the Meiji Jingu Shinto Shrine
Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Shibuya Crossing, the view from Asakusa Tourist Center, and Sensoji Buddhist Temple. The culinary experiences were exceptional! We loved our okonomiyaki lunch, the stop for Boba, and the taiyaki cake. He helped us take advantage of very authentic dining experiences. We would definitely hire this company if we ever make it back to Japan.

Toyo San reached out weeks in advance to customize our tour. We began our tour with a pleasant chat about the history of Tokyo. He was very responsive, attentive, and flexible to our needs and he adjusted our itinerary to suit them. He also explained to us how to navigate the train/subway systems.
What a great day exploring the beautiful gems in Tokyo, eating delicious snacks and enjoying the company of our guide. Highly recommend.

I am very happy that you were satisfied with my guide and for your high evaluation.
I will never forget how happy he was to draw a lucky omikuji fortune in Asakusa. I was also happy that you were pleased with the sushi at Tsukiji. I hope my guide was useful for your subsequent trips. I look forward to seeing you again.

Our family was on a 24-hour layover in Tokyo. Our guide, Kaori, made the most of our one-day tour. First, her English skills were excellent, which is not always the case with tour guides. Second, she squeezed in all of the places we wanted to see, and then gently prodded us to see a few more sites that she thought were "must see's." And finally, she has a warm and friendly demeanor that makes her very suited to the job. Highly recommend Kaori!

Mr. Okabe Koichi reached me through WhatsApp a month before the tour asking everything I desired to see just to organize it perfectly (timetable, distance among attractions, multiple lunch options). Perfect spoken English. He answered sincerly all made questions, even telling that he does not know some, searching the answer throught Internet. He was always looking for access for people with disabilities. Abobe all, a honest person; giving back the money I spent for tickets he used himself for SkyTree entrance and for the Sumida river Cruise. If you find the tour price too high, do not forget your Tokyo day will be perfect within the tourists’ tsunami in Tokyo.

Thank you very much for the excellent review! I for one believe that careful planning is one of the key factors in offering a pleasant experience to my guests, so I never cut corners in the preparation work, including communicating with them on WhatsApp.
I really enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful mother, as well as being your guide for the day. It was very enjoyable talking with you as we compared the culture, society and history of our two countries, Brazil and Japan; so thank you for being my guide to Brazil!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan. Should you come back to Japan in the future, I will be more than happy to be your guide again. Muito obrigado! Koichi

It is best to check it out with the private tour provider. We met our tour guides at Ueno station. We use public transport which is cheaper, and our tour itinerary is customised according to our preference with input fr our tour guides of course.

A few questions please.
1. We will be staying at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa. Do you offer pick up and drop off from there?
2. Can the Sky tree ( and going up to the observation deck) be included in the tour?......while still including the fish market?
3. English speaking guides?
4 A lunch stop included along the way?... my wife is diabetic and needs to eat about noon.
Thank you for your time.
