Virgin ruined my once in a lifetime trip with son to grand prix

So I have just returned from my four day trip of a lifetime with my young adult son to the Melbourne grand prix. This trip in a lifetime was ruined thanks to virgin. We were booked to fly out at 2000 on Sunday after the grandprix and instead got a text saying our flight at 2000 was cancelled and we have been rebooked to a 1830 flight, I spoke with help desk and was told yes the 2000 flight is cancelled and no later flights. So we had to leave the grandprix early to make the flight as all other flights with other airlines were now priced at $1000pp. Imagine my surprise on arriving in Sydney to see on the arrivals board that there are two more flights yet to arrive from Melbourne, including the original flight we were booked on. Thanks Virgin for ruining my lifetime trip. Never again will I fly with virgin, who I assumed sold on my tickets to someone else and turfed me onto they earlier flight

Moved to “ accommodate another group”

Despite booking well in advance, 27th December, picking flights for 15th March 25, choosing seats and paying for them BUMPED at the gate!! Checked in online in advance, received boarding pass for allocated seat only to discover seat reassigned when boarding ! On speaking with staff at the gate I may have been reassigned to “accommodate another group” ….unacceptable way to treat fair paying passengers .. What’s the point of picking and choosing seats ?!? ….Think twice as other airlines are available

Recently I flew on a late running service- the aircraft had to be brought out of a hangar (or so they told us) to make up time for the service. It departed an hour late. The staff throughout it all were the height of professionalism- it was a treat watching the male stewardesses work their magic on the flight. They certainly look sharp in their uniform. Yes - the flight was late but life is not perfect- significant events occur that change outcomes. Well done to the team for handling the changes so well.
