self catering with children - food to take

... catering in a very well equipped villa in July with children. So far I have found the things to take are : dishwashing tablets, tomato ketchup, tea and coffee. Can anyone advise on other things? Also, is it legal to take such foodstuffs in the hold luggage?

Personally I never take anything with me to a villa, the big supermarkets are always very well stocked with whatever you may need, I prefer to leave room in my case for clothes and shoes ... more

... and for adults not all villas are well equipped, some can be pretty basic. We therefore bring a decent can opener and bottle opener, sharp knife and bacon, cheese and sausages, tuna etc.
We also bring plastic cups and paper plates as there are never enough of these to do ... more

Ok, Calis has great sunsets, but once you've seen one......
Calis is becoming overdeveloped now, with too many villa complexes, in my opinion.
I wouldn't describe Olu as rowdy, and I don't think you get any more hassle there than in Calis ... more

... Hotels, but Calis also has Villas and Apartments to Rent Olu does not. Calis is only 10 minutes from Fethiye and you can choose to go by water taxi, which is a lovely way to travel. Olu is about 25 minutes away.

... is essential for us. Is Ovacik a reasonable option for getting into Fethiye easily with local amenities available? Or would Fethiye be a better option? We've ruled out Calis Beach so villa accomodation seems scarce in Fethiye itself.

... be ideal. Also lots of villas for rent as well as very good Hotels. I would say IMO that Ovacik and Hisaronu wihichrun into each other are more party noise places for younger people.

For whatever reasons op has discarded Calis. I personally would plump for Ovacik. Easy ride by dolmus, halfway between the sea at Olu Deniz and Fethiye. Plentiful villas with pools within walking distance of restaurants etc. ... more
