About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 18archiew0 contributionsGood funStaff were great, sand dunes were steep, falling off the board hurt (just a little). Scenery was pretty spectacular. Overall good fun and recommended for something different to do on an afternoon.Written 4 December 2022
- Lainelyse4430 contributionsGreat experience for the young at heartAmazing experience for all levels of fitness. Dunes were spectacular. Staff were helpful and friendly.Written 19 October 2022
- 05rellen0 contributionsFab experienceGreat tour into the dunes for sunset photos. Anna, Andrew and their staff were very friendly, accommodating and informative. Local family run company that travels the furtherest into the dune area.Written 4 June 2022
- Simon M0 contributionsDisgusting behaviour by Operator toward staffShame I can't give zero for the behaviour and lack of professionalism from a staff member with nametag 'Andrew' who appears to be the owner! While waiting to discuss a booking we witnessed him swear at, threaten to throw things at, and generally abuse a young staff member in front of large crowds of Easter holiday goers. Disgusting behaviour and no way to treat others. He then had a second attempt at belittling her in front of his next group of paying customers. Do yourself a favour and go with one of the other operators for a sandboarding trip and don't support this so called 'friendly' family run businessWritten 17 April 2022
- moniquepE8163EG0 contributionsAwesomeAbsolutely loved the sand boarding with my family of 5 and especially liked being able to stand up on the boards and stay as long as we liked. It would have been nice if the young instructors were more interactive with their instructions and maybe giving some tips throughout the day. Will definitely come back again.Written 25 January 2022
- Bruce J0 contributionsLots of funFriendly team and great experience. They also sold water at $1 per bottle which was well appreciated. We had already brought a bottle each with us but ended up needing 2. I would recommend that people try it. Also this group offered standup boards as well as sit down ones. They also had plenty of vehicles ferrying people from the car park to the site which was good. On the flip side, the effort required to climb back up the hill is significant and it would be great if they were able to ferry people back up somehow. Also, when a Chinese lady had her 3? year old son video her from the bottom, because she could not stop and the kid did not get out of the way, she hit him. The staff were unaware until I told them and then whilst they had a first aid kit were not knowledgeable on what to do and also had great difficulty in assisting her. She could not easily get her kid back to the top and he had had his mum run the board straight into his shins..Written 21 January 2022

- suzanned6830 contributionsWonderful...must do activityA really fun way to experience the incredible Worimi lands...Sand Dunes Safaris really makes it very easy and you are well looked after by the drivers, instructors and check in staff. Recommend getting there early for 9am kick off to get a good session in before it gets too hot in the middle of the day in the summer months. Our teen boys loved it but my husband and I also had fine sliding and laughing. Definitely want to do it all againWritten 14 January 2021
- Joshinbari0 contributionsGreat Sand Duning Experience!Great experience! Friendly staff and a lot of fun. Flexible with timing - you can stay at the dunes for as long as you want. Shade and chairs provided.Written 8 January 2021

Great experience although the weather wasn't the best.
We booked the 9am session and we were the only guests. They drove us to the sand dune and gave us instructions about how to do both sit and stand up sandboarding.
All the staffs are friendly and considerate. Some are very knowledgeable and told us history about the sand dune formation.
The shelter helped a lot under the rain. It would be very useful for sunny days too. Sandboarding is easier than i expected. However, it can be rather speedy.
There are places for us to put our belongings. However, i suggest not bringing anything except your phone or camera for photos. Maybe a jacket although it might looks warm or sunny when you are heading to the sand dune. Weather is unpredictable and could be unstable. Watches or bracelets shouldn't be wore as well. For hats, they are good to protect us from the sun but while the wind was too strong, I didn't wear mine at last. There are bottle water in sales of $1. It is very reasonable. No toilets once you left the meeting point so it is better to go before heading to sandboarding. Booking is easy and i got a warm reminder one day befor. I am glad to have chose Sand Dune Safaris for sandboarding.

Easy and accommodating when we were late. The activity was fun going down and got the heart rate up walking back up the sand. Water is sold at top for $1 cash and there's tables and chairs. Bus pick up every 10-15 mins back to base.

This was the absolute highlight of our girls weekend away. We had so much fun. The staff absolutely made the experience even better! Our 4wd driver was chatty and cheerful and our instructor, Charlie was awesome…he went above and beyond. Not only was he very informative and super friendly but also got us water while we were on the dunes..nothing was too much trouble for him. Can’t wait to go again!

4 Adults & 6 teens had a blast with Sand Dune Safaris. We spent a super fun morning surfing the dunes. We particularly loved being able to try different boards, especially the faster ones with wax. The team were friendly, well organised & gave clear instructions & the shuttle & close parking was excellent. Highly recommend as a fun holiday outing in one of the early timeslots!
