Thanks for reply. Fancied staying by sea and like things a bit quieter so not wanting to stay in Newcastle. Will have car. Plan days out shopping, museums etc. Evenings meal out. Likely to go for apartment rather than hotel. ... more

You would have the lovely coastline, fab beaches when the weather is great, empty beaches otherwise! You could get the metro into Newcastle in under half an hour from any of the 3 stations ... more

Check out premier apartments or properties unique - they both provide serviced apartments. Or you could check out Euro Hostel (don't be put off by it being called a hostel) its lovely, has a bar and the rooms are fantastic. It only opened last year and is really central. ... more
