About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- michelleann20140 contributionsThe Best Day!We had such a fun time with Yoshi and loved our day in Kanazawa, where there's so much to see and do. We saw the beautiful Kenrokuen garden, Kanazawa Castle park, the teahouse district and the Oyama jinja shrine. He went out of his way to find the most delicious sushi restaurant for us and we definitely enjoyed choosing artisanal soy sauce from the place that makes it. Yoshi is an expert guide and he and our driver took such good care of us. It was just the perfect day in Japan.Written 9 November 2024
- michelleann20140 contributionsWonderful Day in TokyoWe had a great day with Steve! He took us to see the beautiful oasis in the city, Shinjuku Gyoen Garden and the 3D cat billboard in Shinjuku, which I could have watched all day. We had the most delicious tempura lunch and learned about sake. We went to the Yaneka district and found charming shops. We saw many more places with Steve and appreciated his insider knowledge!Written 9 November 2024
- I6040VQkristinm0 contributionsAmazing Osaka day with sachikoJust finished a day trip with sachiko. She was so kind and lovely to spend the day with and share her knowledge of Osaka areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with her.Written 9 November 2024
- Marco M0 contributionsImpressiveMy 21 year old son and I had a great day with our guides. It was a retired man and a somewhat older lady who is in training. Sometimes a bit difficult to understand, but very friendly. They took us everywhere and explained everything. The nice thing was that you didn't have to think about which train to take or how to get anywhere. They arranged everything.Written 9 November 2024
- Joanne J0 contributionsGreat day in HiroshimaAya was amazing and had the day so well planned yet was able to adjust to meet our requests. She had researched all of the places we visited and was able to answer all our questions. She was easy to talk to, considerate of the time we wanted to spend in a place and had a general welcoming demeanour. Loved the day. Thanks so much Aya. We would recommend anyone to book with you.Written 9 November 2024
- lindasuehoffman0 contributionsRushed, Rigid Private TourMy daughter and I booked a private tour of Hiroshima just for the two of us to make sure we could learn as much as possible about its history and culture. Our tour guide reached out to us the evening before noting our meetup location at the Shin-Hiroshima Station. When we got there, we couldn't find her despite following the instructions she provided. I reached out via text and provided photos for our location. After about 20 minutes of back and forth, she came up to me and somewhat scolded me for not being at the "right" location. She then proceeded to rush us to another train to get to a ferry for the island Miyajima. During the 30 minute or so train ride, she sat behind us and chatted with another commuter for most of the time. Departing the train, it seemed like we were chasing our guide to the ferry. Once on the ferry, our guide sat behind us again and I had to ask her what body of water we were on, what island we were going to, what its significance was -- it seemed I had to do a lot of prompting to get basic information that I'd expected her to provide unprovoked. When we got to the island, she mentioned we would be eating lunch at a location she already selected and having Hiroshima Okonomiyaka and we needed to get through the shrine in time for the 11:30 am lunch. At no point did she ask us what we would like to do during the tour, what our interests were or food preferences. It seemed that we needed to rush through the tour to accommodate a rigid schedule. She also was insistent that she pay for the entrance fees and other costs and would collect from us at the end of the tour which I objected to as I didn’t want to spend the time keeping a mental tab of what that cost would be at the end of the day. After some back and forth, I told her we would be paying for our own fees as we went and as explained on the Trip Advisor site for this booking. A couple of times, I was given a map of the island with its points of interest, and it appeared the intent was for me to read the information rather than her provide it. I wanted to take a picture of the Shinto Gate that is submerged in the water and there was a line. The guide did not want to wait for the line for me to do so and gave a location to the side that had obstructed views. This was very frustrating. It seemed she was not interested in accommodating our taking pictures. My daughter and I ended up huddling to figure out what to do and we decided to let the guide know we would continue without her services as the rushing around, absence of pertinent details on what we were seeing, general lack of meaningful answers to questions, and not being allowed to provide input on the day’s itinerary was becoming increasingly frustrating. My assumption was that, like other private tours, we would be able to provide our expectations or desires on what we wanted to see, do, eat, etc. Unfortunately, the tour was a wash at $351 USD. We ended up visiting the rest of the island on our own, taking the ferry back, and navigating ourselves to the Hiroshima Peace Museum which was a great, sobering experience. Takeaway from this: Make sure to set expectations with the tour company before booking so that you get a guide who can accommodate. (Note that my daughter is fluent in Japanese so none of this was due to a language barrier. Our guide simply seemed to be fixed on a rigid itinerary and rushing us through it.)Written 9 November 2024
- Traveler318139874320 contributionsFantastic day in Tokyo! We had an amazing tour of Tokyo, starting with a walk through the grounds of the Imperial Palace, the food court below the Takashimaya Dept Store, Tokyo Train Station, Asakusa Kannon, with a stop for lunch at a lovely little restaurant nearby. Our guide, Noripy, was so very knowledgeable and cheerful and energetic. We loved it!Written 9 November 2024

- samsJ3261JY0 contributionsA fabulous day!Riona was an excellent guide for a day in Hiroshima and Miyajima. She was very thoughtful in her plans and very knowledgeable about the places we visited. She considered my limitations as I had hurt my foot before the trip and needed some breaks. She even took photos so I could enjoy the sites and also have something to show my friends and family. It was an awesome experience and I would recommend her and this trip to anyone.Written 9 November 2024
- frankakoeman0 contributionsSo lucky to have Yuko as a tourguide in Hiroshima. Our private tour with Yuko was very pleasant and informative. She was proud being a guide in Hiroshima, especially because of the way people dealt with what has happened here. She was so kind, het English very good and she could answer all the questions we had. She was also anxious to learn about our country. We would absolutely recommend Yuko for a private tour!Written 9 November 2024

- ceylon240 contributionsA remarkable city and Peace MemorialWe had an interesting tour with Nob San. Highly recommend doing a tour of Hiroshima city so you get a full account of the history and insight into this city that makes you reflect on the atrocities of war, from a local guide. Nob san was very knowledgable and made the tour interesting.Written 9 November 2024
- CoastGuardSteve0 contributionsBest tour in KyotoOur tour guide was incredible. If you get Kaz, he is very knowledgeable, polite and funny. He didn’t just show us buildings and places, he told us the history and stories behind every room, pine tree and pond. This would have been a good tour with anyone but Kaz went over the top and you can tell he loves telling people about Kyotos history. We picked Nijo Castle, Kinkaju Temple and Arashiyama Forest. Great choices. My sister has dietary needs and he met those as well at a wonderful restaurant. So, do the tour, ask for Kaz and have a great time.Written 8 November 2024

Chinami (Cindy) was a very wonderful guide. My husband and I went and visited Mt. Fuji for my birthday and we were super lucky to have Chinami as our tour guide. We have learned a lot on our day-tour with her. She was very patient and kind and made the most out of our short trip. Even after the day tour, she still continuously communicates to us via email and sent great recommendations to see Japan. We are humbled by our experience with this tour and would like to come back and visit again soon. Thanks Chinami!

Please come back near future in different season in order to put on Kimono which you couldn’t make it this time. Please take care of yourselves. Thanks again! .

Overall experience was excellent. The favorite part of our experience was the Ice cave and having the company and expertise of Ms. Chinami the whole time. She was extremely amicable and accommodating to me and my family going above and beyond to make our day a success. Ms. Nakamura has a great handle of the English language and made all bus transportation and event admissions easy to manage. Her knowledge of the areas visited was evident and gave us a better understanding of the history of the park. I will be booking again with Ms. Chinami Nakamura for other experiences and will recommend friends and family to do the same.

Thank you for the review. I was so happy to manage to take you to Aokigahara forest and Ice cave even though your bus from Tokyo was caught a traffic jam.
It was one of the best season to see Mt Fuji and ices in the cave. I hope you come to Yamanashi to have more experience, such as visiting wineries, hiking mountains, and so on near future. I will brush up my English and get more information to tell you. I appreciate your kind and warm comment again. Take care!

We had an amazing time with our Tour Guide Yumi... Her knowledge of the area and friendliness was exceptional. We definitely recommend Yumi to show you the sights of the Lake Kawaguchiko area!... The view from the Churieto pagada in particular was spectacular!

Midori San was a friendly and very knowledgeable you guide. We started at Oshino Hakkai and then headed to Kawaguchiko lake where we went on the ropeway and sightseeing boat. The views of Japan covered in snow were beautiful. It was very magical. Also the lunch that Midori San recommended was so tasty, highly recommend!

This guided tour of the Fuji Five Lakes was fantastic! Moto-san was the best guide for it. It was my first solo trip ever and me haven't been to Fuji Lakes area before, it really was a great experience. The weather conditions for the day were perfect to view Mt. Fuji in the morning. We also visited Aokigahara forest. After a short hike through the beautiful forest we visited the ice caves, which was super cool! I learned many interesting facts on the tour about the area. Really do recommend Moto-san and this tour to others if they want to learn unique facts about Mt. Fuji and it's stunning scenery.

Our tour guide, Masako, helped us make a dream come true. This is our 3rd trip to Japan but the first time we've ever actually seen Mt.Fuji and not just the base and clouds. Masako constantly was in touch with us beforehand and even responded to our request to start our tour an hour early this morning when we woke up and saw clear skies. As a Kawaguchiko resident, she knew of a small non-touristy restaurant to get a traditional hoto fudo lunch. It was wonderful as was our whole experience on this tour.

Thank you again for coming to Japan and to Kawaguchiko.
I hope you will continue to travel and enjoy your life!

We booked the Mt.Fuji 5 Lakes area full day private trip with our guide Koba. This was an incredible day. Koba was so knowledgeable about how to get around and was able to provide a lot of flexibility for us to see everything we wanted to see. We hit all of the tour spots early and without much tour traffic because of Koba’s excellent planning. In addition, he was able to educate us on the area and provide a local’s insight which I feel was invaluable. He was also a joy to be around all day and was kind and helpful. We explored all of the places we wanted but we’re also fortunate to have such a friendly guide.

Thank you for your very positive review. We enjoyed perfect weather on this day and took surprising photos in this area, including Mt. Fuji from Arakura Shrine and other spots, Aokigahara Jukai (Sea of Trees)’s deep forest, Fugaku Wind Cave and Narusawa Ice Cave. I understand you enjoyed this tour but for me, it was very enjoyable with you. Please continue good trips in Japan!

Despite a short timing, Chinami took care of me during the whole time. She speak very well english and her explanations were extremly interesting and well given ! I learnt a lot about the region and I could see a lot of new environnements that I've never seen in my life like Aokigahara forest. The story about how the 2 lakes became five was so impressive. And the worshipping of Fuji Mount was interesting too. We could see and learn from their pilgrinage. And despite the weather, it was so interesting to see the Fuji Mount with its ornament of clouds! We could see cloud formation in live, it was impressive and breathtaking.
Chinami is enthusiastic, involved, serious and professional. A truly amazing person !

Michio was an incredible guide! He took us to 5th station, the Mt. Fuji cultural center, and a sake tasting and was very helpful throughout the entire experience. He provided both great conversation in english and was also able to communicate our needs in japanese to local staff in order to create the best experience possible. When we missed our bus and it started pouring rain, he called the company to get a ride for us. Overall, it was a great tour and I would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our 6 hours tour with Masako. Her pre-planning process before trip was key for us to decide what we wanted to see. On the day, we ticked all our boxes (Kawaguchi Sengen, Trii gate, Akita shrine and Kitaguchi shrine) despite unexpected delays. But Masako was able to organise taxis to keep us on track. Thanks Masako!
