About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- tobester280 contributionsGreat serviceOur tour company used OUTECH for their shuttle service. Our driver, Babu was excellent. The car we were in was clean and he drove very safely. He also provided us snacks which was greatly appreciated. We thank our driver Babu for his service.Written 27 January 2025
- Voyager173095503760 contributionsSo glad that we booked this tour!We had a fantastic tour with Yosuke on our layover in Tokyo! We started at the Sensoji (Asakusa Kannon) Temple and he helped us to experience all of the different rituals. Next we drove through Ginza and around the Imperial Palace, then stopped for lunch at an incredible Ramen place. Yosuke was so helpful in finding somewhere that could accommodate our dietary restrictions, but still give us an authentic Japanese dining experience. (For me, that alone would have been worth hiring a guide instead of venturing out on our own!). We ended our trip at Shibuya Crossing and he gave us tips on how to get the best views. With limited time to see the city, we really appreciated Yosuke’s flexibility and willingness to adapt based on our interests and timing. He was so accommodating and patient, even when I (very confidently) told him the wrong airport pickup location and he had to track us down in another terminal! He truly went above and beyond to make sure our experience was excellent. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Japan - now I need to book a real trip back!Written 25 January 2025
- Suzy E0 contributionsProfessional, smart, insightfulUmi, our driver, she glides out of the car perfectly polished and with the most pleasant greeting. As she opens the door for you, she makes sure you don’t hit your head stepping into the car by covering her hand at the car frame. Mind you, this is in freezing cold temperatures and raining! All with a bright smile that I swear, sparkles. Her driving skills are clearly strong, and if asked, her suggestions are intuitively given. Frankly, I didn’t need any other help other than Umi. We’re off to other parts of Japan now and I wish our touring company hired her throughout our trip. I would indeed pay whatever the extra fee is to have her join us. My husband and I already miss having her as our driver. Thank you Umi!Written 19 January 2025
- hschlewing140 contributionsLife-Changing and Highly Recommended Tour!!If you enjoy history and culture, I highly recommend this tour. After partaking in one of Outech's other tours, Mt. Fuji, I decided to book another with my same guide, Riley (Ryoko). She's absolutely phenomenal, and I highly suggest you request her if she is available. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and can answer almost any question you throw at her. If she doesn't know something, she will seek out the answers from the various staff members and stewards at the various shrines and other locations. Her English is excellent, and she translated various conversations for me when talking with the staff at various craft shops. I highly suggest stopping by the craft shop located on the other side of the mountain where the Nikko Shrine sits. There's an insanely beautiful Buddhist temple nearby the store that we visited, and the owner's of the shop were so kind they even offered us tea. You can purchase a variety of intricate carvings and other artworks from them. I got a personalised plaque with my family name on it, and they carve it into the wood right in front of you. One of my favourite experiences! As for the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, it's incredibly beautiful. If you're bold enough to walk the two hundred steps up the mountain, you can witness one of Shogun Tokugawa's resting places: a small pagoda containing some of his remains. It's quite a mystical place, I must say. The inner sanctum of one of the shrines is absolutely gorgeous, and they provide guests with a brief tour explaining the acoustics of the building which amount to nothing less than magic. If you go during the winter, I suggest bringing thick socks as you have to remove your shoes before entering certain areas. By the end of the inner sanctum tour, I had almost no feeling in my toes, but I was fine afterwards! We also visited Kegon Falls, a beautiful display of natural wonder, especially in the winter. I do suggest dressing warm as it was quite frigid that time of year, but incredibly worth it. I highly recommend this tour if you're into cultural and natural beauty.Written 7 January 2025
- hschlewing140 contributionsLife-Changing and Highly Recommended Tour!!I took part in a solo, private tour with the Outech touring company and their guide, Riley (Ryoko). She was an absolute professional from pick-up to drop-off. I cannot recommend her enough for her courteousness, and cultural and historical expertise. If you choose to do the Mt. Fuji Tour, I would suggest avoiding weekends and national holidays as it can get crowded. On a Wednesday afternoon before Christmas, there was only about a hundred or so people in the area which is pretty good. I got lucky as the weather was beautiful, sunny, mostly cloudless, and not too cold. If you go in the winter, I suggest bringing warm clothes as the outside temperature will be around freezing at the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji. The weather around the mountain itself can be very tempermental, so picking the right day to go may be challenging. Once again, I got lucky as the volcano was fully exposed from almost every angle or place we stopped along the tour. It was absolutely awe-inspiring. Hakone is also beautiful, and known for it's bathhouses (onsens). The nearby Owakudani is fun to visit if you don't mind walking near an active volcano that reeks of sulphur. You get used to it after a few minutes. No lava, but a lot of steam spewing from the ground. Tours are available onsite to hike further up the volcano if you choose, but that's separate from the private tour. You can also partake in eating a hard-boiled egg cooked from the heat of the volcano itself, giving the eggshell it's famous "black" egg look. There are souvenir shops all over if you want to bring authentic, handmade Japanese crafts, such as chopsticks or a saki drink, set home with you. There are a lot of places to visit in Hakone, so I would discuss what your options are with your tour guide. It's much more relaxed than Toyko, and a very pleasant place to visit away from all the chaos in the city. I highly recommend this tour if you want a good mix of natural and cultural beauty.Written 7 January 2025
- 467harrisb0 contributionsTokyo in a DayOur Tokyo Layover Private Tour was incredible! We were originally booked for a 5-hour tour, but thanks to a change in our return flight, we were able to extend it to 7/8 hours. Even though we’re a well-traveled family from NYC, everyone we know who’s visited Tokyo recommended using a guide, and that was great advice. Tomoya (Sato) was our guide, and he was amazing. If we were on our own, we probably would have needed two full days to see what he showed us in just 8 hours. I highly recommend this tour, whether you have a layover or are your first day in Tokyo. It’s a great way to get a feel for a big city that has so much to offer.Written 4 January 2025
- Traveler626662662700 contributionsAmazing experience with Outech and Runa-san.Our driver today was Runa-san who was very friendly, on time, and did an amazing job. She was very helpful from the moment we arrived at the airport. She texted us to inform us where she would be waiting and how to identify her, and she greeted our family with a smile and such wonderful friendliness. She prepared wonderful and tasty snacks, provided our family with Evian bottled water, and most of all she surprised us with a birthday gift for one of our family members, which was such a wonderful surprise! Runa-san performed above and beyond, and her did an excellent job that is the high quality standard that Outech provides.Written 20 December 2024

Exceeded every expectation!Moe-san was our driver for one week on a very hectic business trip. She managed to work into our schedule a visit to an amazing tea shop and paid so much attention to every detail. She overheard me mention that it was my wife’s birthday and even bought her a gift! Every detail of our agenda was carefully thought out and flawlessly executed. I would recommend her as a driver and guide without hesitation for business or leisure.Written 31 October 2024

My family and I recently completed the Mt. Fuji tour, and it was an unforgettable experience! Masa and Yosuke were exceptional guides, providing us with insightful information and ensuring our safety throughout the trek.
The hike itself was challenging but incredibly rewarding, with stunning views and a profound sense of accomplishment when we reached the summit. Masa and Yosuke’s expertise and encouragement made the climb manageable and enjoyable.
We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the majesty of Mt. Fuji. It’s well worth the effort, and having such knowledgeable guides made the journey even more memorable.
Thank you, Masa and Yosuke, for a fantastic day!

Our Mount Fuji climb to the summit was an amazing experience. We did so with our three children (11, 14 & 16), whom were competitively trying to reach the summit in record time, although they were slightly held back by my mild altitude sickness that significantly slowed me down. That did not hold them back on the decent which we did in around 2hrs, almost jogging down the slopes!
Our guide Masa, was first class and this was one of three excursions that we did with him. Not only is he really knowledge, his English is perfect and he was able to Taylor our tours just for us and took us to some of his favourite local restaurants.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Masa and the Outech team!

Wow what a day! Roberto and Masa were amazing from pick up to drop off and everything in between. Cannot recommend enough!
For information for other travelers; We did pick up from Tokyo 5am, traveled to Fuji 5th station and hiked from there. We started hiking 7am and were back down to the station by 2.30pm. Then the journey back to Tokyo for drop off.
We did a private tour for a group of 6 and it was just seamless, safe, friendly and fun.

Favorite part of my experience was hiking Mount Fuji of course! Everything went fairly smooth from start to finish. I booked the tour weeks in advance. Had a mishap where I didn't know we had to leave out of Tokyo because that's where the company Outech is based out of. I made reservations at a hotel near Mount Fuji instead. Not a problem. My tour guide Masayuki Mogi has been nothing but friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He listed a few different tour day options and we were able to come to terms with what worked for me. With zero difficulty. We were able to drive down to my hotel the night before in a luxurious car. Stopped by the convenience store when we got there to pick up our sticks as requested. Got up bright and early the next morning to go on the tour. The weather was gorgeous leading up to the summit. Was able to stop at every single spot on the way up to get our sticks stamped. Saw some amazing views. Even a few people in the souvenir shop were impressed we were able to get all the stamps in the same day. I can only speak English. He was able to communicate with everyone for whatever was needed. Spoke English and Japanese very well. We had some food at the summit. I was very pleased with how this day went. Could not have asked for much more out of what this tour had to offer. Definitely going to look into more tours by Outech in the future. And now I can say that I have a souvenir / memories that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Thank you! If you're looking for a trip that will last forever too, look up Outech!

This was an awesome experience. The guide was very professional. He communicated with me in the weeks leading up to our trip. Telling us what to expect and recommendations on what to bring. He picked us at our hotel and had water and snacks for us. He even stopped at a convenience store on the way up so we were able to purchase more water and food for our trek. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Mt. Fuji. He was very accommodating to my groups needs. He allowed us to hike at our own pace. Never a sense of rushing trying to meet a milestone. When my 17 daughter came down with a slight case of altitude sickness he went out of his way trying to find some oxygen for us. Over all he imade our Mt. Fugi adventure worth wild. Highly recommended using this service.

One of the best experiences in my life!! We were unfit and never hiked before but was committed to getting to the summit, which with the support of our guides and some good weather, we managed to do it even if we couldn’t feel our legs afterwards. Our tour guides Riley and Ryu were very friendly and funny throughout the entire climb and wouldn’t have wished for anyone else. This is a must do if you want to challenge yourself and would recommend this to anyone who’s up for it. One of the best experiences ever 😁

Good pace, no unnecessary stops, straight up to the summit and down.
The only thing is we didn’t have enough water on the way down.

We had a wonderful experience climbing Mt. Fuji with our English speaking, experienced guides, Masa and Roberto. They were fun and helpful, and showed compassion and patience when helping my daughter with her altitude sickness. Masa had canned oxygen, allowing her to continue climbing. 10/10, recommend.

This was so awesome! Probably the highlight of my month long trip to Korea and Japan. For safety reasons, there were two guides, and both of them were stellar. They checked in a lot and were super helpful and answered all of my annoying and never ending questions.
