Must admit,looking at Amble it does tick most of the boxes with nice beaches, holiday cottages or a caravan park to choose from and a decent base to visit other places should it be non-beach weather

... beautiful, there are tons of holiday cottages within a 10 minute walk from the beach, check out northumbian country cottages ( i think), sykes or cottages 4 u should have a few there too. there are great pubs and restaurants in the village, you,re only 3 miles from warkworth and ... more

It doesn't have to be camping, a static caravan or an inexpensive camping barn would be good too. The ones I've found online seem to be quite pricey, more like holiday cottages than barns.

Amble is an ideal place to base yourselves for exploring the northumberland coastline and the country side. We live next to two holiday cottages in Amble and have never heard the holiday makers complaining about the area ( just the weather when it rains ). ... more
