Self catering apartments you probably won't find. The few will be booked for that time of year, which is by far the busiest of the year. For now take a look at White Sands Beach and state your budget range so I can be more specific. ... more

... at all resorts. There are a couple of small gyms with free weights on the island. Paradise palms on pearl beach has one and in VJ Plaza at the northern end of Klong Prao beach you'll find a gym at the rear of the plaza near the apartment block ... more

... a few backpaker huts about. Apartment rooms by day /month near small bridge before you turn right, into 'town'. More costly 'tourist' places on pier for seafood eats are good. But cheaper is a few places to eat to the right a 100 yds before the 711. Very nice beach ... more

... quiet location and 10 minutes walk to Paradise. Coconut Beach have AC bungalows on the beach for under 2000 baht - 5 mins walk. On the roadside there's Koh Chang Inn - apartment rooms for about 700 baht/nice for AC room. Not attractive in any way but cheap and safe ... more
