      A Pulgia Authentic cooking experience
My husband and I was greated by Simona in her rural and beautiful home from home, set in the Brindisi area. With the home being a typical Trulli. this made the cooking experience even more special. We were learning to make fresh pasta, sauce and a meat dish using Simona's herbs from her garden, home made chesse all out in the open air which added to the ambience. Not only did we learn how to make Orichietta but gained some history knowledge of how the Trulli houses came about. We will definately remeber the fun, the conversations and enthusiasm given from Simona as she made us feel very welcome to her culture.

This was a really great experience. Different from other cooking classes we've done as it was a larger group (approx. 13) but it worked well. Much of the time was spent making the Orecchiette pasta and practicing the technique, while Simona relayed the history of Puglia, regional pasta shapes and what sauces can and more importantly cannot be served together. The class location is at her farm, where she lives in a trullo house and she provided a great explanation of the significance and history of the traditional dwelling. Simona is a really down to earth, easy person and is a wealth of information.

We had an excellent day with Simona at her trullo. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of making pasta and hearing more about the history of the area. As a family of 4 (2 teenage boys) we were part of a group of 13, The food we prepared was delicious and the whole experience has given us a very happy holiday memory. We felt it was good value, a really fun experience and would definitely recommend (even the teenage boys really enjoyed it).

What a thoroughly enjoyable evening for the whole family (2 girls 16 + 14). Simona is a fantastically welcoming and enthusiastic host, with a passion for the heritage of Puglia and it’s culinary delights including the evening’s headliner, “le orecchiette”. She guides her guests (17 in total) through a very chilled evening at her home, in a beautiful rustic location, giving insight into local traditions. The time flew by as we prepared vegetables for our cold soup starter, then the component parts of the pasta sauces, before the highlight, the pasta making itself. After a tour of the trulli and it’s history, we then sat down together to eat the product of our labours, with a glass or two of local wine and conversation amongst those who were previously strangers. Great memories made!

We had the best day of our holidays sharing it with Simone and lots of lovely people from all over the world! We made some amazing dishes and learned about local culture and history. This was such amazing value we spent most of the day learning, chatting and relaxing in such a fun way. We loved it so much we booked our friends on and they loved it too!

This was a highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy/Sicily for sure! Simone was informative about everything, from showing us her historic trullo to tell us details about cooking all sorts of Italian dishes. Her mama participated too and was a delight to have helping us learn how to make orecchiette. I would highly recommend this class as an afternoon of learning and entertainment to get the full experience of Puglia!

If you enjoy cooking and love to learn about the Puglian culture….not to mention, eating a delicious 3 course meal with beverages, this is an experience not to miss. Simona and her wonderful Italian mum gave us a fantastic lesson in making pasta and forming the orecchiette unique to this area. The company was great, as everyone was engaged. Simona’s knowledge of the Puglian region was fascinating, especially as we got to tour her wonderful trullo home. I highly recommend this experience.

We were so grateful to have such an authentic cooking experience with Simona, and the help of Anna Maria. Invited into Simona’s home, you get a wonderful insight into an Italian home and kitchen. The class itself was interesting, very informative and we left well fed and educated. Simona is very kind and welcoming. Being in a legitimate trullo, cooking orecchiette and sampling so many other elements of local cuisine was a great addition to our time in Puglia. We felt particularly special once Simona learned it was our honeymoon and that this was a chance for me to connect with my Italian heritage as my Nonno was from the neighbouring town.

A wonderful cooking class that I can recommend highly. Simona shares a lot about Puglia's History and it's food and welcomes you in her home. The pasta dishes and different varieties were really fun to make and tasted wonderful with ingredients from her garden and products she sources locally. There is a story to every ingredient and she puts everything into the context of Puglia's History. Thanks a lot for a wonderful day!

What an experience!!! Simona the property owner could not do better to create a very pleasant atmosphere and make this activity unforgettable. This is not just a cooking class but an incursion into local culture. The place is beautiful simple and peaceful and perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the area, simona teaches us to make the famous and delicious orrechiete without forgetting to pass on to us all her knowledge about local and Italian culture both culinary and historical and architectural. The discovery of his trullo and his explanations on this very particular architecture was rich in lessons.
In short, do not hesitate, the experience is worth living.
Many thanks to simona and her friend whose name I forgot (sorry for that )
for their hospitality and kindness. We will never forget that moment.

This cooking class was awesome. Simona truly loves what she is doing. She is really passionate about it. We could tell that she enjoyed it together with us.
The fact that this class took place on a farm was even more interesting. We were shown a Trulli house (house with a cone shaped roof made of stones) that you can find only in Puglia.
