While on a tour of Porto Cervo, we passed many private villas with huge, beautiful wooden gates. The guide said they were made of local wood (or maybe just made locally?) Does anyone know what type of wood? Any info on these gates would be helpful. Thanks! ... more

... tried Cala Di Falco resort in Cannigione? We are staying there in August, with small children. They have hotel rooms, self-catering apartments and small villas. It's on the coast and a short walk to the town. Very family friendly, and in nice gardens. Not sure about prices though ... more
