Never been to Turkey. BODRUM or ANTALYA?

... would rather spend our days both at sites and at beaches and pools.
We are choosing between Antalya (the Renaissance) or Bodrum area (renting a villa in Bitez Village perhaps).
Can someone tell me the difference between Antalya and Bodrum and offer suggestions? We will likely rent a van. Thanks ... more

... You can rent some lovely villas around the area, Bitez village isn't by the sea but if you are hiring a van it is easy to get to, otherwise you could stay in Bitez Beach.
The Bodrum Peninsula is lovely and there are plenty of places to see around ... more

Food was good and easy to get seats at tables. We hired a villa and kids spent most of the time in the pool.
Went to Bodrum 2009, but in June.
Overall hard to choose between the two. But if had to choose, Kalkan for the views ... more

... I have been looking at villa's and hotel/resort all inclusive but do not know which specific area in Bodrum to stay that has the mixture of nightlife, beaches and good restaurants/ Also other daytime family friendly activities that I require.
