About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- davideA5428IK0 contributionsYanaka WalkingTour 29 August 2024We had an excellent experience with our very knowledgeable and welcoming tour guide, Charlotte! A wonderful and insightful morning, and a great way to start our holiday!Written 11 September 2024
- flygal20150 contributionsPersonal tour full of shrines, off the beaten-pathMutsuko was a wonderful guide. I somehow had the luck to end up with her solo and we had a lovely morning strolling the Shinagawa area which is full of temples and shrines, as well as some beautiful old architectural store fronts. She pointed out stores that had been run by generations of the same families. You really don’t get this in downtown Tokyo! Towards the end of our trip, she took me to a tea shop and treated me to a delicious Japanese dessert (I got shaved ice with sweet red beans and syrup and freshly made mochi) and iced tea. Mutsuko shared a lot of information so I came away with a much better understanding Japanese history. She has also done her homework, visiting locations and stores in advance so they weren’t surprised by us - a 5 generation boat restaurant owner let us onto his boat to look inside at the set-up for example. All these things added up to make the tour feel more personal and with a chance to meet locals than a larger tour (I know I was by myself but I understand this tour has a cap of 6, so even with 6 it would feel special). Thank you Mutsuko!Written 10 September 2024
- Renae K0 contributionsKyoto on a tight scheduleAmazing experience. Megumi was an amazing guide and there is no way we could have experienced all we wanted to without her!Written 8 September 2024
- nah0mef0 contributionsAmazing!!!One of the best experiences we've had in Japan! Very welcoming instructors who made it accessible to us as novices. Just the right balance of letting us attempt to create something ourselves and guiding us along every step of the way, making sure the knives come out looking great in the end. The surrounding area is also definitely worth checking out - beautiful mountains, crystal clear rivers and lush green landscape.Written 7 September 2024
- ge0rgene00 contributionsKyoto wonderlandMizuho was our terrific guide to the Private Kyoto Mountain Hike. Out tour company cancelled out tour as a typhoon was hitting Japan and surrounding the Kyoto area. This tour company felt that it would not be safe for us if we hiked on the assigned day and offered a complete refund. However, the night before we were supposed to hike, the weather turned beautiful. Our hotel manager reached out to Mizuho late the night before and asked her if she could reorganize us for the hike. After a series of calls, Mizuho worked her magic, and we all spent an amazing day hiking alongside her to Mt. Kurama and Kibune. Mizuho spoke very good English and was so very knowledgeable on the history of the area. She even took us to special hidden spots that were not listed on the itinerary. Our lunch was sensational at a traditional Japanese restaurant along the river. A truly magical experience. Thank you very much, Mizuho. Warm regards, Georgene O'RourkeWritten 6 September 2024
- katrinav3830 contributionsGreat tourThe tour was wonderful, we saw a lot and learned so much from Mana. It was nice to see through this tour a side of Tokyo we were unlikely to see otherwise. Mana was knowledgeable, professional and spoke great English. Highly recommend for anyone interested in history, japanese culture and traditionsWritten 3 September 2024
- Stay5997960 contributionsVery Serene with lots of historyWe absolutely loved spending the afternoon with Toshi what a wonderful guide, so kind, thoughtful and knowledgable. It was nice to be in a quiet calm area which is a big contrast to the busier areas of Tokyo, we would highly recommend this tour and of course a big thank you to Toshi!Written 30 August 2024
- U1546XBdanielad0 contributionsA magical immersion into the Japanese countryside (Tea picking + Kawagoe)What an unforgettable experience! The tour immersed us in the beauty of the Japanese countryside. And the tea master patiently guided us through every step of our tea-making journey with care and dedication. Hearing his story and tapping into his vast insider knowledge was not just inspiring but transformative as well. It gave us a whole new perspective and made us fall in love with the entire process. And then, the city tour with our guide, Kaori, was the perfect finishing touch! Her passion about Japanese culture is contagious, and her warm, engaging approach made the experience feel not only authentic but utterly magical. I would suggest this tour to anyone who wants to dive into the Japanese lifestyle in an unconventional way.Written 29 August 2024
- 599arnielb0 contributionsGreat hidden gem hiding in plain view.It was a very informative trip. I have lived in Kanto for over 10 years and I have never been to Nippori Yanaka area until today. Mana, our guide knew the location well, and had helpful paperwork visuals that added to the experience. I am training to be a guide myself, but there is no way I could ever surpass her tour ever.Written 27 August 2024
- raj6969690 contributionsKokura half dayOur tour guide was Miyuki san. She was very friendly and pleasant, we had a really good time with her. She took us to the Tota Museum and Kokoro castle, which were very enjoyable. We also went to the garden and enjoy the views there. Being vegan, she took us to a really nice fruit restaurant. It’s very difficult to find vegan food in Kokura so we really appreciate all the effort she want to plan our trip to find restaurants. We had a great time and would recommend her to anyone in the Fukuoka area.Written 25 August 2024
- Z513BFsarahg0 contributionsAn amazing day in NagasakiAn absolutely brilliant tour with just the right balance of history, culture, food and sightseeing. Akiko was the best guide of our 2 weeks in Japan and as an amazing bonus, her Mum joined us at the Peace Park to give us the benefit of her local knowledge. Going to the Nagasaki epicentre and museum was a really emotional experience and it ended beautifully with Akiko teaching us how to make origami cranes. Only 999 more to go 😊. An excellent day with two excellent women. Highly recommended.Written 22 August 2024

- hansolofh0 contributionsA good tour with a very nice guideThe tour to the golden pavilion and the Kyoto residence of the Shogun during the Edo-period was very interesting and the best part of the tour. They were both very beautifully. I especially appreciated that they had preserved the forest covered hills behand the pavilion that made the pavilion to really stand out. And I liked the animals that were painted on the walls of the shogun reception rooms. The was quite nice, even if it was obvious that the artist had never seen tigress and leopards. We real appreciated our guide Yoshida. She was knowledgeful and very nice. Especially how she took care my wife, then she got a little tiered in the heat stands out. We liked her a lot.Written 20 August 2024

We had a wonderful day and tour. We visited Asakusa and the Sensoji Temple, Shibuya and Meiji Shrine. Had lunch in Asakusa and ice cream near the Meiji Shrine. Learned how to move around Tokyo in the rails. Shizuko was a delightful guide - a lot of fun and very informative. She was also a big help in getting me around. As a bonus, she also recommended that we visit the Edo Museum the next day and gave us directions on how to get there and back. It is a wonderful museum and we learned a lot. We also ate at the museum restaurant and then visited the Kyu Yasuda gardens and the Yokoamii-cho Park where there is a beautiful memorial to the 1923 earthquake victims. If we ever return to Tokyo, we will again plan to meet up with Shizuko.

First day in Tokyo Yoko demonstrated high level of professionalism in handling me in my wheelchair using Tokyo public transportation notorious for its complexity. Most importantly, she created an itinerary showing us wide range of Tokyo Places and neighborhoods. Yoko has a very attractive, warm, and friendly personality. Great first day in Tokyo!

We booked an accessible tour as my wife suffered an unfortunate accident whilst on holiday and was wheelchair bound. We were met at our hotel by our guide Fumiko, a very caring and informative guide. I am sure she has done this particular highlights tour of Tokyo many times previously but she came across as it was her first time. She carefully guided us on the underground system ensuring guards were available with portable ramps to allow the wheelchair on the train at entering and exit. It was very hot and humid at the time of our visit but we made several stops for refreshment along the way. We went from the calm of strolling through beautiful park and shrines to the organised chaos of the famous Shibuya crossing.
All in all a most pleasurable experience and highly recommended for visitors who may have doubt about using a wheelchair on the busy streets of Tokyo
