Pay By Card - Cash does not exist??
We write about the cafeteria at the base of the sky rail - very hot day - an icecream was what we wanted - made our selection - handed over the cash and the response was a big NO !!! Pay by card only or put it back in the freezer. So we had to!! Has our way of life stooped to such a disgusting level?? Shape up Sky rail ~ surely you can do better than that?

        Amazing day
Was collected by Beaches Meet & Greet for transfer on time from my hotel. I never usually give 5 stars but I had an amazing day saw all I wanted to see arrived about 1.30 pm in time to get a picture with a koala before the snake show then a quick wander round before the crocodile Attack show then a cruise round the lagoon to see how croc feed. A totally amazing afternoon would recommend

        Best tour company in Cairns!
My teenage son and I went on the Cape Tribulation tour on Tuesday 23 January 2024. It was fantastic! Our tour leader and guide, Scott, was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was well organised, we visited Mossman Gorge, walked through the Daintree tropical rainforest, saw a crocodile on the Daintree river cruise, enjoyed delicious barramundi and locally made ice cream for lunch, enjoyed time at Thornton beach, and even stopped on the Captain Cook Hwy to see wild wallabies. Overall, a great tour - highly recommend! Thank you Scott and Down Under Tours :)

Beautiful trip over rainforest. Visit Kuranda
Excellent trip over rainforest. Got a real appreciation of the environment. Sadly the return train wasn’t working following cyclone damage. Spent a few hours in Kuranda. The Skyrail had excellent staff and excellent facilities. Good value.

A must do while in Cairns
Great day out while in Cairns. The rainforest is massive and breathtaking views from the sky rails . Informative talk and small boardwalk tour by a guide was well worth doing after you get off the first gondola . Plenty of places to eat at the Kuranda markets at the top . Train wasn’t working cause tracks washed out with cyclone late December so back down in the gondola. Well worth doing for everyone.

        Awesome animals, guide and food
We went on a great tour to the daintree rainforrest, river and cape tripulation. We saw a cassowary, crocodiles and the wait-a-while-lead that our awesome guide Scott told us about. Scott was a blessing to have with us as he had many stories about the place, which gave us a deeper appreciation of the forrest roads when went on

        Great shuttle tour!
Michael was a great guide, was very friendly and had great knowledge of the area and its history. If looking for a tour of Karanda definitely book the shuttle tour with Michael. Very quick and excellent communication about bus pickups, tickets and times. Would do this again.

        An Interesting Day
The Sky Rail was great and each stop had interesting information. Kuranda itself was a bit disappointing as although it offered a variety of refreshments other shops were just boring tourist stuff. A bit sad. However the train trip back was excellent with a great commentary for all English speaking visitors. A treat although expensive for families.

Excellent trip with a knowledgable guide
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Our guide, Greg, was really knowledgable and friendly and kept us entertained with jokes the whole day. The lunch was delicious. The cruise on the Daintree river with our guide Jack was amazing and we were lucky enough to spot both a really young and an adult male crocodile. The views were stunning and it was lovely to see such an untouched and natural environment. Couldn’t finish without mentioning the gorgeous ice cream too! Highly recommend.

Gorgeous day trip to the mountains!
Gorgeous day trip with beautiful views!! Absolutely stunning! The train is lovely and you gently rock your way up the mountain stopping for sights. I took the skyrail down which also was absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend this tour!

Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Day Tour
We were a bit unsure about taking this trip but are so glad we did, an amazing, enjoyable and very informative trip. Our guide Daniel was so knowledgeable about the natural world, professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Although not cheap we think this was good value for money as we saw all the key highlights, plus several additional stops, and there were morning and afternoon refreshments plus a delicious lunch. Any dietary requirements were asked at the start, I am coeliac and my gluten free requirements were very well catered for, with no need to take my own food! Would highly recommend.

Worthwhile trip but clarify information with your group
Overall trip was good but lack of clarity by tour group on meeting point meant bus left without collecting us. Had to arrange private Uber to skyline at own cost with no reimbursement. Skyline ride and train itself interesting and rainforest tour informative.

Loved the train up to Kuranda...it stopped twice on the way. And then the skyrail down, over the rainforest canopy! Kuranda is a cute little town with fun shops, lunch spots and a neat market area.

We went up on the Skyrail – Altogether this was a great day trip, however quite expensive if you have a family.
We thought the Skyrail was excellent, travelling through and over some great scenery and saw what they say is the world’s oldest rainforest - overall this ride was value for money.

Cant recommend this company and their tours enough.
Whilst you could organise it yourself they make it really easy.
We started with a Pickup from our accommodation in Port Douglas, they were on time and straight away our driver gave us a personalised itinerary for the day, which included our tickets to the Skyrail and Train.
We were delivered to the Tjupakei aboriginal cultural centre for a tour of the various demonstrations and then walked next door to the Skyrail.
This cable car trip is in 3 stages and is breathtaking throughout, especially the lookout for Barron falls. We had a look around Kuranda and the markets and a meal before boarding the Scenic train back to Freshwater where our Down under tours coach was waiting for us.
The companies organisation was spot on , which made a for a relaxing day.

DISAPPOINTED with this company. Booked to be picked up from Port Douglas and was told that they don't do that, (why offer it) luckily I had a car rental to drive myself 45 mins to the station. Skyrail canceled due to Covid (not enough people booked) and was offered a replacement trip to the Table Lands.
On the day I was informed only 30 mins before train left station that this tour was also canceled due to not enough people booked (again why offer it) I planned a full day out with my granddaughter (as offered my this company) -Train, Village and Table Lands tour. Instead it was Train, a rush through the Village and on the bus back to the station with a headache due to company lack of communication.
If the Covid is going to be around for awhile you need to rethink about what you are offering and stick to it. Even a car tour around the Table Lands would have been wonderful if you didn't have enough people for bus
I am one if the lucky ones who still has money to spend do you want it or not?

Hi Suzanne H, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is one of our main partners who remain closed due to COVID, which is why unfortunately we were not able to provide the tour that you originally booked. Through the COVID period (and ongoing) our management team has made decisions on our operations periodically to adjust to the continual updates provided by both the Government and our partners. After you made your booking, we were received further information that our partners were remaining closed and the decision was made to operate limited tours from July 15th. Our reservations team contacted you regarding your booking and with your approval, this was changed to our temporary Kuranda & Tablelands Self Drive tour. On the day prior to your travel, it was identified that you were the only 2 passengers booked on this tour. Our reservations team attempted to call you and left a voicemail, however as we had no further contact with you, you only received this information when you arrived at the meeting point on your day of travel. Many changes were made to adjust to COVID impacts and requirements this year, and in order to remain financially viable these included not offering pickups from Port Douglas and Northern Beaches, and minimum numbers on tours. We understand your frustration regarding the situation, and appreciate your feedback and understanding as we, like all operators, adjust to numerous changes whilst trying to have the least impact on our passengers as possible. We appreciate your feedback and understanding, and hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your holiday. Safe travels, The DUT Team.

Overpriced for what it is. On the day we went it broke down. Rude korey was having a power trip telling people what to do, and when we told him the line was now moving, and going again , he stopped just short of calling liars. Had to get the lovely manager to sort him out.

It was called a day trip but should have been called “half day trip” as it picked us up at 12 and returned by 6. The driver on the way was great, really informative. The skyrail was lovely, the scenery was spectacular, the train ride was possibly not our thing as it was really long and it was unpleasantly hot but the staff onboard the train are fantastic and handed out handheld fans.

My partner and I did the Skyrail up and the Kuranda Scenic train back to Freshwater on Valentines day. We had an amazing time! Our driver / guide both ways was Utah and she was fantastic, very informative both ways and a great sense of humor too!
It was such a beautiful day to do the trip visiting the beautiful wee village of Kuranda, The skyrail staff at Red peak & Barron falls stations also very lovely and friendly happy to answer questions we had. The views crossing the skyrail simply amazing as too on the train. Thank you so much to Jane, the downunder tours res team and Utah for the amazing experience. Definitely would do it again the opposite way next time though, train up skyrail down. Must do for sure if visiting Far North Queensland
