🚨 Avoid EgyptAir – Unjustified Overcharges & Poor Customer Service! 🚨
I recently had a terrible experience with EgyptAir regarding excess baggage charges and horrible customer service. My wife and I traveled from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China (CAN) to Belgium, and EgyptAir scammed us with unfair baggage fees.
✔ Excess Baggage Scam:
We had a total of 92 kg of luggage, with a permitted allowance of 46 kg (23 kg per bag).
Instead of charging for only the 46 kg of excess weight, EgyptAir wrongfully charged us $1,520 USD for "extra pieces" instead of applying a fair weight-based calculation.
They charged $380 for a 6 kg bag and the same amount for a 22 kg bag! This is outrageous and exploitative.
✔ Unprofessional Staff & Rude Behavior:
When we questioned the excessive charges, an EgyptAir staff member shouted at us at the airport, showing complete disrespect for passengers.
When we complained, customer service ignored our concerns and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing.
✔ EgyptAir’s Customer Service is a Joke:
We have been fighting for over a month to get a refund, but EgyptAir refuses to admit any mistake.
They keep sending generic responses without addressing the actual issue.
🔴 BEWARE! EgyptAir has no transparency in its baggage fees and does not care about passengers. I strongly advise travelers to avoid EgyptAir at all costs unless you want to be overcharged, disrespected, and ignored.
📢 I will be escalating my case to international aviation authorities and legal channels to ensure no other passengers are scammed like we were.
