Congratulations to the winners of Atome’s Own Your Adventure travel photography contest!

This year, the world reopened. Together with Tripadvisor and @YK, Atome asked travellers across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines to celebrate the joy of adventure and submit their most epic travel photos. 3,500 incredible destinations and experiences were shared on Instagram—but 23 unique shots caught our eye.

Here’s what @YK had to say about this epic shot: “I love this photo by @mkbuhain. It’s such perfect composition and timing—how the waves are so strong and how calm the person fishing is. A perfect balance which also really evoked a sense of escapade and reminded me of the thrill of travelling!”

With this photo, @mkbuhain has won flights and hotels for two to anywhere in the world worth US$10,000.

We can all agree that @mkbuhain has captured the essence of Keelung remarkably.

Keelung City in Taiwan is a fascinating port city bursting with opportunities to explore, learn, shop, and dine. There are also a multitude of ancient forts, temples, and beautiful scenery to discover such as Chaojing Park and Heping Island Park.

Get lost in time while exploring an ancient Buddhist temple at Zhong Zheng Park , fall in love with the great outdoors at Lover’s Lake, and witness the bustling shopping scene at Miaokou Night Market. Even if you’re done with these, you’d still barely scratch the surface of all the city has to offer.

City skylines are always awe-inspiring, and @jialejl has managed to capture the neon glow of Kuala Lumpur’s Twin Towers through the hotel windows. @YK especially loved “how [this image] magnifies the beauty in everyday life [on a rainy day]”.

There’s so much to see and experience in the capital city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is a cultural hub and thousands of tourists visit to admire its gorgeous skyscrapers, historical monuments, and bustling streets.

Don’t miss visiting the Petronas Twin Towers. These are the tallest twin towers in the world at 88 stories high, and this status has remained unchallenged since 1996. The skyscrapers are magnificent, and particularly stunning when illuminated at night (as we can see from @jialejl’s photo).

Beyond admiring modern architecture, travellers can also wander the streets of Kuala Lumpur and discover the city’s ancient past. The Sri Mahamariamman is Malaysia’s oldest Hindu temple, while the colourful Batu Caves are over 400 million years old.

Visit Kuala Lumpur to experience a melting pot of modernity and tradition.

Golden hour, a marigold sunset, and a unique perspective of Norway’s skyline. For @vacillte, sunsets present a time for reflection: “Every time I travel, I find myself subconsciously spending the most time reflecting as the sun sets… Sunsets may signify the end of the day, but to me, they also bring about new beginnings.” Indeed, @YK especially enjoyed the “back story of how they shot these images” and we think @vacillte has managed to convey Oslo’s everyday charm via this evocative capture.

Get a glimpse of an urban oasis in Oslo, Norway. The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of the Oslo Fjord. The rolling hills visible in Oslo hint at the wild wonders—rugged shoreline, charming woodlands and serene lakes—that lie just beyond the city fringes.

When you need a break from hiking, visit Vigeland Park to marvel at over 200 bronze, iron and granite sculptures, learn about Nordic history at Fram Museum, or catch a performance at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
