If you are looking or thinking of booking a traditional, authentic small outdoor cooking class, then look no further. What an amazing 4.5hrs. Tom & Lynne run the class it’s very interesting and structured. You start with an introduction from Tom and kitten, then a tour around the amazing garden and pick fresh home grown herbs again chaperoned by kitten, she is adorable, a little ball of fluff. You get to smell all the different types of herbs that later you use for your dishes. We cooked 3 beautiful dishes from start to finish, with the help and guidance of Lynne who is a very talented lady, Michelin star quality. She explains and tells you all about the ingredients you are using. Our favorite dish was the Penang curry. You cook outside over wood, the views are breathtaking and the smells and noises are actually quite romantic we heard the elephants from the sanctuary next door. Water is provided and you can also purchase beers and imported wines by the glass or bottle from Tom. The class is a small class of 8. We all ate together which was nice. Be warned the portions are huge, however you are able to take away. This cooking class is now at the top of my favorites. The products you cook with a a very high quality and most are home grown.

A beautiful and unforgettable experience! Tom and Lin are great hosts, friendly and professional. We learnt to cook traditional and delicious Thai recipes and to use herbs and spices from the garden. Their beautiful house offers a gorgeous view on the valley below and Ko Phan Megan in the distance. The dinner was a great moment - we talked a lot, shared a lot and had a lot of fun! Definitely recommended!

What a unique experience, we cannot thank Tom and his family enough for an amazing day. The setting in the jungle was beautiful, learning to cook the food with the ingredients fresh from the garden made it extra fun.

We visited here with our 3 children, aged 10, 12 and 14 for a private half-day cooking course. The setting is magical and we got the opportunity to pick fresh ingredients for our meal. Nothing was too much trouble for Tom and Lin, they were very attentive and it was such a joy to learn from Lin's cooking experience. It is, by far, the best Thai food we have eaten and we made it (with a lot of help from Lin). Definitely worth visiting if you are in Koh Samui (with or without children) Thank you Tom and Lin!!!

I joined two wonderful ladies from Hong Kong for a private cooking class with Tom and Lin. This was one of the best experiences of any trip I have taken anywhere so far! They were amazing hosts who transported us to and from our hotels and started our adventure with a welcome drink on arrival and a tour of the gardens and beautiful jungle that the kitchen is hidden in. We picked fresh herbs we would use in the cooking and then entered the amazing kitchen where all of the magic would happen. The cooking was hands-on, well instructed with demonstrations and fun banter as we prepared and cooked several dishes that came together as a 5 star meal. The entire time I was there, I was thinking of so many friends and family that I wanted to come have this experience as well! The food was fresh and so delicious! This is a place that I will return and bring others. This is a special experience that need to be on everyone's bucket list! Thank you Tom and Lin for this outstanding experience!

Thanks to Linn and Tom we had a wonderful afternoon at Chill Hiil. We cooked delicious food, pad Thai, fish in curry sauce on my demand and lovely sticky rice with mango😊 I highly recommend this cooking class, don’t hesitate book it you won’t regret it!

We had a private cooking experience for our group of 4. Fabulous experience. Great kitchen in a wild jungle heaven place. Both Tom and Lin are great hosts, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable in Thai cuisine. I recommend it without any hesitation. Take care Lin and Tom, enjoy the Chinon :)

What a great experience we had ! Charles and Lin are great hosts and the cooking class was great. The garden is amazing and full of fresh fruits, vegetables and plants. The kitchen is nicely decorated and its view on the garden is perfect. We cooked about 3 dishes including a green curry, tomyam soup and noodles. it was a lot of food so we took the left over away ! We really appreciated cooking in a small group (we were 4 people). The chef was totally dedicated to us and it was like having a private cooking class. At the end of the day, We had the chance to go to the view point next to the garden to enjoy the sunset. You shouldn’t hesitate to go to the class!

A MUST middle in the island’s jungle ! Tom and Lin : Tom , so kind and friendly, Lin, generous, smiling, a great cook and teacher ! Garden discovery and picking some spices , leaves, vegetables and fruits, and then learn how to prepare, mix and cook the ingredients to make a great fine and tasty meal . Everything in a friendly, joking atmosphere, all just happy to be there and share a special time ! Would love to renew the experience for a few days , learn more and appreciate these two wonderful persons and environment!

We had a wonderful time with Tom & Lin. We were a family of five - with grumpy teens, no less - and had a superb gastronomic experience. We cooked our hearts out under the awesome tutelage of Lin (an experienced chef), whilst Tom proffered cold beers to whoever wanted and merrily chatted about all and sundry. We came away replete, happy and wanting to tell others to go explore and enjoy this master class in Thai cooking. The setting is excellent too: in the middle of the jungle, on the edge of a durian orchard overlooking a botanical garden that features anything exotic really - from pepper and passion fruit vines to papaya trees and galangal plants. The dinner we prepared in the kitchen (which was really well set up) was delicious. Thoroughly recommended. An undiscovered gem of an activity.

Went to the best cooking class ever!!! The location was in the jungle!!! Gorgeous!!! We started by getting picked up at our door by Tom who took us into the jungle experience!!! We arrived to a delish welcoming drink made by Lynn... she then took us through the garden to pick fresh herbs and veggies... then the magic began!!! We were listening to nostalgic music to go back in time so it matched the cooking which was original Thai style cooking!!! Lynn was an expert on cooking and she was a delight!!! Omg what we made was out of this world delish!!! I give this experience a 10 star and I highly recommend it!!! Thank you Lynn and Tom for an amazing lunch!!!

The afternoon starts with a lovely drive into the Samui mountains to Chilling Hill with views over jungle to the sea. We toured a organic garden under Tamarind and Avocado trees and learned how to cook rustic Thai dishes from scratch. Green curry, wing bean salad and pumpkin and coconut pudding. Lovely Lyn shared her knowledge with passion while Tom entertained us. Well set up for small groups and a total hands on experience. Highly recommended

I am so glad we visited Tamarind Tree Cooking School on Koh Samui. This is more than a cooking lesson, it’s an experience not to be missed. The road to the jungle kitchen is stunning and taken in the very necessary 4x4. Buffalo, rainforest and stunning views are all part of journey! The jungle kitchen is situated on ‘Chilling Hill’ where there is also a Jungle Bar, a viewing point and a waterfall. A great place to spend time. Learning to cook with Lin was fantastic. The food is exceptional and I learned so much. Lin and Tom are the perfect hosts and their kitchen has been beautifully designed. It’s a relatively new business and one that will clearly be a huge success. I am very pleased to have been able to come here and can’t recommend it enough. It’s worth every penny ☺️
