A wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas, Jetstar Australia (JQ) is a low-cost airline headquartered in Melbourne. Its primary hub is located at Melbourne Airport (MEL), with secondary hubs at Brisbane Airport (BNE), Sydney Airport (SYD), Gold Coast Airport (OOL) and Cairns Airport (CNS). The Jetstar brand also includes subsidiaries operating from Singapore, Japan and Vietnam. Jetstar's fleet of 72 aircraft includes Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 787-8 planes.

Manipulation into paying more money consistently

We flew twice with jetstar over the month. First flight was cancelled with 5 hours notice, advised on the email to contact them to arrange rescheduling for the following day(24 hours later). Decent service on rescheduling but tried to make us claim our hotel costs off our own insurance, when we stated it was their responsibility, they then agreed to cover these costs. Obviously trying to get out of those costs and put them onto us. Second flight our hand luggage bags were weighed at check in and were under. Following security we filled up our water bottles and bought some food to eat prior to boarding, the que was so long for the gate we joined the que and put this in our bag to eat on the plane. The staff then came through with tablets and scales and forced us to weigh our bags again, advised we were now slightly over, I told them we had literally just grabbed a drink and food to eat but didn't have time and that we could remove that to eat now and they'd be under as they were checked by their staff at check in. They refused and were very rude and made us pay an extra 75 dollars. Clearly try to rip off their customers and manipulate into extra money. Would not recommend.

Worst airline

Checkin was just a complete stuff up. Stand in the queue for 2hrs then moved to line that the flights closing. Absolutely pathetic system. So many angry customers that have stood inline for 2hrs to miss their flights & no one to assist.

Unhelpful and Rude staff - Erin from Brisbane checking, you take the cake. Horrible experience, should have expected it. Again horrible.

Absolute Nightmare

It’s not worth the cheap fare, both flights with Jetstar have been either delayed or cancelled, cost me 2 days in my holiday and a lot of stress for my family, I’ve had to have a stop over stay costing me extra money, they changed the gate on us without notification and we’ve missed the flight, they charge me transfer fee 300$

Worst Airline Ever!

Can't even operate a plane cancelled after 2 hours of waiting. Don't care about there customers. Give us a new plane and brush us of at 9:30 expecting us to find a hotel. Staff are rude sending us to the back of the line after making our way through. To busy taking personal phone calls. Do not fly!
