... done ?......Just wondering if the water quality is improving at all during the past seven years.........we were so tempted to book a vacation rental there and snorkel in that area, but avoided it for obvious reasons........would definitely consider it in the future, though, if the water quality improves ... more

... that also has that many vacation rentals. You might look at Puako and Waialea if you want right on the water and don't like resorts. I consider myself a non-resort person, but I think people who look here with the "I hate resorts" mindset are actually shooting themselves ... more

... what you want to do. Vacation rental ads are the worst for making it seem like water is pristine that isn't, or swimmable when it's not. Hawi is a great alternative experience to see a different side of Hawai'i, but not a very good place for water ... more
