About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Natalie303a0 contributionsGreat experience! We did the whole day speedboat trip to Ang Thong National Park as a family of 4 with 2 teenage sons (13 &15) The trip was very well organised the crew were fab and made sure we had everything we need and plenty of refreshments on the boat. We stopped for some snorkelling and saw an amazing array of wildlife over the coral reef. When we got the the National park its stunning and clean facilities. We opted to climb the 500 meters to the viewpoint, it was hard! But worth it as the views were breathtaking. When we got the the top one of the boat crew had got up their first with water for all of us! There was an options to kayak here if you didn’t want to climb, my husband and eldest son managed to do both. We then visited a smaller island where we met Hornbills and had a delicious lunch and drinks. We then visited what they call the Blue lagoon, we opted to lay in the shade and enjoy the views. An hour speed back to port and our day was done. Wonderful crew and experience.Written 5 April 2024
- Ourarka0 contributionsIt’s ok, but it’s a long way and I’m not sure it’s worth it.I was a little disappointed by this trip - whilst all went to plan with no hitches, there isn’t much to get excited about other than the beauty of Koh Nangyuan (if you can look past the tourists swarming all over it!) and our guides weren’t particularly charismatic and didn’t have much interest in answering any queries at all. Snorkelling was very average, lunch was ok but not great and the boat trip there and back takes a long time and there was a very little room as our boat was jam packed. You are below deck so can’t see much so the hour and a half journey goes by very slowly! If you know what to expect and are happy with the setup then it’s a decent day, but don’t go just for the snorkelling ……. you’ll be disappointed.Written 3 February 2024
- Harry T0 contributionsGreat tourVery nice tour with 3 snorkeling stops, organization is pretty good and the lunch was goood too. I’ll use them again for my next tripsWritten 12 September 2023

- Stay650169142810 contributionsBoats not great, no visibility while touring.Booked a trip to Angthong Marine Park, we cruised in a High Speed Boat. It took about 1 Hour to get to the First stop for snorkeling. There were 4 - 5 boats tied together and lot of people. Viewing was average at best. Then 45 - 50 minutes to next stop. The reason for the low rating is because although you’re cruising through amazing islands, you’re doing it in a boat that has seats so low in the boat you can’t see out and enjoy the view. It felt like we spent 3- 4 hours boating from place to place with nothing to look at. The other guests I spoke to felt the same. It was exhausting travelling in the boat. There must be a better way. The boat ruined the trip. All the boats are the same. Look at the pictures and you’ll understand. Too bad it could have been great.Written 16 April 2023
- lizzieg7010 contributionsNice day but with poor consideration for the environmentThe staff were very friendly and the trip was great. Lunch was also a good standard. The thing that let the day down was the vast overuse use of plastic bottles. Some of the coral is clearly suffering (as we could see from the snorkelling). Trip organisers like this must take responsibility for not contributing to this. One of the islands (Koh Nangyuan) we visited bans plastic bottles, so the staff were telling us to hide them and leave them on the boats. This felt like an uncomfortable irony. Surely filtered water bucket/dispenser is just as easy and so much better for the planet.Written 27 January 2023
- SarsnRob0 contributionsAmazing day visiting tropical islands and crystal clear watersThis trip is a wonderful way to see the gorgeous tropical islands. The trip is quite long (90 mins) on a fast speedboat but we were lucky and got a seat upfront and the weather was very calm so no choppy seas. First stop Koh Toa for snorkelling in two locations off the boat. Very safe and enjoyable and my teens who were not keen to do it, happily got it with us and saw the fish. Next stop is lunch at a low key/back packer resort. Good basicThai food and a chance to walk along the white sandy beach and. Final stop was Koh Nangyuan which was heaven! The whitest sand, crystal clear waters and a really cool little bar for snacks and drinks. We also snorkelled here off the beach and had a couple of hours to relax and enjoy this special island. We all really enjoyed this trip. It’s a long day but so well worth it. Insea Speedboat staff were lovely and helpful and the boats large, taking about 35 people, but did not feel overly full or squashed. Highly recommend this very memorable trip if you are on Koh Samui.Written 14 August 2022
- SuZ2900 contributionsGood overall but bad environmental controlWe booked a day trip with Insea to AngThung National Park. They were on schedule and did allow sufficient time for each island. The staff were all very helpful and kind too. However, one thing we did not appreciate was the lack of environmental awareness and how as a travel company, Insea didnt make an effort to educate the visitors or take responsibility for their actions towards nature preservation. For example: Not asking the visitors to not step on the coral reefs while snorkeling, and when called out to the guide, he just ignored and denied there were people stepping on the coral reefs; Or not recycling their plastic water bottles/drink cans on board the ship (it was mixed with other rubbish together in one big waste bin); Also using disposable plastic cups at breakfast when they are on an island and should not be generating more waste than they can handle.Written 7 August 2022
- S-Wuzui0 contributionsCrammed boatThe boat was crammed. I was next to shirtless smelly guy and girls with very little clothes. The places they stop are nice.Written 10 June 2022
- StephenB8980 contributionsNature really is wonderfulThe best thing was experiencing some of the beauty that Thailand has on offer. The marine park is a wonderful sight to behold. In addition the snokelling and the island stops to climb to the lookouts was fantastic and gives you a better view of what is out there. The only criticism is that the view from the interior of the boat is quite imited given the higher side walls of the boat. This means that the only view is out the back or up the very front but space is limited up there. If you could sit in your seat and see the other islands as you speed along it would make the experience much much better. I cannot fault anything else. The crew were very helpful, polite and addressed every request.Written 22 May 2022
- davidpC3349KE0 contributionsAmazing trip, organised, good value, safe and suitable for allA very well organised trip. Not too many people. Reasonable price. The food at lunch time was buffet and very good. The tour guide called Mario was a nice guy. They went round and took photos and then later sent a link, most companies would charge for this. I cant say one bad thing about this tour. A really good trip.Written 2 January 2021
- Clive G0 contributionsFantastic tripBooked a day's excursions to Ko Tao island and other islands with this company. What a great bunch of lads, they looked after us really well. Plenty of drinking water available during the boat trips. experienced some amazing snorkeling, took us for a Thai lunch was was amazing. Overall a great day outWritten 7 April 2020
- chomsom20200 contributionsBrilliant day outgroup of four 2 adults 2 children age 12 & 9. We really enjoyed our trip with insea to Angthong National Marine Park. The staff on our trip were brilliant so helpful and kind. We were picked up from our hotel in lamai and taken to bangrak beach where we could have coffee and toast before we left at 9am. We headed off to koh wao to do some snorkeling which was grate fun. Angthong National Marine Park had some amazing views one being the emerald green lake . We stopped of at a lovely beach with lots of swings in the trees and a lovely area to take a dip in the sea. Lunch time we arrived at koh paluay to a lovely meal, we were also really lucky to spot a hornbill bird. Back on the boat to song pee nong beach to kayak round the beach I loved this part. The trip back was a bit bumpy but with a good team we really enjoyed it. Oh and all the way through the trip we were offered water bottles and Pepsi and fresh fruits on the way back. Well recommended this trip thanks 🙏Written 24 February 2020

- TanyaGS0 contributionsFind someone elseUnless you want a racist tour guide named Jack Sparrow on a boat crammed with 40+ other people with barely any room to move, and a bland meal for lunch, stay away from this company! We booked a day tour to Ang Thong with InSea based on the reviews on Viator, and really wish we had waited to get to our hotel & ask the staff/locals for recommendations. InSea gave us tea/coffee and TOAST for ‘light breakfast’ in very unappealing and questionable surroundings. I am not even sure what the money they took was for because all they do is drop you at 4 different places and you explore on your own. Jack Sparrow had a really terrible sense of humor, kept calling people names, and at one point tricked a customer to get on a Long tail boat, instead of the tour speedboat, and then mocked him and said “goodbye”. The tour says it includes water and soda, and they really did have a cooler full of soda on the boat that they were offering people along with the water. I opted for the water on the boat. Then we stopped for the included lunch and I asked for a soda but apparently that was extra! Why not just let people know that drinks won’t be included with lunch so people can just take drinks from the boat? Also, once you finish your lunch, they will push you to buy souvenirs from the vendors at the island. We are all for supporting local economy, but when someone is constantly pushing you and calling you names, would you want to buy anything? I am not sure how this company is still in business given their high prices and below average quality. Look at some of the other options even if you had to pay slightly more, or you might find similar prices but better quality. Ang Thong park is really beautiful, but make sure you find the right tour operator to go with. In Sea also has another tour guide named Joe who is pretty good and funny.Written 16 February 2020

Insea drove their speed boats way too fast for the water conditions. We were being bounced around like ping pong balls. No consideration for passenger safety. A speedboat ride should not be physically painful.
Not for the elderly. Not for pregnant women. Not for young children.
We were packed like sardines, over loaded with more than the boat was licensed to hold. I didn’t realize this until we were already loaded and found the crew standing or sitting in the floor. A good 25% of those on board were seasick and vomiting on the floor.
Can’t throw up overboard because the boat was going too fast. Have to sit or hang on for dear life.
This is my memory from koh Samui, sadly.

The logistics were well organized with hotel pick up/drop off and left from their private pier where there were clear instructions provided and colored wristbands given to customers to differentiate the various tours going out to different places. The light breakfast was toast and coffee/tea. Also provided Dramamine tablets for motion sickness. The staff spoke English well and were friendly and helpful keeping a close eye on customers and providing detailed guidance. Water and Pepsi was available on the boat. However the snorkeling stop was not impressive - very few fish at the site chosen so this was disappointing. There was not enough time at the Ang Thong national park - it was beautiful place but seemed rushed if you wanted to hike to the viewpoint (challenging and steep) which takes about one hour so limited time left to relax on beach or kayak. The Emerald Lagoon was beautiful - a shorter but still steep hike up. The itinerary stop at a different island for lunch was cut to only 30 minutes with no time for kayak or beach as was advertised. The boat was decent size and fully booked. The island views from the water make a nice boat ride for the day.

Dear Wanderer39816
Thanks for your review. Depending on the seas conditions and weather, on some days there is not enough time for the kayaking session, we are really sorry for that. It is very hard to find the perfect itinerary for all kind of travellers, as there are also many who are not so active and need more beach time.

Great speed boat crew who looked after us very well and even changed itinerary so we had a smoother return journey.
Weather was good on the day but as it had been rainy for 2 days beforehand, lots of people had been re-booked so it made the water in the snorkelling bay a bit murky with so many boats moored there. Islands were beautiful and the last one where we had a delicious hot lunch in their restaurant, even had a flock of toucans outside!

Dear Jh43
Thanks for the awesome review! We're glad to hear you had a great time aboard our speedboat with our attentive crew. They always go the extra mile to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, and their flexibility in adjusting the itinerary is truly appreciated!
While the snorkeling visibility wasn't ideal due to recent weather, we're happy you still found the islands beautiful and enjoyed the delicious lunch with a special feathered guest list! ️
We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back for another fantastic adventure soon!

Cause of the confusion at the pier I got on the wrong boat - but same excursion.
Nobody checked on me at the departure so it was told me once already at the snorkeling point. The leader guide was unfriendly, a lot of sense of humor disguising aggressivity and unprofessionalism. He was continuing to shout me that was my fault when I was trying to figure about the situation. I felt completely unsafe and treated disrespectfully. The itirenary is amazing but this guy ruined my mood and my day - even if I moved into the right boat later.
Moreover no best practices were shared about the snorkeling in a place where there are many fragile and healthy corals to protect. Very disappointing. Not informative and no clear explanations.

Thanks for your message. I am very sorry to hear about your experience with one of our guides and will definitely check with our boat team what happened on that day. Before the trip departs from the pier we always inform about the dos and don't s in the National Park which is a protected area.

I would give this trip a 6/10. Firstly because most of the time of this trip was spend on the boat where you were not able to lay in the sun just sit inside. I expected the excursions to the islands a bit more interesting because mostly we went for a short period of rime and then we spend more time on the boat. last stop was the lagoon, we stayed there for over an hour to visit something that takes 15 minutes. They told us we could lay in the sun on the beach but the beach was not very clean and it was all shadow everyone was just wasting time waiting to leave. The lunch time we spend on a really simple location. Food was average but for the price we could have received a soup with more vegetables. We received a simple clear chicken soup with one piece of carrot one piece of chicken and one piece of onion. For the rest the islands were nice but i would not do this trip twice.

Thanks for writing this review. I will defintely recheck the itinerary on that day, usually you will have plenty of time the beaches and islands in Angthong Marine Park. On some days the itinerary has to be adjusted due to the weather and sea conditions.

Great day exploring Angthong started with a simple breakfast in port - toast and instant coffee with powder milk. Free water on board all day, no alcohol. Boat holds over 40 people and that’s definitely far too many. We were lucky as we only ended up with a group of around 20 so plenty of space for everyone. Snorkelling was ok, pretty busy with a few boats landing at the same spot at the same time. Blue lagoon was amazing, worth the tough climb up and down long and very steep stairs (not ideal for small kids or anyone scared of heights or with mobility difficulties). Kayaking around a small island was lovely. Lunch was simple and tasty, Thai food and fresh fruit at a different location to the one on the picture here. Weather was good on the way out but the water got rough on the way back and the ride was very bumpy. Luckily no one hurt themselves or was sick but I can absolutely see how easily both could happen. Our tour guides Joe and Otto as well as the rest of the crew were brilliant, attentive all day.

Great experience around 5 beautiful islands, the crew were great and informative and the trip provided a great snorkelling experience and a hike up to a beautiful viewpoint. The team took care of us all day, taking underwater photos and ensuring safety was to the upmost standard. Lunch was great on a very authentic Thai island. Breakfast was the only small complaint as it only comprised of toast, however it was described as light and it was. Would recommend bringing a couple of snacks with you for the start of the tour as it starts very early. They provided an almost endless supply of water and Pepsi which was very well welcomed in the humid Thai climate. Very informative tour, full of invaluable experiences and fun ! Would definitely recommend

Thanks for your detailled experience report. Our team makes sure you will have the best time during our trip to the beautiful islands in Angthong Marine Park. Rgearding the breakfast, it is indeed a light one. For those who are big eaters, we recommend to bring some snacks or get a pre-breakfast at the hotel first.

This tour was incredible, the tour guides were so helpful, informative and friendly.
We did SO much throughout the day, saw some beautiful islands, hiked up to the most incredible view points as well as some snorkelling too.
During the day, they photographed us all and sent us a link to see all the photos taken which was an added bonus.
Would recommend to bring some travel sickness tablets if you do get sea sick because at the start of the day, you are on the speed boat for approx 1 hour.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and would do it again and again!

Well organized tour! We were picked up at our hotel on time and taken to the pier where we checked in, had a light breakfast and then boarded our boat. Our first stop was in a bay for snorkelling. Due to the winds, there were several boats in the area and many people snorkelling but we still got to see some fish. Next we visited Ko Wua Ta Lab, the main island where we went on a hike to the viewpoint (500 metres I think) to experience the most beautiful views of the surrounding islands. The hike was a bit intense as the stairs are quite steep in some places, but the reward was so worth it! Spectacular! Due to the wind and waves, our itinerary changed a bit and our next stop was Koh Mae Koh where we could hike more stairs to see the picturesque emerald green lagoon surrounded by cliffs. Our last stop was for a late buffet lunch at Koh Paluay - very delicious. The boat ride back was a bit rough but the crew were awesome. They always were offering bottles of water and Pepsi, and were very helpful at our stops to assist those people who felt unsteady in disembarking from the boat to get to shore. The photographer was great and captured some great shots. When we arrived back at Koh Samui there were some souvenir plates available for sale that had a photo imprinted of each couple (or single) - a beautiful memento of our day! Would definitely recommend this tour!

Had a great day with the Insea speedboat tour to Ang Thong national marine park. They picked us up at 7:30 at the hotel and took and took us to the port. Small breakfast provided with juice, coffee, toast, jam and some fried pastry. Breathtaking sights with all the beautiful islands, kayaking, snorkelling and a great lunch on Ang Thong. Back at the hotel around 6 and two very happy kids.

Hello! We are a family of 3 adults and one child. If we book this day tour, is it possible to pick us from Koh Samui Cruise Terminal (Nathon Pier) on Friday the 23rd of February at 8.30 in the morning? We will arrive with the TUI boat Mein Schiff 5. And most important, is it possible to be back at the pick up point at 16.30 the latest, not to miss our boat? Thank you!

Hello, it is possible to stay at Koh Phaluai ? If yes, at the lunch time ?
Do you do discount if you let us after the lunch time in Koh Phaluai, so we don't do Song Pee Nong and the return in boat ?
Thank you

Hi, Is this tour safe for non swimmers ? Do you offer guidance and help in snorkelling and kayaking for such non swimmer travellers doing these for the first time?
Written 27 August 2019
Definitely safe. A lot of the snorkellers on my trip yesterday chose to wear their life jackets whilst doing it. Clear, warm water and loads to see.
I couldn't say about guidance though, as having experience of both, I didn't go looking. But the staff generally were very attentive and helpful throughout the day, so no reason why not.
