Great tour learning about the history of sake in Takayama and with the ability to try many types of sake. The tour guide gave us a behind the scenes tour of the sake brewery.

We visited Takayama because we heard that it's so relaxing and different from Tokyo. But yes it was true ! also attending this tour was a great idea. We could try many types of Japanese food and really enjoyed Takayama a lot!

The Sake Brewery tour was very informative thank you to our knowledgeable guide Yama. It was very interesting to learn about the Sake making process and sample some very nice kinds, Kanpai!

This village was pure magic and it’s like travelling back in time . Our lovely guide spoke great english and took us around to show everything as well as at the end brought us to lovely soba ramen home kitchen like place. We loved it

We met Yama at the tour agency office and stated our tour. We had already been at Takayama for a few days but Yama introduced us to food that we would not have tried in our own - one example for a chestnut mochi and the soft rice cake. Come with an empty stomach.

I booked this as I wanted someone to explain to me and my family what we were seeing. Yama met us at the Shirakawago bus terminal and then took us around. I was travelling with 5 seniors, all above 70. Yama was patient and accommodated their pace especially when walking up and down the viewpoint. Having a guide was especially helping when touring the museum as Yama took time to explain what we were seeing. This was my 2md time to Shirakawago and I got so much more this time. The tour ended with lunch when a table was already reserved for us and we could order any set from the menu. Good day out.

We visited the oldest Sake Brewery in Takayama with our guide Mui. She was amazing! She explained everything so well. We learned a lot about the brewing process, as well as the history of Takayama. I would definitely recommend booking a tour with Mui!

We had a great time on the foodtour with Yama. Learned a lot, tasted different things and made rice cookies. We can recommend Yama's foodtour.

A terrific little tour explaining and demonstrating the skill and technique of sake making. The guide, Mu, was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. If I have any complaint, and it is nothing to do with the tour itself, I was concerned about the exorbitant TripAdvisor booking fee, at around 50% of the direct tour cost. This is not fair to customer or tour provider.

We were so fortunate to be the only guests for the tour, so we had the undivided attention of our guide. She was thorough and answered all of our questions with patience.

We had a great tour in Takayama! I would recommend this tour - especially on your first day or two visiting as it showed us different places to go and eat! Definitely come hungry to this tour! Great way to see a very cool town and experience a bit of the culture!
