About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- O281DUbrianc0 contributionsExcellent tour and guideWhat an incredible tour! Our guide Sam Pho was fantastic; he gave us the story and context behind everything we visited, and showed us great spots to take photos. Even for the sunrise Ankor Wat, he took us to a spot that was away from the massive crowds, so it was much more enjoyable and just as stunning. My fiance and I are very curious people, and Sam was able to answer every question we threw at him. Next level depth questions about the kings, religions, and history not only of Ankor Wat and surrounding temples, but of Cambodia’s recent history as well. Highly recommend this tour, and Sam specifically!Written 28 November 2024
- leesO5923QZ0 contributionsSuper two days Angkor Wat and temples tour with fantastic guide SamSam was recommended to us by a couple weeks met in a bar in Hoi An. I'm really glad we followed up on their suggestion as we had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative two day tour of the temples near Siem Reap. Sam Pho's itinerary covered a fascinating range of temples and started with an amazing experience watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the atmosphere was wonderful. At all the places we visited Sam told us so much interesting information about the Hindu and Buddhist deities as well as the kings who built the temples. On a practical note we had great communication in advance of the tour, Sam was on time and drove us in comfort (and a/c!) in his comfortable car. His English is excellent and the ready supply of cold water and ice cold towels really made us comfortable. The two days tour was great value considering the fabulous service we had from Sam. I would hesitate to recommend him.Written 25 November 2024
- 144alpeshk0 contributionsOur 4 days with SamSam was recommended by one of our friends. His service is absolutely wonderful. He understands client needs and moulds the itinerary accordingly. Very flexible with no ego or attitude. I will 110% recommend him. Very knowledgeable with the history of Ankor temples as well as other locations.Written 17 November 2024
- N1002FWbelindaw0 contributionsExperience of a LifetimeMy husband and I had an absolutely fantastic experience with our wonderful guide Sam Pho and our lovely driver Mr Tata. Sam is so knowledgable, doesn’t rush you, knows the best spots for photos and also took amazing photos of us! His historical and knowledge of the myths about the sites made places really come alive! Angkor Wat is also not crowded like the rest of the world’s prime tourist destinations, so now is the time to go! Everyone like Sam and Mr Tata took amazing care of us and made sure we had a superb time.Written 4 November 2024
- Stay667228055360 contributionsGreat guided TourWe took this tour on October 13 & 14/24, our tour guide was Sam. He picked us up @ 5 am & took us to ticket office to buy our 3 day pass. The whole tour was amazing, Sam was great. He had always water & cold towels on hand. It was almost too hot & humid for us, but he took great care of the 4 of us. Highly recommend this tour, we’ve would not know where to start, so thankful Sam was with us.Written 29 October 2024
- Sightseer114194374550 contributionsExceptional Guide for Every TravelerI've known Sam for over a decade—he was my guide during my first visit to Cambodia in 2010 and has been my go-to guide for every trip since. As a photographer, I'm always on the lookout for unique locations, and Sam has a keen understanding of what makes a place extraordinary. He never fails to recommend sites beyond the usual tourist path, helping me capture some incredible shots. Every trip Sam organizes is thoughtfully paced and well-planned. This year, I returned with my family, and Sam tailored the itinerary perfectly for a more relaxed pace, which made it enjoyable for everyone. Whether you're traveling solo or with family, I can’t recommend Sam highly enough. If you're heading to Cambodia, reach out to him for an unforgettable experience. - Eriglezv0 contributionsFantastic guide and driver inclusive tourGreatly knowledgeable and practical guide. Highly recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. We had three amazing days in Siem Reap. We also recommend this service as it is very professional and accommodating to your preferences and needs.Written 16 October 2024
- Swigchow0 contributionsEnriching cultural educationWe just had the pleasure of the outstanding guidance of Mr. Sok Chea for two day Angkor Wat tour. Mr. Sok provided amazing insight into the culture, the history, and the people of Cambodia. He provided incredibly detailed knowledge of Angkor Wat and many of the other temples from artistic and historical perspective. We highly recommend him as your personal guide and we will use him again upon our return. Our driver Mr Tah was safe and careful. He always had ice cold water and icy towels ready for us upon return to the car. (These were a godsend after walking through the ruins in the high heat and humidity!!) We give these two gentlemen our highest recommendation. You will come away with an enriched education, and experience the warmth and kindness of the Cambodian people.Written 14 October 2024

- jbmullen0 contributionsFantastic experience in Angkor Wat.This tour, lead by John, was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. It was my husband and my first visit to Siem Reap and we were charmed. The temples were spectacular and John knew how to plan the visits to the various sites so we had less crowds. He was able to help us understand the Cambodian history, and other fun facts, and spoke very good English. He was prompt at pick up at our hotel. He was both the driver and the guide, so we never had to wait. It was hot, but we always had cold water and towels, and an SUV with good air conditioning. John also was flexible when we needed down time, or a special souvenir. I would highly recommend John and this tour.Written 19 May 2024

Our group was picked up at 5 o’clock as agreed and greeted by the enthusiasic guide Mr Bunna at our hotel. He reminded us of the dress code at the hotel, and one of us fortunately could change clothes to acceptable ones already at the hotel. We were taken to the ticket Office to buy temple passes and then took off to see the sun rise over Anfkor Wat. Here the bonus of an experienced guide who knew the place was unpayable. Mr Bunna took us to a perfect spot where we could see not only the sunrise But also all the colour shiftings in the sky and relextions in the water slowly but surely grow in front of us as a theatre play.
Amazing! The whole day was fantastic, our guide very knowledgeable and informative.
We are all so happy for this day, Many thanks from us!🙏🏼

Rany and our driver picked us up at our hotel at 5am for the sunrise tour of Angkor Wat. Rany knew which line at the ticket office would be the fastest (and he was right). He seemed to know the best walking path (no waiting - even on CNY weekend), and was able to rearrange our schedule on-the-fly based on feedback from other guides and where they experienced traffic.
Rany shared a tremendous amount of information at each of the temples (Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom (Bayon), and Banteay Srei), Cambodian culture and history.
His English was very clear and deliberate, and he was able to adjust/ explain any time we had questions.
They also secured breakfast, lunch, and restroom stops that were clean and quality.
Very difficult to imagine seeing these temples at any depth without some like Rany, and this outfit!

We visited the Angkor Wat Temple area in early April when they first opened Cambodia back up to tourists. We went to the ticket booth to buy our 3-day pass and were fortunate to find Nengbunrong finishing up a tour with a German tourist. I asked the tourist how he liked him and he said he was fantastic. We decided to hire Boon (for short) for the next 3 days. Fast forward – we created a deep friendship with him and found him not only extremely knowledgeable about every temple in the area but a kind and generous human being. He communicated in English perfectly. He would freely teach you any Khmer words you wanted to learn. He would help you order food correctly and in safe sanitary places. He was a complete delight to be with and we highly recommend his services for any of your Siam Reap needs. You will have Zero regrets hiring him and his prices are extremely reasonable. You can watch our YouTube videos guided by him by searching for Spontaneous 2day on Youtube.

Mr Sok Chea was our guide along with Nara driver. The tour is very well organised covering 3 main temples Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta prom in the Angkor complex and another Bantei Srei about 30 kms from the city. Mr Sok Chea is a very knowledgeable guide and also a skilled photographer who not only enlightened us with the history of the temples and Khmer empire but also took fantastic family photos at the same time. We were travelling with young kids and Mr. Sok was quite good with our kids, keeping them entertained. Mr. Sok also recommended a very reasonably priced souvenir shop where we bought gifts for family. Overall, this is a great tour, very well organised and covers a lot of ground in a day. I will highly recommend Mr. Sok and this tour.

I have to divide this review into two part. The first part is the pre-tour (booking & all communications related to preparation, before the tour delivery. And the second part is the Tour Delivery.
The Tour Delivery (part 2) was a positive experience. Our tour guide, Mr Han, the driver Mr Muoy are excellent and reliable people. Both of them speak sufficiently good English to support their respective roles. Mr. Han is knowledgeable to explain the history, culture, even knowing the right spots to recommend us to take photos. We may miss some objects on the way, but these were more because we enjoyed to spend more time in some places (such as taking photos or resting to drink or shop). The two days were well spent. We also have a good functioning SUV with good aircondition (which is very important in this humid and hot climate). Continuous supply of cold water and cold tower by Mr Muoy also help a lot. Both, Mr Han (the tour guide) and Mr Muoy (the driver) were very puncual and reliable, so there were no time lost during the two days tour (total 19 hours). If I end the review here, I shall give 5 points.
Pre-tour period (Part one)
We had some issue here which makes us to give 4 points in tgis review. Things for improvement for the company, as well as for anticipation for nterested customers. The pace of communications were mostly slow, with email only respinded after two or three days and Whatsapp texts responded after hours. These were not an issue in the beginning (as we decided to book their tour few months in advance). However, close to the D-date, it became annoying. Particularly one day prior to the tour, I received a suggestion to change the itinerary. The reason was that on 21st March (supposed to be the equinox day, the main reason why we were here in Angkor) Angkor would be closed because of two reasons. First, the King will have a visit to Angkor Wat. (Obviously something beyond their capability to plan, but short WA text notice and lack of interactive WA response are insufficient, even upsetting. The second reason why Angkor would be closed for a visit was because this day was a Buddhist ceremony day in Ankor Wat (This shall be known already by an experienced tour operator to be communicated long in advance to us). However, after a phone call from my part, we managed to find a compromising resolution. With these, we would remind interesting customers to be aware of this slow communications.

This tour was so well organised and informative
encyclopaedic knowledge of all the ancient history up to modern history of this unique sacred area.
The driver and guide were attentive, punctual and cater for absolutely all needs so thoroughly. This is the easiest and most comfortable way to see this large area. not exy for those keeping a budget.
So glad I was able to do this tour.
Couldn’t have done it without professionals to anticipate and ease the difficulties I would not have overcome otherwise.
many thanks

Sam was an exquisite, professional, and knowledgeable guide. I contacted him with my available time, and he quickly designed a personalized itinerary to make the most of our time. He was prompt, courteous, and gave a phenomenal tour. No matter how many people were in the area, he always took us to the right place at the right time - his experience is evident. He gives a great history and context of all the sights, no matter your background knowledge. If you’re into photography, he knows where all of the good spots are. He is a great guide and an even greater advocate and representative for the rich cultural history of his country. Visit Cambodia. Visit Siem Reap. Visit Angkor Wat. Hire Sam!

Hello is the price listed simply per group or is it per person in the group? I have about 9 people in my group and wanted to know if the TripAdvisor price is meant to be first each person? It says it’d be about $130 total after inputting the amount of people at checkout.
Written 27 September 2023
The $130 was the total for the guide and van, but I imagine with that many people they might need two vans. There is also admission of $37 per person that needs to be paid to access the temples that isn’t included in that price

Hi, my husband and I did this tour, just the two of us, and we paid $130. We booked the tour through Viator, and I remember that it was $130 for the entire tour, regardless of the number of people.

Hi would like to book this for my parents. However my father walks with a stick and has back pain. Can the tour be catered for less able walkers. We understand he might miss highlights. Also I wondered if it could be broken over two days As a full 8 hours might be too much.

Four adults.. I guess it depends on how many days you’d like and what you want to see. I’d say about 75 a day plus a driver. You’ll have to purchase a pass for Angkor Wat, it’s a government thing. It’s HUGE area and a lot to see so take that into consideration. There are also many other areas outside that. I saw some as part of my tour at my request.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
