Funny, my brother stayed at Brista del Mar and with no AC and all the open air was "raped" by the mosquitos at night. The music is very audiable from Mariposa del Mar. Have you gone out of the area? Seen West Bay? Viewed other vacation rentals? ... more

... Mariposa del Mar was burgalarized. All electronic devices stolen. I spoke to another couple who had their camera stolen on the beach. I think oportunistic theft may be a problem here. Don't forget security at my vacation rental meant men carrying guns. I never felt my personal safety threatened ... more

We are staying at a vacation rental between West End and West Bay. Is there another way to get to either of those places than walking the beach? A road perhaps that is safer? Maybe we'll just stick to taking water taxis. Or bring a machete ourselves! ;) ... more
